Breathtaking views. Very very cozy cabin, small yet roomy.
I didn’t like the fact that if you choose not to do your own cleaning there’s a heavy cleaning fee. Sure it’s a small private cozy cabin, but if you include the cleaning fee, it’s even more expensive than the hotel 100 metres away.

One of the few options available near Geiranger where we can have 3 persons, have a kitchen to cook and free parking. The check in guy was friendly and nice. Thankfully we got a cabin with a parking space next to it without steps. Overall, it was a cosy cabin with lovely fjord views, adequate given the lack of better options.
Would have been more comfortable if the cabins are a bit bigger (after all we are not in a city constraint by space, only by how much land one owns). The space was too tight for 3 people with any luggage, let alone large ones. There also isn't enough space to hang towels. Some of the cooking utensils were also blackened from long use and not the cleanest.

This camping site is on the northern bank of Geirangerfjord, so you have very good view of the fjord from every cottage on the site. You can also see this site from every cruise ship sailing along the fjord, which we did. It is only 5 min drive to Geiranger town/port, so very handy to visit the town and nearby attractions. Our one-Bedroom Cottage is spacious and well equipped, capable of accommodating up to 4 adults plus a child. The site has a laundry room, which has a 8kg standard domestic washing machine and a domestic tumble dryer. You just need to buy a token at NOK 80 at the site office to use either of them.
It is a bit surprise and awkward for all guests to collect the beddings on check-in and make the beds themselves upon arrival. All beds are a bit difficult to get in as the double bed in the bedroom has a single bunk bed on top and another double bed is in the attic with limited headroom and requires climbing a vertical ladder to get in.

This is my second time staying here (First time was 15 years ago.) It is such a beautiful location, and the cabins are so nice. We stayed in a 2 bedroom cabin and had plenty of space. I love that it is down the street from town, so you don't have to feel so crowded. It was so peaceful. The deck space was so nice to have for morning coffee and dinners outside. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. They answered any questions we had and helped us on our last day figure out a different route since the Trollstigen ended up being closed down. Tip: do your grocery shopping before you get there. Groceries in Alesund were much cheaper.
Our shower did not drain properly, but I let the staff know. Wasn't a huge inconvenience, but that is the only thing that I could say needed some work.

When we arrived at the "Grande Hytteutleige og Camping", the receptionist welcomed us with an opening sentence "Welcome to Paradise". I just wanted to tell that this sentence is correct, no overestimate/delusional or anything. Our family of four, have stayed in cabin no. 9 for 3 nights. We all thought the same as this camping is indeed a "paradise on Earth". The cabin was really good, clean, and have all facilities we needed. If you have car, there's no worry cause the parking area is just in front of the cabin, very comfortable and free. Also it was a perfect place to have dinner on balcony and watch the breathtaking view of the fjord. Most importantly, this place has one of the best wifi as we have stayed in several places in Norway so no worry if you want to do a live or post photo/videos to your family/friends online in order to witnessing this heaven together. All in all, if we visit Geiranger next time, we will absolutely book this room again. For anyone who hesitates on where to stay at Geiranger, we would highly recommend this place. And you will not be dissapointed! Ps. the staff was really helpful and active. He's willing to answer all of our question/curiosities to the fullest. I don't know his name but he was a man from Swedish so I wanted to shout out to him. He's literally a good spokesperson for this camping, he just made us have a good first impression with this place.
We really have nothing to complain as everything was just as good as we expected.

The view from the cabin is incredible. The cabin was cozy, clean and equipped with everything. We really enjoyed the sunset in the veranda. There was a room with a bunk bed with a bathroom, a French bed in a mezzanine and a living room. On booking we read we had to rent or bring our own towels and bed sheets but actually it was not needed and they gave it us for free. Parking spot included in front of the apartment. Staff was friendly.
Not important but the oven is not in the house but is closeby the reception. Same for the cleaning that is not included ( but is written) but since the apartment is not a big place it was quick.

Our stay at Grande Hytteutleige was perfect for our short stay in Geiranger. The staff was wonderful and always super helpful. The cabins are nestled in the heart of the fjord, offering some truly unmatched views. The cabin really had everything that we needed for our few days there. It's also a very quick drive over to the 'downtown'.
Needing clean the apartment ourselves to avoid the cleaning fee. All in all it only took us about 30-45 mins to clean and they provided all the cleaning equipment, but of course no one wants to clean on vacation.

Great place to stay at. We had two bedrooms, heated floor in the bathroom, amazing view of the fjord from the window, sweet porch (didn't use it because it was raining occassionally), great kitchen with everything needed, a parking spot for us. The closest supermarket wad a 6 minute drive. You could walk it, but it means walking on the road.
The location is not the best but it is not bad, just not as inconvenient as could be. However, the location just one step from the fjord is worth everything!

How beautiful it was! View of the fjord where everything passed by, from large cruise ships to small RIP boats that went hard around the bend further into the Geirangerfjord (so towards the sea because the campsite was almost at the end of the fjord). Very nice cabin, especially because of the view. A house that also offers sufficient comfort, although the sofa looks more comfortable than it actually is. Nice that there is a microwave, but it would have been even nicer if there were items that can be used in the microwave, such as a dish to warm something up. Very friendly staff!

It was the perfect location. Not IN Geiranger, where all the cruise passengers flooding the small streets but 3 Minutes away so you can go there in the evening and eat (try out Berserk!!! So good!!) The views are wonderful and it is very quiet (at least in the first weeks of June) apart from the waterfall behind the huts 😄 The hut is big enough for two and has a tasteful and modern style. The beds where okay but it is a little difficult because one person has to climb over the other to get out with another single bed above his head (bunk bed) and the second double is directly under the roof…nothing for people with claustrophobia . The kitchen is small but enoug to make breakfast. A really big patio in front of the house treats you with views over the Fjord and mountains. We also rented a Kajak which was awesome! Big recommendation!
It would be great to have a normal bed and maybe an air conditioner because it gets really hot inside.
