We was staying in newer building floor 10 in room with the view to the fjord, this room was also booked in advance. So we got what we wished for! Room was a litle oldish, but clean, and had everything you need, everything was also working, so no complanes. Bed was comfortable. The best thing i gues was the balcony with the view to fjord, we spendid many hours there just sitting and enjoing the scenery. Breacfast was perfect in every way, food was good and versastile.

Car parking was a bit challenging cause there is no dedicated parking, there is but nobody actually knows whos cars are there, but if you see location youll understand lack of space especielly during summer peak season.

I paid for the view upgrade and it was outstanding! All of staff were friendly and helpful. We were very happy to be able to eat in the restaurant, as everthing else in the location was packed, and the food was excellent. We ate early, as was recommended by the front desk staff just before a large tour group arrived and were purposely seated away from them by the hostess. That was much appreciated.

Like EVERY hotel there is no air conditioning. So it is warm to sleep without opening the sliding door. Apparently smoking is allowed in the balconies and we suddenly found our room filled with smoke. Not sure how this could be addressed. Parking is a huge problem and costly. Only public parking is available at about $4 US dollars an hour and difficult to find as the area is very crowded. Anyone staying here needs to be aware that huge cruise ships dock near the hotel. But if you plan ahead this can be worked around.

Very clean and comfortable room, on 10'th floor, with a fantastic view over the water. The balcony, with chairs and table, was our favorite spot, overlooking the water and mountains. Also it was very silent. No noisy could be heard from the surrounding. We slept very good. The breakfast was fantastic. Everything you could wish for.

To find a parking, for our car, was up to us. Luckily we found a free spot down by the harbor. It cost us 331 NOK to stay for 19 hours. I didn't like to wait for exactly 15:00 hours to checking. I suspect the room was ready before that.

The staff was very friendly and helpful! Moa and her international, English-speaking colleagues assisted me by printing out some documents I needed. The panoramic view from my balcony room over the harbor at Geiranger was amazing. I was there to join a cruise ship, and I was able to watch my ship arrive and anchor that morning while sipping a coffee with the gorgeous fjord all around. The WiFi works very well in both my room and in the hotel lobby and breakfast room. The breakfast was, in good Scandinavian tradition, delicious, healthy and comprehensive, including blueberries, fresh salmon and eggs and plenty of muesli, yoghurt, juice, cereal and coffee. IMattress felt comfy and shower had great pressure and quick hot water.I love the location just above the harbor and with a pleasant hill-to-mountain walk behind the hotel. A convenient grocery store is 5 minutes away, just at the fjord's edge.

I wish I could afford to stay longer! Geiranger is spectacular, even when it has to deal with tourists. No complaints about Hotel Havila; the staff and property are excellent.

We paid for a Fjord view room and were very happy with our 9th floor room with a good view of the Fjord. It had a balcony with two chairs so we were able to relax and look out at the view. Breakfast was ok but a fairly factory affair due to the size of the hotel. The town is tiny and you will have no problem walking from the port. We found that entering from the road was easiest, otherwise you need to enter through some gift shop on the front side of that lower building.

In the morning we had the displeasure of seeing two large cruise boats in port. That's not the fault of the hotel but a reminder to enjoy the view while you have it. Even with the boats its a good view but its fairly abrupt once they pull in.

Location is absolutely perfect, our view from the room was fantastic. Breakfast is very good, a lot of choices and variety.

The rooms… that’s a different story. There is no place to put a suitcase, not even a luggage rack or any shelves for clothing. And the bathroom… there is a tub, about 25 inches (60cm) high. And you have to climb into it to be able to shower, no rails whatsoever (I am sure my parents wouldn’t be able to climb into it) When you make it into the tub, the shower hose is short, so you have to duck to rinse, no hook for the shower hose. The toilet is loose, and forget about a soft closing toilet seat. The rooms need update urgently

Great position - great view (we went for the sea view room). But you have the same magnificent view from the breakfast place, floor 6, and from the lounge, floor 7. Very comfy beds & nice staff! Breakfast buffet was delicious & in good variety.

Typical issue with parking, like in whole Geiranger: expect to pay quite an important amount per hour / 40 NOK between 8-20 (free during the night from 20-8) via easypark app. The rooms in the hotel are a bit old fashioned - and overall the value for money is not really balanced. But since Geiranger is strictly floded with tourists, prices are reflected accordingly in everything. If we were to do it again, we'd make Geiranger a nice day spot not an over-night stay.

The view from the balcony was just perfect. Breakfast was adequate but not as good as other hotels we stayed in. On our last morning there was a power cut (in the whole area) I was disappointed that the hotel did not appear to have a generator or even a gas alternative to ensure that their guests were able to have a hot breakfast. When an under manager was told of this disappointment he indicated there was nothing they could do. I beg to differ. An alternative means of cooking should have been in place.

A hot breakfast on the day we left.

Hotel is situated on the heart of Geiranger .. this is best hotel with great view from rooms and the from the dining hall. The view from the hotel was really amazing :) ,

I stayed for 2 days i got a room facing front of the Fjords but it was in the lower floor the front building was kind of blocking my view , I had to connect to the reception and pay extra to raise to higher floor. Default when we book from booking.com we are not getting the right rooms from the beginning. Rooms are bit smaller for a family with 2 kids on the day 1 in the lower floor. second day after the upgrade it was bit spacious.

Location Location Location Simply its all about the Location, perfect setting overlooking the Fjord. We had a balcony with fjord view, which was perfect. Small town, but with enough small shops and restaurants to pass our two nights. Plenty of activities in the area, water based and inland. We did the Waterfall trail and hired a small motorboat aswell. Nearby viewpoints inland are definitely worth a visit. Overall hotel was comfortable and a great breakfast.

Hairdryer went pop on first day and despite taking to reception it wasn't replaced. Minor issue.
