Quirky, but hospitable. The staff was very friendly even being very laid back. The attitude dragged us down to a relaxed being. Hey. I’m on vacation, why get all wound up? I could have just gone to a big box chain if I wanted that. Food was really good as was the beer. Location was killer. I’m not a dog fan, but even with the dogs around, I was chill. And. Beer tokens if you reuse your bathroom towels. I was never so motivated to hang ‘em up for a second use.

No Air Con. The loft style of bedroom made it real uncomfortable at night. Their highly touted Dyson fan just reminded me it was 27C at night sleeping. There were windows, but not adjacent and couldn’t be opened. In design, with the large loft design, they should have put in a ceiling fan.

Everything! Less than 10 min walk from the train station. Check in by a very friendly staff member who offered us a complimentary drink each and then took us to our rooms, Punk suites, he even carried our case so we didn't spill the beer! The rooms were very spacious with everything you needed. Bed and pillows were super comfy which was upstairs, bathroom with walk in shower downstairs, two seater couch in living room area, kitchen had a dishwasher, fridge with small freezer, small hob and oven. Automatic blinds which were great as we had a lot of windows, the lights were a bit confusing, some you had to double switch but no big deal. One room was Mango and one Mistletoe both rooms had different layouts. As it was our son's birthday we arranged for the shower fridge package in his room £25, well worth it and he took the leftover beer home with him. There was a lovely note in his room wishing him happy birthday with a can of marshmallow flavour beer in place of cake which was a nice touch. We had fun playing vinyls and fooling about with the guitar even though none of us can play. We used the mini bar and some of the snacks, also sat in the guest lounge and ate some free pic and mix another nice touch. Breakfast was amazing choices and delicious, we didn't eat dinner but have booked for dinner in February as we were impressed and already booking our next trip to stay there. One of the best quirky, spacious, fun comfortable and quiet hotels I've stayed in, never wanted to spend so much time in hotel bedroom before, perfect for a birthday treat, looking forward to going back.

The welcome efficient and bright. The room was brilliantly designed.. The attitude to the dog and her needs impeccable. The numerous touches for those staying delightful. As was the lounge areas. Service and food cannot be faulted. Kitchen area and available snacks and drinks added to the feeling of comfort .

I understand the limits of the rooms but an actual bath would have been luxurious. No coathangs. Also no easy way to show our appreciation. ( we had no cash on us)

room (punk suite) absolutely perfect. little extra touches like guitar and record player where great. it was so comfortable and spacious. all the staff where very friendly and helpful, and the free welcome drink was a lovely touch. the hotel is in a great location at the bottom of the mile. would definitely stay here again, or recommend it to anyone thinking of staying.

only uncomfortable bit was going into the shared guest space. People where working in there on laptops with headphones and there was a group of men having a meeting of some sort in very low voices. we wanted to chill out there for a bit but it felt extremely awkward and we got glared at by one of the laptop users for laughing, who was on a teams call of some sort. felt like we were intruding into someone's office, so we left after just a couple of minutes. as all the rooms are off this space it made it feel a bit awkward coming and going, like you had to be silent as people are working, but we were on holiday! but that was the only thing really, otherwise we totally loved it

We absolutely loved our stay at the DogHouse during the Fringe Festival, we knew it would be good but it completely exceeded our expectations. From the moment we walked in MiKo was amazing and made us feel so welcome with a round of drinks and a tour. I'd pre-arranged some balloons in one of the rooms as a suprise for my friends birthday and it was all perfectly arranged and revealed! We stayed in the Nanny State room on the first floor which was a huge studio apartment with the bed on a mezzanine level. The bed was super comfy and the linen was so soft. The bedroom also had a Dyson fan which was much appreciated. So many small touches made it such a great stay and the ability to WhatsApp the hotel made things really easy including ordering the epic late night hotdogs. Breakfast was delicious (options included a full English, maple pancakes and bacon, croissant breakfast burger, avo on toast etc.) It was also served for much longer than standard hotels - until 3pm! This worked well for us having lots of late nights out at the Fringe. Location was perfect, a short walk to the station and just off the mile without being in a crazy busy location. Would 100% recommend. Thank you to the Brew Dog team for an epic stay, hopefully we'll be back! 🤘

We love this hotel. Funky, friendly and fun. Breakfast is awesone and the little extra touches are lovely. Refill your own water, chill in the lovely residents lounge, grab a coffe or some sweets. Handy for everywhere but still chiiled out. All the rooms are as good as each other and very well fitted out. Get rewarded with beer for being tidy, what is there not to like?

If pushed for a negative, we would love a bigger bed as we sleep in a super king at home. However the beds are really comfy and the bedding is good quality. Other than that it is really hard to say we don't like anything. We are returning customers so iy ticks all our boxes or we would go elsewhere.

I absolutely loved my stay at DogHouse Edinburgh! The property is fantastic, with a quiet lounge area exclusively for hotel guests, offering plenty of great amenities. One of the coolest features was the option to have a keg in the room and a well-stocked beer fridge—such a unique and fun touch. The free breakfast was excellent, with tasty food and plenty of options to choose from. Both the 21 and 23-year-olds in our group, as well as the adults, were all wowed by their stay here. The atmosphere was lively and fun, and the staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, making the experience even better. Everything from the rooms to the food exceeded our expectations. Such a cool hotel especially for a craft beer lover. Even if you set aside the beer aspect, this hotel is great and the room had so many little extras and details normal hotels wouldn’t (or would charge extra for). Huge hot breakfast in the morning, a couple of welcome pints at checkin, a free candy bar… and on top of that incredibly easy access to all the famous sights of Edinburgh and a short walk from the train station. Staff was outgoing and helpful. Miko checked us in, showed us around and gave us some great food and music recommendations. We only got to stay one night but wished it was longer!

Nothing!

This is really a place where everything is just right, from the general atmosphere, to the people, the graphic and interior design, little attentions, humorous touches and central location. We really loved our stay here and enjoyed the nice food and great beers as well. Totally recommend.

Only reason why we didn’t give a 10 is that the air extraction in the room is working so exceptionally well that it tends to get a bit cold. The fancy Dyson solves this in a matter of minutes but it’s the only ‘negative’ point we can think of.

Loved the decor and the spacious feeling. All the windows made it feel so large. The lighting was really creative. Really nice to have a kitchen. Staff were very helpful and responsive. I have pet allergies so I really appreciated getting a pet free room at the last minute. It was surprisingly quiet

The kitchen needed to be better equipped. More cups, a bit more silverware, a kitchen towel. Would have been nice if one of the refrigerators had more non-alcoholic choices and diet drinks.
