Great location in East Midtown, close to great bars and eateries and a few minutes walk to the subway/bus. Surprisingly quite due to location of room away from the busy streets of NYC.

It’s accessed via a very cool select entertaining venue, which meant at times the steps to the building were difficult to access and doormen operated. This was only an occasional issue but did make it difficult to get in or out at times. Definitely would not stop me from staying again.

Location and staff was friendly

Didn't like the unusual Check-in method (check-in in advance, having to upload an image of the ID Document and have to sent a selfie ) and It was not very pleasant to realize that from the end of the day no one from the staff remains in the Hotel. (There is no Night Auditor) Stayed in a nice, spacious and very well equiped room but that in my opinion should also be equiped with a table or a desk (even if it was just a small one)! Despite it is an Hotel, in some sense it shows some similarities with a AIRBNB as regards to a "couple" of details/procedures We are not fans of AIRBNB procedures But overall it is a nice Hotel and we enjoyed our stay

As an old social club, the building is beautiful, and it's amazing to have a speakeasy with multiple rooms downstairs. Very friendly workers who will get you whatever you need. The room was comfy with lots of light.

The hallways and elevator, in the dead of summer, could use some sort of air whether a conditioner or fan. Not a dealbreaker, but sometimes waiting for the elevator can get very hot. But that was my only gripe!

with a city hotel you usually choose 2 out of three in terms of price, quality and location. however this hotel felt like a perfect combination of all three! cannot fault the location by any means, the price was on the lower end for Manhattan and it was a nice place to stay!

it wasn’t made clear that you don’t get your room cleaned unless you pay per clean. this wasn’t an issue by any means (in fact I don’t always like people entering my room whilst I’m away!) but it did mean that the tea/coffee ran out pretty fast and we nearly ran out of toilet paper also. it wasn’t until the last day when I read far down on the app that there was a store cupboard to help yourselves to room necessities. I am all for them running the hotel like this, it’s a great idea I just wish it was made clearer before booking or during the stay.

The queen suite is very large and nicely appointed. It works perfectly for us because my husband can work in the living room while I hang out in the bedroom. The shower was nice and big and the bath products were high quality. We also really liked having a kitchenette with a Nespresso coffee maker. We loved having the Tartinery and also a Pret a Manger right around the corner.

I would have loved to have had a bathrobe. That was the one thing that I really missed. The first time we stayed at the William, we were a bit surprised that most of the first floor is taken over by a speakeasy. However, now that we know the set up, it does not bother us at all.

Great location! Just outside of the main hustle and bustle of midtown but still very close to grand central and all other main attractions. Staff were friendly and helpful. The bar downstairs was such a cosy little place - has the “how I met your mother” vibes!

Some of the fittings could have been tidied up a little.

Great location, huge room (had the 2 bed studio) with seating area & kitchenette. beds comfy & decent sized bathroom with good shower pressure. Laundry facilities helpful too. Super friendly doorman.

Shower was slow draining, requested twice to have it cleared but either didn’t bother or it didn’t work. If you’re on level 2, above the bar, bring earplugs as you’ll need them. If not for the music, then for the noisy fridge & aircon. Communication with the hotel prior to arriving was poor despite their automated email asking you to let them know if you needed anything to ensure your stay with them was great.

This is my second time staying at The William and it was brilliant. Great location, beautiful and clean rooms, and lovely staff. There was a member of staff in particular (I believe the concierge) that went the extra mile to accommodate me. I'm coming back to New York at the end of May and hope to stay here again, however it looks like the price has gone up significantly with only a couple of rooms left, so I assume my trip clashes with an event being held there. Nevertheless, I would definitely recommend and hope to stay here again one day.

The room was amazing and very big for the price we paid. The location is also incredible - it's located two blocks from Grand Central, a walk away from Times Square and major tourist attractions like the Empire State building and the Rockefeller Centre. The staff were very helpful and accommodating as well.

We didn't mind it, but if you are sensitive to noise, please be mindful that The William is the location of an incredibly popular bar called the Raines Law Room, which was almost fully occupied every night we stayed there. As a result there was often loud, thumping music from below (we did stay on the second floor, however). Furthermore, there was an unknown alarm sound that would not go away until the morning. If you are a heavy sleeper this isn't too much of an issue, but if you are awoken by noise than this might be an issue.

Clean and tidy, large room, modern and loved the wardrobe with the light and mirror on the door. Lift to get luggage up and down. Large window and curtains blocked out the noise from outside. Very comfortable bed.

Could’ve done with some drawers, but this was the only thing missing.
