We had a beautiful view of the fjord from our 4th floor room. Dinner buffet was excellent, lots of choices and beautifully displayed, but pricey. Staff service throughout hotel was excellent.

Love the spa facilities. Love the location. Love the staff they were very accommodating. Loved the two included meals.

Of course there’s no air conditioning, which is understandable given its location. However, we should probably have fans. Unfortunately, with global warming, the summers are hotter, and if you can’t circulate air, being comfortable is a challenge. We love the dinners, but we really would have preferred something different with the meals. There is no theme night like let’s do Asian food. I think you gotta get more creative to serve those individuals who are vegan or vegetarian.

Everything about this hotel is absolutely fantastic. The staff were lovely and very helpful, catering to my dietary requirements making me feel safe and spoilt for choice with gluten free options at the buffet breakfast and dinner. We specifically came for the pools which we throughly enjoyed, staying open late and enjoying swimming on the roof in the rain! Complimentary slippers were a surprise and very helpful bonus.

We unfortunately couldn’t afford a fjord view room, and the mountains view room we had was mostly of the carpark and some tree’s however, the tree’s covered a rushing stream feeding into the fjord which created a lovely melody to our stay and was impressive to take a look at before leaving.

The location goes without question as the best in Geiringer, the hotel itself had great facilities, including the Spa. The room was good, the Al la Carte restaurant excellent and the food also good. The reception was excellent and very understanding when we told them that our two night stay could now only be one as we needed to get home. They reduced the price without us even asking. Car parking was plentiful and free. Nothing was too much trouble, and the surrounding walk down the waterfall was excellent

Coach parties, plenty of them and they bring with them poor manners and swamp the areas of the hotel generally with disregard to individual guests. The linen in the room could do with some improvement for a 4/ 5 star hotel.

A carefully maintained hotel that overlooks the Fjord. Our room was small but clean and we had a beautiful view. Breakfast was wonderful with many options to choose from. Parking was free next to the hotel and there is a walking path nearby which follows a waterfall down to the pier area so even though you're up on a mountain it only takes about ten minutes to walk down and you're not walking on the busy highway.

We checked in and were not asked for our credit card and so assumed they had our information already (and had received an earlier message from booking.com that they did). We also checked out through the office. Later, we received a message that we had left with our bill unpaid and they had no record of our credit card. We called and paid it over the phone but it was a hassle. I guess for future travelers, inquire at the desk whether or not they need your credit card prior to leaving. We thought they should have asked for it either coming or going, or for incidentals as most hotels do, but they didn't.

Location - not in the town itself, but 10 min on foot (upstairs but going along local waterfall), allowing fantastic fjord views. Several shorter hikes (e.g. those to/from Westeras) also may be started from the hotel itself. Convenient parking (despite not big) where you leave the car for the entire stay without parking headache. Good size room and bathroom, comfortable bed, and plenty of common space (bar, activity room, shop, museum etc.). Good wi-fi. And of course, the Spa! indoor swimming pool was a nice change of activity after a day of hiking, and open-air jacuzzi with fjord view allowed for pleasant after-dinner passtime (both open till 22:30). You can also have classic spa services like massage and facials till 19:00. Plentiful breakfast and mind-blowing dinner buffet (mussels and langoustines at free access!). There are also a couple of cafe/pizza places for lunch. I will certainly look no further when next time in Geiranger!

The hotel is not new, but it's well maintained. It's also a bit crowded, but that's because of it's size. Also, dinner buffet (NOK760 in Jul 2024) is good value for what it offers; but it's clearly not for the light-eaters:)

Funny about room reservations in Norway - when you arrive to the hotel they give you the worst room possible. But after you ask to change the room, the personnel appears to be friendly and nice, and they change the room to your satisfaction. Exactly this happened in this hotel, and they have lovely rooms with the mountain/river view indeed.

The dinner at the hotel restaurant couldn’t be called great. It’s just normal and expensive dinner, as always in Norway.

We stayed here for one night, having caught the ferry from Alesund (3 hours). The walk up the hill from Geiranger to the hotel via the Waterfall Walk was spectacular. We stopped many times to take photos. We had booked a fjord view room, which was quite large, nicely decorated, and which indeed had a wonderful view of the fjord below. The hotel itself is very well appointed and staff at reception were friendly and helpful. We had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant and both were very good. The Norwegian Fjord Centre was just opposite the hotel. It had good displays and was very informative. We also spent some time in the Vintage Car Museum which is in the basement of the hotel, a nostalgic step back in time. Geirangerfjord and this hotel were one of the highlights of our holiday in Norway.

There was nothing we didn't like. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The hotel sits on a waterfall and has a view of the fjord. the spa was excellent with 3 pools and sauna. One of the pool is a heated external pool where you can relax watching the view of the mountains. We ate a buffet dinner and breakfast at the hotel, both were wonderful. The hotel also features an indoor play area, a bar, free parking for guest. excellent hotel.

To get from the hotel to the port is 15 minutes by walk downhill (the way back is 15 minutes uphill). we had a car, so there was no problem, but if you don't have one you need to walk.
