the attention from the staff was great. the food available in the restaurant was beyond superb. we will definitely stay there again.

There are no handrail on the stairs. For older people it’s a bit scary. The staff was very aware and offered to walk with me.

Location was perfect. Though there was a parade, a celebration or another street activity almost every morning and night, we loved this little gem. Our balconies gave us a Birds Eye view of all festivities. Violetta was always helpful and friendly. We had her arrange taxi/guide after our first day and we were very happy with the service and price of everyone she set up. Out room was big and lovely with all amenities and a great bathroom. We felt safe, secure and welcome. Breakfast is not included, but there is a very cool little breakfast/lunch restaurant in the courtyard.

If you want a quiet place at night, bring earplugs or try not to book a room facing the street.

All the staff were very helpful and kind, and the room was comfortable, clean and practical. The location was super close (literally a 2-minute walk) to the main square of the city, with lovely shops and restaurants within a 15-minute walk radius.

Please do not let this deter you from staying here, as it really was perfect in all other respects: On the Saturday night, there was a very loud event nearby which went on till about 02.00, so take earplugs just in case. Simply a compromise of staying right in the heart of this fantastic city.

Casa de la Asuncion was great! Would highly recommend. It's right next to the square with close access (less than 10 minute walk) to all the food and attractions within Centro. Violetta was great! Our Spanish isn't particularly good so it was super helpful that she spoke English, and was able to help us coordinate transportation and make reservations at restaurants. Overall - wonderful experience!

Because of the location and proximity to the square, sometimes it was a bit loud. Also we had a room with a sky light that was directly over the bed that woke us a bit earlier than we would have liked. And lastly the water temperature is really, really finicky.

Located in the heart of the city, it’s surrounded by the essence of Oaxaca. This is not a hotel in the traditional sense, unusually exquisite rooms in a beautifully renovated colonial courtyard building.

It’s hard to avoid loud music or car noises in Mexico. We had to give up street view for a windowless back room for peace and quiet. The good news is it was available and was no less wonderful. Violet was most understanding and helpful.

Spacious, clean, plenty of room for clothes, comfortable big beds, balcony, 2 bathrooms in our 2 connecting rooms family suite, fabulous location one block from the Zocalo, excellent and helpful staff/manager who had good suggestions for restaurants and shopping, nice restaurant downstairs open during the day

We liked everything about it!

Loved the location, which is right in the center of the city, steps away from the Zocalo. Beautiful modern rooms. I had the room with the balcony, and we would watch as festivals will spontaneously pass by. I plan on visiting Oaxaca again during the Guelaguetza and I will definitely stay here again. The owner was very helpful during our stay.

Great location close to the zocalo, restaurants and action. Violet was exceptional! She helped us with everything - scheduling taxis, tours to Monte Albon, etc, and recommendations! We will definitely stay he again.

No common areas (first floor is a small restaurant), no front desk after 3 pm, on a noisy street (AC important if you don’t want street noise), little natural light

Very happy with our stay! Excellent facility with friendly, wonderful staff! Excellent location close to many sites, activities in the city! And the food was great as well! Would highly recommend to anyone!
