The location of the hotel is great - just a little way out of town (say 500m - which is welcome because the town centre gets very busy in summer)and with panoramic views across the bay. The hotel is styled in ‘Italian chic’ decor I.e. many lovely pieces of furniture and marble floors. We stayed in a suite with a terrace and jacuzzi pool. The suite was modern, private and kept exceptionally clean with daily linen change etc. The food was fantastic, great choice at breakfast and evening meals easily at the standard of anything you’ll find down in the town. The aspect that needs special mention though is the staff - I cannot speak highly enough of the warm, friendly and professional service where every need of the guests is catered for. The roof top pool and bar area is really nice and kept immaculately clean. I thoroughly recommend this hotel as a base location if you are travelling to the Sorrento area

Nothing - fantastic place with brilliant staff

Elegant, classy, and luxurious accommodations await you in this exquisitely decorated hotel. The view is to live for, and the dining is exceptional. They catered to my gluten-free food issues. Giuseppe, for their delicious breakfast and dinner, took amazing care of us. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We loved it so much that we ended up staying 2 more days. I highly recommend the glamorous experience at Hotel.Bristol.

The view was stunning, we could see the bay of Naples, Sorrento and Vesuvius from our balcony and our private hot tub. The breakfast was adequate. The staff were very friendly and helpful and any special requests were met promptly and with a smile. The packed lunches provided were huge, sufficient for at least 3 meals! There was good provisions for gluten free eaters, with choices. Shower was hot and had good pressure. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of blankets to use when we needed them.

The room was very cold and there was no way for us, as guests, to control the temperature. We often opened the balcony door to warm up the room. The evening meals were not to our tastes and we felt they were expensive for what they were. There were inadequate places to dry wet swimsuits and towels, considering there was a hot tub on the balcony. We struggled to find places to dry these. The final lift up to the 9th floor was iffy, the light occasionally went out and the lift would not move. This happened enough to make us unsure if it would work when we got in.

Fantastic hotel. What made it most special for me was the staff and I mean ALL the staff. Francisco greeted us as our car pulled up. He was gracious and most genuine. Grace helped us with our day and night trip to Capri. The view from our room was gorgeous. And the pool and grounds are stunning. Very relaxing and the picturesque Italian movie experience. I don’t generally return to the same place twice but this hotel will be a must again. The walk into Sorrento was about 20 minutes give or take 5 and yes there is a bit of an incline on the way back and a narrow sidewalk. It was not an issue at all for us however people with mobility issues may not enjoy this. Thank you Hotel Bristol, and see you again.

The view from the room over the entire gulf, and directly above Marina Grande was superb. Also, the view from the breakfast room on the highest floor offered more great photo opportunities. The staff was nice and always ready to assist. We got a free upgrade to a room with a balcony. They also accommodated us with a slightly later checkout at no cost. The breakfast was of a good standard for this type of a hotel. The location was around 10-15 mins walk to the centre. The cleanliness of the room was at an acceptable level.

Why location was a 10-15 mins walk to the centre, it was alongside a busy road with a relatively narrow pedestrian path, so appropriate care is necessary when walking. Another small downside in terms of the location is that there are neither restaurants nor grocery shops in the immediate vicinity of the hotel.

Nicely appointed Junior suite with plenty of space and light. The view of Vesuvius and Sorrento from our balcony, the restaurant (And yes, there is technically only one restaurant) outdoor pool and lounge was breathtaking. Breakfast was a buffet of a wide variety of healthy and sweet pastries, Coffees, And omelettes or fried eggs on order. Most of it was delicious. The dinner cuisine was not the best I’ve ever had and the buffet salad comes up really short for an Italian salad. However, their eggplant parmesan was the best I’ve ever had. The hotel is located just up a hill on the edge of town, and the bus stop is just out the door, so it’s away from the maddening crowd, but with convenient transportation. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, Providing us all sorts of useful information. The only recommendation of the staff that I would not agree with would be to take the boat they arrange to Positano and Amalfi for €60. It was uncomfortable and loud. Check into the ferry and bus options first.

See above.

The location was great and only a 10 minute walk to the shops, bars and restaurants. Our room was very spacious and clean. We had a wonderful view of Vesuvius and the sea from our balcony. The swimming pool was lovely and warm with sun loungers to relax during the day. The food was absolutely brilliant during our stay. Giuseppe and the bar/kitchen staff were so friendly and accommodating and really made us feel welcome.

We had booked a room with a hot tub on our balcony for our honeymoon and when we arrived it wasn’t very clean and it didn’t feel particularly private with a neighbouring restaurant terrace having a view of our hot tub and balcony, which was off putting. We had a late flight home on check out day and politely asked if we could check out late or have access to another room to freshen up before leaving for the airport. We had been told that we could use a courtesy room and this would be no problem at all. On the last day, we asked what the earliest time would be to access the room and the response we received made us feel as if we were being an inconvenience. This then impacted the way we felt when we left.

The view from our room's balcony was stunning (it has a view of the whole Sorrento and Vezuv). We've got a bigger category room than we paid for, so our room was huge and had a big balcony (with a sofa, a table with two chairs and two sun beds). The hotel has a great and elegant atmosphere. The restaurant's view is also amazing, so every breakfast was a wonderful experience! The staff is charming and helpful! There are so many floors, but there are also a lot of elevators. In the summertime, they have a pool on the top of the hotel. The mini bar was full of reasonably priced soft drinks, beers, and proseccos.

Parking and stopping in front of the hotel are very difficult, and the charge is 20 EUR / day. The city center is a bit far from the hotel (but the view is worth the distance). Breakfast is a bit boring and could be more varied (they are not serving prosecco or wine in the morning - hey! It's Italy ;) Bed was so uncomfortable and soft.

The lovely breakfast on the balcony put together by the hotel.for my husband's 60th birthday.was a real treat. Our room and all seem to have a unique quirky style. The best views in Sorrento. The service and extra mile the staff went too Smiley staff, attentive (not on their phones which is the norm these days!) The authentic Italian style of the hotel..which was modernised whilst still keeping its charm and wonderful features. The massage was first class and the wellness room. We will be back .....

That the hotel did not offer a free shuttle esp with luggage it's a difficult walk and 20+E for a 10 mins car journey is ludicrous! The pool bar was closed but that's possibly because it's the end of the season.
