The Hosts were exceptional! They made me feel very welcome and comfortable. Breakfast was always excellent, with a good choice of options. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was very clean. This guest house is very well maintained. The location was just right for all the possible needs - from restaurants, to the city centre, to the University of Aberdeen,, to laundromats, to malls. This guest house is a walking distance from all of them. With several bus stops just down the road, and one almost directly in front of the property. I took a bus to the city centre on my departure today, and all I had to do was just walk across the road to the bus stop, less than a minutes walk! I would definitely recommend this guest house, and I'd definitely stay, when next I'm in Aberdeen. Thank you Charlie and Evelyn, for being such exceptional hosts.

The property is in a very busy location on the main route North A96. This considered there was absolutely no noise in the room . The ensuite was adequate and clean. The bed was super comfy and I slept very well. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to order. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Parking is a 1 minite walk behind the property and always spaces available in this premium location. Parking in Aberdeen is an absolute nightmare so this was very appreciated . I would definitely stay again . Thank you .

The only thing was the sink in the bathroom . It was extremely small ( type found in a spare loo ) and fiddly for shaving . Otherwise there was nothing I didn't like !

The breakfasts were absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend. The choice of food and willingness to give you what you wanted, gave this guest house the personal touch. The hosts were extremely pleasant and helpful. I liked that it was out of town (that's why I chose it), but it was an easy walk into town (or well serviced by buses). It was on the 727 bus route from / for the airport. I stayed in two rooms, they were both comfortable and pleasant.

The kettle needed replacing in room 7, there was no tea coffee making facilities in room 2. I was moved to room 7, which had an ensuite, but I wasn't told it would be more money until I went to pay. The extra £10 per night was well worth it, and I didn't mind at all, just I should have been told.

Evelyn and Charlie were very welcoming and accommodating throughout the stay. The room was very comfortable, a good size with a decent sized bathroom. It was very quiet, no noise from the road, even with the window open. The WiFi signal was strong and a good selection of TV channels. The breakfast was delicious and plenty of it. The parking was safe and close to the guest house. I will definitely return here if I come back to Aberdeen. Thank you for a lovely stay.

My recent two-night stay at this accommodation exceeded all expectations, providing an unforgettable experience from start to finish. From the moment I arrived until my departure, every aspect of my stay was exceptional. Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed by the hosts, whose genuine hospitality immediately made me feel at home. Throughout my stay, they consistently went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction, making themselves available to assist with any inquiries or needs I had. One of the highlights of my stay was the delicious breakfast served each morning. Overall, I cannot recommend this accommodstion highly enough.retreat, this establishment provides the perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and exceptional hospitality. I look forward to returning in the future.

The owners were very friendly, and very helpful. Charlie used to be in a groovy Blues band back in the day, and I’m assuming the Evelyn used to be a model. The check in was quick and easy. Plenty of free private parking behind the house, and it’s in a good location. The rooms were very good, and very clean. Loads of choices for breakfast, cereal, fruit, yoghurt and toast etc, with a super duper fry up. I was there with my two grown up daughters, they couldn’t manage all of their fry ups, so I finished them off! Great Success to me!! We would definitely stay there again. I enjoyed my 2 nights stay here very much. Evelyn and Charlie are very friendly and helpful. The single room is very clean and comfortable. I like the window seat with nice street views. It was delightful to see the pink and orange sky at sunset at 10pm from my room. The full English / Scottish breakfast (as I like black pudding) is really good and served quickly. The bus station is only a few metres away from the guest house, very convenient to go to the Union Street / city centre, or to the airport.

Fabulous, homely and welcoming guest house. Very clean, nice and comfortable facilities. Lovely white towels and bedding. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate in the room. Basic toiletries provided in generous sized bottles (shower gel, hand wash, shampoo). The grout and sealant around the en suite was all smart and a clean white colour. The toilet brush to me is a sign of attention to detail and I was very impressed to see a nice clean toilet brush with absolutely no sign of previous guests! Breakfast is worth the cost of the stay in itself. Cereal, fruit, juices, yoghurt, cheese, toast etc all available. Full English, Irish or a variation of these was cooked to order. Perfectly cooked, generous portions and enough to set you up for the day. Absolutely yummy!

Location was the only slight downside. It was a good 20 mins walk uphill from the city centre. We sometimes got a cab, but they have to drop you off down the road as the property is situated at traffic lights. However, there is no noise from the road when you are indoors so it does not detract from enjoying your stay.

I chose the Arkaig Guest House due to the impressive reviews from former guests and because I knew my son would enjoy the breakfast shown on their listing! We were not disappointed - this is down to the delightful hosts, Evelyn and Charlie. With easy parking, good location and spotless presentation, we recommend you make it your happy home from home when visiting The Granite City.

We were welcomed by the owners, Evelyn & Charlie, with the warmest of welcomes. The room was very clean and comfortable. And although situated on a main road, good windows kept the room nice and quiet. Breakfast was simply amazing. Cereals with fruits, yoghurts and juices. And a full breakfast to follow. Absolutely excellent. Arkaig also has the benefit of private parking spaces in the street around the back. It is then about a one minute walk to the front door. Perfect. Although we only stayed for one night. We cannot rate the Arkaig highly enough. And when we are in Aberdeen again, we will definitely stay here. A great find, and an absolute hidden gem. Thanks so much to Evelyn & Charlie for their lovely, friendly hospitality. We will definitely be back.
