The hotel is an interetsting design and has plenty of eateries and friendly staff.

I thought it was a bit rough that the television channels wouldn't work - and there was not really any compensation applied - eg room discount or voucher given this is a pretty basic expectation and we were not advised until we were there. Also - a small thing as i didn't use this anyway - when you give someone a voucher for a complimentary drink you should really just let them choose the drink they want or else don't bother as it just makes you seem less generous not more generous when you limit to a house wine or something similar.

Fantastic! The customer service was amazing and the hotel is so beautiful. Renovated to be modern and comfortable whilst maintaining the buildings old charm and uniqueness. The rooms were clean and the bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve had in a hotel. The location was fantastic and close to everything. I was also impressed with the sound proofing of the room. We stayed on level 2 above the restaurants which were quite noisy but the moment we closed the door no noise came into the room at all. Exceptional hotel and fantastic value for money. Will 100% stay here again.

I stayed in room 113 (Level 1) so easy access via the stairs from the lobby. The room had high ceilings and overlooked Hay Street, which was quiet in the morning and during the day, with good morning sun. The bed was super comfy and the pillows as well. I also enjoyed eating each night at the pub within the hotel, they had a yummy chicken parmigiana with salad and fries and a good selection of Australian reds by the glass! They also had an internal cafe with a a good selection of cakes and cookies. I like the location here as your on the fringe of the CBD and a simple walk to all amenities. Some of the surrounding cafes tend to close early but with amenities in-house no big deal.

I had zero complaints during my stay, this is actually my second stay and would rate this hotel a 10/10 with zero faults that I could find.

Great Hotel for our 2-night stay, from arriving early staff were so accommodating in early access to the room. Room was above our expectations, and we were surprised in actual size of the room. Bathroom facilities very good with small bottles of quality bathroom products which was appreciated, not the large bottle with plunger pumps that are wall mounted which seems to be the norm these days. Breakfast downstairs was also above expectations with extremely friendly staff. Will use this hotel for future stays.

Nothing to dislike during our 2 night stay

Location of hotel and products in room were good.

The room I was initially given had a very strong food smell coming from the restaurant kitchen below. When I requested another room they only had an interior room with no view outside. Not ideal, but I was given an option to move the next night but as I was only staying another night I declined. Upon arriving back to my room on the last evening, there was a bottle of prosecco waiting and a note from management apologising for the room issue. Much appreciated.

Loved the decor. The mix of the original Hotel and the new elements in the building design were stunning. The room was very comfortable. Loved the little door leading to the verandah. Loved the rooftop bar. Loved the restaurant too....delicious with amazing service. Thank you. Loved the fact you could pop down for an easy breakfast and order from a menu. The bar area was lovely too. This property had everything we needed for our short stay.

Good location. Obviously the hotel is on a busy corner but once room doors shut most of the noise was dulled. We had a room opening onto the veranda which was nice. We thought the food in the restaurant was very good, and good value. The staff in the restaurant were very helpful. Liked the fact that we could order at the bar but able to sit out in the quietier eating area. We were there for ANZAC day which was great but the restaurant was closed completely even in the evening. Many eating places were closed, we met several hungry tourists purchasing nibbles in the corner shop opposite!

Nothing really to complain about.

The Melbourne Hotel forms an ideal spot for a city-stay in Perth. Room 110 is very comfortable and offers all facilities. Extra : balcony on the 19th century-style terrace. Special mentioning : excellent housekeeping with full "treat" even the second day of our stay (which is rather rare). Fine breakfast and dinner possibilities in-house.

Minor remark : some better/more clear information about the neighbourhood carpark facilities should be provided (also by reception staff)

The hotel is beautifully renovated, with modern furnishings and a comfy bed. Perfect location for central Perth, short walk from the train station. The roof top bar was a lovely place to go to enjoy a drink before heading out for the night.

Minor issue... the modern fitted bathroom doesn't have a fan. But the hotel has a note in the shower that if bathroom door is left open, and the steam of the shower sets off the fire alarm, a $700 fine would apply. For less convenience and less threatening to everyone, a fan could be install.

The Melbourne is centrally located in Perth. The building is well designed and kept clean. Reception staff are friendly and easy to talk with. The room had a nice outlook, with a pleasant, functional and clean feel. It's also a walkable distance to King's Park and the Botanic Gardens.

Car parking is either at the adjacent car park ($30 per entry) or at a Wilson car park just around the corner ($17 per entry, quite good by Perth standards). Unfortunately, the Hotel desk staff did not communicate the location or name of the Wilson car park well enough to my husband, so he parked in another car park 100m down the road by mistake (costing $32, not a total disaster). When he realised this, the hotel staff would not take any responsibility or provide any actual help. They need to be much more clear about how to find the correct car park – guests may arrive tired and disoriented, so need extra consideration for things like this.
