We loved how country like it was, it felt like home. The staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and friendly, the food was absolutely fantastic! The restaurant is worth a visit and good value for money. We will be definitely coming back.

There’s not much we didn’t like about it. The only thing I would suggest improving was the room we stayed in, the blue room. The bed was broken at the side, one of the taps in the bathroom didn’t work properly, the toilet seat was loose and the shower door doesn’t close properly which meant every time we have a shower water would be all over the floor. The room also looked different to what it did on the photos. Other than this we had a lovely stay and thank you for having us.

Beautifully time preserved country house in rural settings, good Scottish Breakfast, excellent library and communal areas. We loved relaxing with a glass of wine playing Backgammon with the gorgeous set that is readily available to use. Very relaxed atmosphere. Ample parking. We met the owner and had a very good chat with him, a very interesting and lovely person. How e has an extensive knowledge of his library and collection of vintage/antique items around the house.

The evening meal vegetarian options are very limited and is the only reason we chose to dine out (unfortunately you need to drive appropriately 10 mins away). Saying that they do provide a vegan and vegetarian breakfast option that is quite adequate.

We stayed in the Royal blue room which was lovely decorated and spacious with a comfortable bed and sofa. It also had a free standing bath in the room and separate shower. The staff were all friendly from the lady who served us breakfast to both girls attending in the evening. Nice garden with feeling of being in the country and very quiet.

We were disappointed to find the bar closed as early as 6pm as we booked for 4 nights and nowhere to go within walking distance.Unfortunately this also meant we couldn't access the board games which were in this area as it was locked up when staff finished. This was one of the reasons we booked here as we thought If we had poor weather which we did we could pass the time relaxing with few drinks and an available board game. Instead we had no choice but to retire early to our room . It also became clear that there were no overnight staff from as early as 6pm when last members of staff left.As a hotel we felt somewhat uncomfortable on this point as did other residents. ...

On arrival we received a complimentary upgrade and the room was large and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. Had a lovely sleep. The breakfast next day was 10/10 and service was spot on. And lastly meeting the alpacas was the highlight

The room was above the kitchen so can be a little noisy when trying to sleep above. Also we got locked out and had to call emergency line to get back in but it was resolved very quickly by management and we were back indoors into our lovely room. I would maybe add an outside light which comes on via the car psrk and door as we had to use our phone lights.

Lovely place, lots of character, very comfortable. Relaxing.

Personally, I loved the breakfast but for my wife who is gluten free, the options were limited ie no gluten free sausage or black pudding.

The food was wonderful. We had a lovely evening meal (enormous profiteroles!) and we also enjoyed the full Scottish breakfast. The hotel had a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of comfy sofas and chairs for guests to coorie in with a good book. Our room was small, but clean and comfortable with nice views across the grounds.

We absolutely hated the toilet in our ensuite, with the sink built over the cistern. We understand the water-saving principle behind the design, but kneeling on the loo to clean your teeth is grim - and not great for your back if you're of a certain age. We thought it was odd to have a large TV playing music in the lounge, which was an otherwise lovely place to sit and read quietly. TV signal in the bedroom was dreadful.

Welcoming, lovely staff, really nice airy conservatory for breakfast and dinner. Liked the bar and great library. Nice gardens, except for the plastic ‘shrubbery’. In various pinks/purples, you don’t need this your gardens are lovely.

Initially put in the ‘Wee Room’ tiny and you had to kneel on the toilet to use the washbasin 🤣 but our main problem was the fact the window was screwed shut!!!!! We always, winter and summer, have an open window. Cannot sleep without this!! Anyway we were moved the next day and that was fine, thank you .

Because of a special occasion I changed my room to a room with a bath. When we arrived i’ve found out we had the whole upper part of the house. The house it self was difficult to find but there it was: alpacas in the yard and what a beautiful building. The inner part was divided in different rooms: library, sitting room with fireplace and a separate bar and restaurant. The spiral stairs lead you to the rooms with bathroom. Coffee and tea on the room. At the 16th of november te crew where preparing there first dinner opening. I loved the prawn with avocado salad and the green curry. Breakfast was satisfying and the services was like a cherry on the cake.

Nothing it is a bit difficult to find. Just follow the long white wall

The food was superb, for breakfast a great choice on offer and plenty of it, and in the evening the meals surpassed all expectations. The quality of the food, how it was presented was a most pleasant surprise, fine dining at a very reasonable price. Room was a little quirky with the sink positioned over the WC, but lots of character all over the building.

The position of the sink in the bathroom over the WC. Hard to wet shave when you have to straddle the toilet, and felt odd when brushing teeth.

We had an enjoyable stay. We would highly recommend this small hotel. Exceptional value for money. The hotel is set in lovely surroundings. We booked an evening meal in the restaurant. The food was exceptional and plentiful. We had a full Scottish breakfast again was exceptional. People who have written poor reviews are an insult to the owner and staff. There is no reason at the price you pay for your bed and breakfast for anybody to complain. Unfortunately you can't please everyone. Thank you for a lovely enjoyable stay.
