January 2025
Really nice motel. First time I ever stayed in one motel for more than a week and I have no reason to complain whatsoever. Spacious room, bathroom worked well, everything was clean and warm (January temperatures were very cold), fridge worked well, enough pillows, enough space for clothes etc. Microwave and water boiler was very welcome. Also the table in the room. Would be happy to come again anytime. Very good supermarkets in town also. And the beautiful scenery around of course.
I wasn't particularly fond of the coffee, but then I made my own.

The crisp and clean looking modern bedding and spacious room with adequate storage made an immediate impression. The window opened easily for a bit of fresh air overnight. The thermostat was controllable. There was a bathtub as opposed to only a shower, which is a nice luxury after a day of cross country skiing. Our stay was quiet. I was impressed with the added amenities (small fridge, hair dryer, even iron and ironing board, additional bedding). We enjoyed having coffee and hot water for tea available downstairs.
My husband might have preferred a larger TV. (I enjoyed the smaller screen!) It would have been great to have a non-caffeine tea option in the evening.

We have a pleasant experience in the hotel, the room was big and had what we need: a/c, coffee maker, fridge, microwave and hair dryer, the beds were very comfy, we slept like babies. The staff was kind although they did not know much about certain tours, but that is ok because they have several brochures that helped us to find the perfect options for us.
We stayed 4 nights, I thought maybe they will give us new towels in day 3, but that is just my preference, they clearly said that they do a light cleaning of the room every 2 days. If you want to prepare coffee in the room just do not forget to ask for filters, or you will do a mess, like we did.

Located on east end of Canmore's main street, this property is bit dated, but was clean, quiet, spacious, well maintained and well furnished. It was ideal as road trip accommodation. I stayed during the shoulder season between summer and skiing - I expect the feel of the building may change during ski season.
Bizarre position of toilet in one room (I stayed in two rooms on different occasions) - wouldn't want to be a larger person, would be tight squeeze. There is free coffee in reception lounge, but not offered until 8:00 am, which is too late :) (but small amount of coffee available in rooms) And, I don't mind a firmer mattress, but the mattresses are bracing :)

Good location and parking, clean, safe neighborhood, less expensive than some places The staff were accommodating - I arrived early and was given parking arrangements at that time, even though my room was not yet ready.
No indication in the booking process that my room would be on the second floor and that the only way to access it would be via stairs. I have arthritis, so going up and down stairs for two days was not ideal for me. I have a significant scent allergy. The dryer vents emitted scent into the parking area. Also, the reception area had quite a strong scent a couple of times. It seemed to be from a staff member wearing strongly scented product.

Staff were cheerful and accommodating, check-in was a breeze, location is excellent because it is near the downtown and Tourist Info Center where we are starting our bike ride of Legacy Trail, near local coffee shops as well as A&W, Tim Horton's, Wendy's, and McDonald's. It has a little dining area where you can have free coffee and tea and it has microwave and sink provided with dish and hand soap.Be sure to dine at The Table restaurant of Coast Hotel just behind the property because their food is amazing.
Our room smells stuffy and old, the property has no bike storage nor are you allowed to bring inside your room. Although Canmore is a safe place be sure to bring good lock to secure your bike.

The hotel was very close to Canmore centre so it was easy to walk into town. I also loved that there was a communal dining area near the lobby which included a microwave, kettle, coffee pot and washing up sink. I used the sink and kettle every day!
The bathroom was very dated and the toilet felt like it was going to tip over every time you sat on it.

Great location within Canmore and as an alternative to the exceedingly high prices and limited availability of Banff...
Property was decent but dated. Bed was the hardest thing I've tried to sleep on in a long time, and the parking situation is a bit sketchy....they have exceedingly narrow spaces, so if you have a truck or SUV it's hard to fit, and there aren't enough spaces for the amount of rooms they have as it also shares a lot with the mall next door (but they're up front about this on the site.

Our room was spotlessly clean, the beds were comfortable and the pillows were soft. We used the coffee machine and the table and chairs. The shower was hot and toiletries were provided. Staff were helpful. The hotel was only a 10 minute walk from the town centre.
Thicker duvets would have made the beds warmer and more cosy. Plastic knives and spoons were available but forks would have been useful for eating our evening meal.

Mountain View was on the more affordable end for my friend and me and it was a great option. Bearing in mind that because it is more affordable, it does look more "basic" than if you were staying at a high-end hotel, but nothing to complain about at all. The front desk service was wonderful, the rooms were clean and spacious, and the stay was comfortable. It was also only a short driving distance to Banff and the Banff National Park as well. It was also close to everything needed in Canmore - grocery store, main street, restaurants, great hiking trails, etc. Gas station right across from the inn, which was helpful.
Only wish there was enough parking space for all the hotel guests. They do tell you in advance that there may not be enough parking space and that we might need to park on the side streets. We came back late one night at around 11pm and we circulated around the neighbourhood for awhile looking for a parking space as even the side-street parking was full. Also, it would be helpful if the parking spots were repainted because, in the parking lot, you could clearly see some cars had taken two spots because the parking lines were too faint to see.
