Restaurant and breakfast were excellent. Lovely options. The tomato paprika soup was wonderful and the bread that went with it was amazing.

We understand it was very busy the days we stayed with tours and many other travelers, which made booking individual rooms very difficult to come by. But with this limitation, we still were able to make it work as the staff was able to set up the room to accommodate two individual travelers. Much appreciated.

Hot breakfast. Friendly staff. Very clean. Nice location. Our room was spacious, but it was a deluxe room. And there were no deluxe rooms near the elevator.

Very pricey. For over$400 US per night, I would have expected if not bell service, at least a bell cart to bring in our luggage. We were on our own, which as a handicapped person, was challenging.

Comfortable, friendly staff, clean, and a fantastic breakfast with lots of options. It's a great view from upstairs in the common areas. Check in/out was easy and we ate like kings. We'd absolutely stay there again.

This location seemed popular with tour groups, and our room was positioned so that we couldn't really get natural light without having passers by basically looking into it. It would be nice the have a privacy curtain that still allowed some natural night.

Restaurant and bar were excellent....very nice buffet for both dinner and breakfast that allowed us to have a wide variety including several Icelandic options. This was the most expensive hotel on our trip, but also the nicest. Really enjoyed our stay.

Not sure. It's extremely remote which might be a problem for some people, but wasn't an issue for us. It was a convenient location for us to do a glacier hike the next day at Vatnajokull before driving on to Jokulsarlon.

This was an excellent hotel, the room was spacious and the view was lovely. We ate in the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed the burger and soup. The breakfast choice was varied and plenty of it. The staff were most helpful when I asked for hot water for my flask. Overall this Hotel did exceed my expectations. Highly recommended.

I liked everything.

We loved that there was a trail around the hotel that included an elf church and elf city and other cultural sites. The food in the restaurant was delicious! It was possibly the best meals we had during our trip. The reception staff were the friendliest and most accommodating that we encountered. The rooms were comfortably sized. We also loved the enclosed rooftop terrace.

We didn't like it when a large group of travelers took over the space. It is a cozy hotel and these travelers impinged on our enjoyment. They took over the intimate dining area as well as the rooftop terrace with their bright phones and turning on the lights while were trying to spot the Northern lights. This was likely beyond control of hotel. But it demonstrates that everything that was within control of hotel was awesome.

breakfasts are spectacular! this is why we rate it high overall. also easy to find, clean, good Wi-Fi

I paid for the rooms in advance and it was not a nice surprise that I had to give my full credit card details written down on the reception “just in case”. with that data “a case” of leaking the money can happen to anyone even if you don’t break anything((

- Nice breakfast selection and plenty of space to accomodate many guests. Quality of the food was also very good - Friendly staff - Location is good, however only if you have a car. 15 min drive to Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon and about 1h 30 min to Diamond Beach and Jökulsárlón Lagoon - Rooms were quite spacious and modern - Large parking space in front of the hotel

- Dinner buffet is offered, though quite expensive (7500 ISK per person)

This was a last minute booking because I didn't want to stay in the hostel I had planned on. I was traveling alone and honestly I wanted my own room and my own shower. It was the only place available anywhere and I had to drive an hour away to find it (luckily it was on the Ring Road so it just shaved an hour off my driving the next day). The staff was really friendly and helpful both night and morning shift. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was decent, not the best offering on the trip.

The place is definitely older and the breakfast was average so I do feel like it was overpriced but that could be because I booked last minute. There are only so many options in the area and honestly, I was happy with my stay. Just be mentally.

Overall a great place in a beautiful location, with a more cozy feel. Great staff, unbeatable breakfast, and a tasty buffet dinner option. Rooms are a decent size. Lounge was warm and inviting with great cocktails, and a breathtaking patio.

The biggest bummer? For such a great place, it's not very lively - it's mostly older travelers, and the lounge was dead, which was sad! On top of that, it's a bit off the main road, so there's just not much going on in the area. Also, bathroom fan didn't work, room is mostly decked out in Ikea, and getting from the lobby to the rooms side with all your luggage is a little awkward.
