This is one of the best places I have stayed. The staff was helpful, the food was simple but delicious, and the connected pub is a good place to have dinner and drink. The location is perfect for exploring the Highlands and is 1.5 to Edinburgh and only a few hours to the Two Sisters and excellent hiking and outdoor adventures. I travel 42 weeks a year for work, staying at some of the best (and worst) hotels in the world. Lochaide Guest House is 100% on the best side, a quiet, comfortable, clean, well-located place to stay that I would highly recommend.

The breakfast was fresh cooked to order and plentiful. Cereal, fresh fruit and fruit juice were available on a self help basis. The location is stunning, at the head of Loch Long and with amenities close by. The staff were very friendly and went well above what was expected to make our stay memorable. 7 of us were booked in to celebrate my partners 60th birthday and the management went way beyond anything I have previously seen as a surprise gift in the room. Our heartfelt thanks to all of the staff for making our stay so pleasurable and memorable.

There was nothing not to like, even my lass, who is incredibly fussy and picky, can only sing praise for Lochside Guest House. The only thing I could suggest for improvement would be the blinds in the room we stayed in. They were perfectly adequate as it was dark at night but may be more of an issue during the summer months and lighter nights

This guesthouse was exactly what we were looking for. My partner and I wanted a weekend of walking in the Arrochar Alps. Ideal location, plenty of walks and hikes on the doorstep. We were out all day and then enjoyed the pub and chippy next door with very friendly staff. We got a room overlooking the lake and the Cobbler, was beautiful to wake up to that and the sound of the curlews. The Guesthouse smells INCREDIBLE. Very clean and well looked after. Beds were quite soft for my liking but managed to sleep really well every night. We had cooked breakfasts and continental, both great, overlooking the loch. There were works happening on the outdoor space while we were there but it was still lovely. We look forward to returning one summer when it's finished.

The room was welcoming and comfortable. Staff helpful from the pub next door for check in. The breakfast was yummy. The pub next door has great food, book a table. Beautiful view from the accommodation of the water front and especially when dining for breakfast in the conservatory. The room was warm and had TV and good lighting.

The shower water was cold two mornings in a row. Not enough toilet paper and housekeeping didn't top up tea, coffee, milk for the second day. On check in we had to go next door to the pub to check in. Staff were great however in the process.

Our whole experience of our stay at Lochside was excellent: the newly decorated room and view; 'The Bothy' bar and restaurant with a stunning view; the location (close to Loch Lomond (east) and Inveraray (west)

The breakfast provided was excellent, but quite pricey. A Continental breakfast option would have been better for us. Whilst the shoreline walk south was very good, going north around the head of the loch suffers dreadfully from detritus (presumably blown upstream from the industrial south): it needs a huge clean-up.

We had a room with nice view of the lake. The room itself was better than we expected originally based on the pictures, it had that nice "new" feeling.

We didn't like the breakfast at all, neither the options or the way it was actually prepared. But that may be the problem of the whole region, as finding decent restaurants in the neighborhood was tricky. Also the walls of the hotels are not the thickest - we could hear people snoring next door, or creaking noises of the floor from above.

The location of the guest house is absolutely breathtaking, at the footsteps of a loch amidst the thick green landscapes. The guest house is designed excellently, giving it a tropical modern touch! It is well equipped with the lakeside view from the guest house. Absolutely loved my time there with my family, highly recommended!!

There was no check in with us regarding the breakfast. However it is served right next door and you can personally go and let them know your preferences.

Loved everything about the guest house including the pub next door, the food from both was great, the staff at the guest house were excellent, so friendly and a great sense of humour made the stay more welcoming and enjoyable. Ladies u deserve a payrise 😁 my partner and I would definitely return x

We can honestly say there is nothing that we didn't like, but may I suggest putting a wee sign up about the shower in rm6 as I thought it was broken but u just have to use it a certain way 🙈 no big deal though.

Location with beautiful view of the loch. Nice meal in the pub, good value. Easy car parking just outside. On the main road but quiet at night.

It was hard work getting heavy suitcases up to the room with multiple fire doors but the view was definitely worth it. Soundproofing not good and could hear people talking normally in the next room (not details of conversation) and they knocked on the wall when we turned the TV on it the morning so presumably they could hear it.

The Lochside is located (as the name says) directly at the Loch. The room was small but totally ok for the two of us. It had everything we needed, a hairdryer, nice conditioner, shampoo and hand soap, coffee, a kettle, mugs and even hot chocolate and some cookies. The staff was really friendly, checking in and out was very easy and fast. The pub is located near the Guest House and you can get breakfast in the morning. We slept like babies, the beds were so comfortable!

We had a roadside room, I guess the view is better on the other side of the Guesthouse... but for the superduper price we paid we were more than happy with the road 😀
