The location of the hotel is perfect, close to Grand Central and Bryant Park. The room was fine with a super comfortable bed. The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome. The roof bar/restaurant has a very impressive view of the Empire State building. All in a great hotel, comfortable rooms which I would recommend.

The hotel charges a $33 a day destination fee. It provides discounts for the gym, parking and other experiences. When we checked in the staff didn't even mention it to us so had no idea. It is on the booking but a reminder would have been nice. In addition, I had no car to park (it's Midtown Manhattan and I am from the UK) and had no intention to use the gym. Feels like a total rip off and mounts up if you are staying for a long time.

Beds were very comfortable and rooms were a good size, lovely decor with big windows. Shower took a little while to heat up. Rooftop bar view is 10/10! Drinks are kind of expensive up there and cannot be charged to the room.

Upon arrival we were told there was an $100 a night ($300 in our case) deposit required and would be returned on departure. We were not informed of this beforehand in any way and it came as a massive surprise to two college students who had budgeted quite hard for their trip to New York!

The location is perfectly central to anything you want to do in NYC.

Some rooms face the courtyard and therefore my room was dark due to no sunlight. I wasn’t in the room that much during the day so it really didn’t affect my stay. It was just noticeable in the morning when I prepared to go out for the day.

Location amazing for exploring, check in/out was with with reception very helpful. Gym fine and great to have bag storage ahead of late evening departure. Room well equipped but small (see below).

Room was very tight for two double beds, we could barely walk around the bed with no where to put suitcases. Photos have been cleverly taken. Room cleaning was OK but typically went the extra mile on the last day! We didn't take breakfast at the hotel because we were up and out early. The bar doesn't open until evening, so no where during the day to sit and have a drink/coffee beyond restaurant.

Good location. Close to the NY Public Library and Bryant Park. Front Desk stuff were very helpful meeting our needs generally. I would like to recognize Jacquline at the front desk desk, who went above and beyond our expectations for customer service. She’s dedicated, smart and provides solutions not excuses and apologies. She was great. Please reach out to her for a job well done.

The rooms are too hot. Needed to switch rooms multiple times to get a room with decent air conditioning. Mx staff would work the problem, say it was “fixed” and leave us to an increasingly hot room. Fans helped some, but there are not enough of them to go around.

Location is great.

Bathroom door did not close properly. Top bar was booked for a private party. Total let down not being able to hang out there. The rooms not facing outside might as well have painted on windows. The view sucked.

We stayed here (room only) for 4 nights with our 6 year old daughter and were pleasantly surprised with just how great this hotel is! A very warm welcome from Charmaine on reception, we were checked in very quickly and efficiently and Charmaine was happy to provide any advice needed. We had a room with 2 Queen beds and I was impressed by the fact that there was still room to move around - whilst it wasn’t spacious, there was more room than I thought there would be for such a central hotel. And the bathroom was a really good size, particularly the shower, loads of room! And well designed so the bathroom/mirror didn’t actually steam up when the shower was in use! A good sized fitness room (although no air con!) and the 3 lifts worked well and you didn’t have to wait long at all for one. I also loved the fact that the room came equipped with an ironing board and iron, so no messing about having to request one! Housekeeping also did a brilliant job, thank you! The hotel is in a superb midtown location, very close to Grand Central Station and the Empire State Building, and only a 15 min walk to Rockefeller Centre.

One of the things I liked about the hotel upon booking was that it had a rooftop bar. What it failed to make clear was that the rooftop bar is run separately to the hotel, so when we went up on the Saturday night for a drink and to watch the sunset we were told it was fully booked. This was very disappointing as it wasn’t made clear on check in or booking that you would have to book to use it, or that it was only open from tea-time onwards.

If the cleaning staff came the room was spotless but oftentimes they didn’t come at all or only upon request and strange times (late in the afternoon) I was often out in the morning and then came back to the room without it having been cleaned. Then I requested at the front desk that they come clean it at a specific time, so I could plan it accordingly, and they just showed up earlier. It seemed to me this is not at all the cleaning staffs’ fault but that of the ppl coordinating the cleaning. I was there for 10 days in total
