I have stayed in the Gisborne motel on 3 occasions over the past 3 years. Its clean and comfortable. The host Andrew is really lovely and always welcoming - he is never rude or grumpy. Each year I arrive after a 10 hour+ drive followed by several hours of setting up for an expo in Woodend. Sometimes I arrive quite late to check in but Andrew is always so friendly. One year I was quite late and he called to check that I was ok and when I arrived around 10 pm it was absolutely freezing. Not only had he waited up for me without any fuss or bother - he had also turned on the heating in my room so i could walk straight into a warm room. I'd be disappointed if I had to stay elsewhere.

There's nothing I didn't / don't like and thats why I keep coming back. I can't beat the Gisborne hotel for value. Its not flashy but its quiet, warm and the rooms have microwaves, a fridge, kettle, toaster, loads of power points, good water pressure. I'd quite like a kitchen sink because i like doing my own dishes but the house keeping staff take care of all the dishes like magic so I can't complain.

Basic but a very clean, comfortable room and peaceful and convenient location. Fluffy white towels, good water pressure in shower, comfortable bed, air con worked well on a 33 degree day! Perfect place to stop over and wash off the days travel and a 5 min drive to town for dinner. Andrew the manager was helpful and easy going. A great place to stop over for a night if road tripping or for a few nights to explore the lovely area around Gisborne.

Nothing, all was good!

The room was very clean and fresh smelling and the bed was very comfortable. There was lots of coffee and tea available which is something important to me. Thankfully the enormous potholes in the road leading to the motel have been repaired by the local council.

I find the cost a little high. I have been coming for quite a number of years and lack of competition has allowed the owners to charge a little more over the past 18 months.

Quaint motel with microwave, kettle, little biscuits and tea and coffee with plenty of little UHF milk in the fridge. Air-conditioning was good and along with the electric blanket, this complemented room comfort. Gisborne has a generous amount a eating places, both sit-in and take-away; all with in two kilometres driving distance from the motel.

Esy check-in and check-out. Plenty of eating places, including supermarkets to buy food and return to the motel.

The manager was a lovely man, went out of his way to make us welcome. He even showed us where the best place was to eat. (Got us to follow him in our car and walked us to the door). Room was also lovely and comfortable. Manager even asked us in the morning how our meal was the evening before when he handed back the Key. Will go back there again.

The bed was very comfortable. We weren't there much as we went out each day for work. We loved that on the first night the heater was left on for us so the room was warm. For the price we were not expecting any 'frills' and this is a no frills motel. But it was clean, the price was great and the bed was comfortable so we were happy. We appreciated being able to heat our meals in the microwave. We were also provided with an extra bed for a minimal additional cost which was great. We did everything on line as we were keeping long hours. In spite of this Andrew still found the time to check in with us early in the morning on our first day to make sure everything was ok. A nice touch.

There wasn't anything we didn't like. For a basic, clean room with a comfortable bed, heating, microwave, TV, electric blankets and Wifi at a really reasonable price we felt like we made a good choice. This is hotel would suit tradies or people travelling for work who are not spending a lot of time in the room but who want a good nights sleep not too far from the center of town (or in our case, not too far from the next town of Woodend, where our work was based).

Really great attention to detail. Loved that the bed was re-made early each day. Plenty of clean towels too. Friendly team as always. Plenty of power points fro charging phone etc.

The shower in room 4 is faulty. It's very hard to get the mix - either scalding hot or cold.There appears to be a fault with the flow of water from perhaps both taps but certainly the hot seems to me either full on or off.

We were arriving late after a flight. Andrew texted through instructions on how to access our rooms and offered to put the heater on. It was very much appreciated. It was quick and easy to get to off the freeway. It took us about 30 mins drive from the airport and as we live North in the state it gave us a good head start for home in the morning.

The rooms were clean and well kept. However, I will not pass any comment on the beds as it is hard to find a bed that suits both my husband and me as we both need something different for our backs.

The property was clean and all the facilities were working well. The heaters and extra blankets kept up really warm on the cold nights. All the basic amenities were provided and they were super clean. Convenient location.
