We had a small but lovely private balcony, a comfortable bed and access to filtered water and the ability to make tea and coffee downstairs. The bathroom towels were good. The host (Martin) was an excellent communicator and helped us by arranging a taxi and storing our luggage. The location is good - a 5 minute downhill walk to the centre - and perhaps 10 minutes coming up - with a few steps. Not a problem for us (and we are seniors) but it may be for those with mobility issues. We both got bad stomach upsets from street food during our stay so the room was a nice refuge.
Sometimes the hot water in the shower ran out reasonably quickly and we had to wait 20 minutes between showers. The king sized bed (with huge headboard) is too large for the bedroom and navigating around it needed coordination.

This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. We absolutely loved staying here, the owner Martin really goes above and beyond for his guests. Our room was cleaned daily and we were provided with fresh towels every day. There is free water available and lots of coffee and tea options which we really enjoyed. There is a microwave and fridge in the reception area. The bed is huge and very comfy making our stay even better. The room is nice and bright with a good balcony, bathroom, and is probably the cleanest hotel we have ever stayed in. We honestly couldn’t recommend staying here more!

This is one of the best places we stayed in our entire two months in Mexico. The owner Martin was wonderful, and so friendly. On arrival he let us check in early, showed us to the main square and was helpful throughout our entire stay. He even arranged a taxi for us at 3am to the airport! Our room was cleaned daily, and the wifi signal was excellent the entire stay. The room is quiet at night, and the balcony is a lovely place to relax with a book. Free tea and coffee in the reception. If you're thinking of staying here, book it.
The hotel is uphill/stairs from the main square. It didn't bother us, but worth being aware of.

Location was excellent. About an 8 minute uphill walk from Centro Histórico, but it was so nice to be a little offset from the main tourist area. Martín was very welcoming and helpful with things like learning about the city, and getting us a taxi to the Centro del Autobuses for the morning of our departure. The room was small, but the king sized bed was super comfortable. The hot water and water pressure in the shower was excellent. Downstairs, there was a communal area that included a refrigerator, drinking water, a microwave, and coffee/tea. Such a fantastic find!

My stay at this hotel was fantastic. I've been traveling around Mexico for around 4 months and this hotel was easily the best i stayed at. My room was exceptionally clean, bathroom was equally clean and had excellent hot water with high pressure, there was even a balcony with enough space to do computer work. I'm a cycle tourist and there was ample space in the courtyard to store my bike safely. Martin was extremely accommodating and helped my to carry my bike up the stairs to the courtyard which i really appreciated. There was complimentary coffee and a community fridge also. The location is excellent as well and near the city center and surrounded by tiendas and a taco stand across the street. I can't recommend this place enough. If you're reading this just stay here! You won't regret it.
I wish I could have stayed longer. I wish every hotel in Mexico was this excellent.

We loved our stay here. Martin was so welcoming and keeps the place spotless. The room was lovely with a big comfortable bed. Love that there is water and coffee available, and you can use the fridge and microwave. It’s in a great location super near centro but away from the noise. Highly highly recommend!
Nothing, it was all excellent!

The owner was very kind and helpful and went out of his way to help me with my needs. The place was lovely and had everything I needed and more. It also had a great view, a lovely courtyard, and was well located. A hidden gem for sure.
The city's roosters and dogs were a rather alarming wake up call in the morning but even in a magical town not everything is perfect.

Martin was an exceptional host. He went above and beyond to help with anything we needed including an early morning taxi.
The room itself was a little small. He has bigger rooms. I would upgrade to a bigger room when booking next time.

I liked that it wasn't too far from the city center. I liked the host who was on site and very helpful. This was my favorite city to visit.
I didn't like that there was no elevator.

Martin is a great host. He's both kind and helpful. Room is very clean. Beds are a little hard but comfortable.
The accommodations are very basic. Room is a bit cramped and location is just ok -- about .5 miles out of centro, all up hill on the way back. Cost seemed quite high for the caliber of the room/hotel. But I'm sure rates were elevated because of Cervantino.
