Was a cool rural area and a nice place

The booking doesn't require communication from staff its a self check in, although the communication was very good and clear some of the rules could be communicated a little less patronisingly, although I think that's due to previous guest causing trouble. Be aware in rural locations everything is cash only and the last buses finish really early, around 6.30pm. You could be stick with a very expensive taxi otherwise

The host was amazing! Location was great. We accidentally mistook the dates and arrived a day early. The host was so mice, he came in 10 minutes with a cleaner and allowed us to check in and cleaned the place for us. We were only a couple, and we had the whole big house for ourselves. It’s so big and full of amenities, that we didn’t use much. We only used 1 toilet, 1 bedroom and bathroom. The washing machine had dryer so it was super convenient. The place is only a few steps to bus and train station. Locates in a quiet area, midway between volcano point and skywalk point. Super nice! 10/10

It was great to have a large private house all to ourselves. It was clean and pleasant, the kitchen was well equipped, and it's easy to get everywhere around the Hakone area by bus or train. For railway enthusiasts, you can easily walk to two of the railway switchbacks. There's a convenience store next to Ohiradai station (a 2-minute walk) and a few more stores at a 10-minute bus ride. The owner was available for questions and helped us operate the equipment.

There could be more basic things in the kitchen like oil and tea bags. There could be more detailed instructions for the equipment, like air conditioning and hot water, but the owner helped us figure out what we didn't know. Don't expect a view because Ohiradai village is in a valley, but it is surrounded by beautiful forests.

It wasn't too far from all of the attractions in the area. If anything, you can also access the train if you are confused by how the busses work. It was cheap and efficient. Recommended for people who are familiar with Japan's lifestyle. The apartment is pretty wide and there are two toilet rooms so you can almost never worry about having to wait for someone to finish with their business!

The location is in a quiet area, so making too much noise at night can be heard by your neighbors. They have thin walls and you might get unlucky and see a centipede! There is no reception or front desk, so if you're a tourist trying to go around Hakone, I would recommend going to a different Hotel where there are front desk staffs or have a Japanese friend in Hakone tour you around!

I like the comfort and the space of the house. It is a traditional Japanese house, perfect for those who want to try a traditional home. I don't understand the bad reviews regarding the location ( you just need to follow the directions given). It is only 1 minute walk from the bus stop, very convenient.

A true traditional Japanese house, perfect for visiting Hakone. The bus stop is right in front of the property, making it very convenient for day trips. The house is spacious and well-equipped with washing machines and a functional kitchen. Highly recommended for an authentic and comfortable stay!

the staff was okay incredibly kind and helpful. They were accommodating with meal times and provided us with extra sheets/ towels upon request. They were fluent in English which made everything easier for us and the food was remarkable! I would recommend this property to anyone.

Beds and pillows weren’t too comfy. Not a lot of extra space in our room other than the beds, but the hosts made us feel very welcome in the main living area.

The property location was really near our destination attraction and it's near with the station or even bus stop so it was make us easy to transport when we were in Hakone. And because before us there was no one booked the property, so we can check in even at 11.30 AM to put our luggage. The host was very helpful.

Cozy and comfortable. Relaxing. Easy access to bus or train. I was alone but house was spacious. Really enjoyed my peaceful stay.

Large, plenty of space for a large group. Quiet neighborhood. Excellent communication and directions from host.

A little far from main sights in Hakone, but a good value for a large group. Not the cleanest place, but functional.
