This was a great find! The property is absolutely beautiful and all of the bungalows are amazing. The ground floor units have A/C, but the upper units have amazing airflow and patios, and you can request an extra fan. Very unique and superb attention to detail. The amenities with the beach bar and restaurant on site were 10 out of 10. Very short walk to the main street and a lovely beach. The pool was generally deserted and absolutely gorgeous. A nice respite from the heat on the beach. Many thanks to Pedro and all of the staff. We celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary in Zipolite and we were treated to a nice surprise of complementary wine and impeccable service. There is some noise at night from neighboring clubs, but the fans and the earplugs tend to drown it out! This is a lively fun place to be in Mexico, even if you are not a nudist. Rent a scooter from the reception and drive up to Mazunte and San Augustinillo. Lots of cute areas neighboring Zipolite that are worth checking out.

There are only 12 rooms spread across six huts. We were facing the ocean on the ground floor and therefore we had an air-conditioned unit which for us was a necessity. The rooms are styled as “spa“ rugged comfort. Nothing is missing and everything is to perfection. There are two beach restaurants, seconds away and of course the spectacular Zipoleti beach. Outside of the “beach club” you are minutes away from the town, where there are a number of eateries and restaurants. Also, right along the beach.

Everyone on the staff was friendly and attentive both in person and by text. The cabins was roomy and quaint - just what you want from a Mexican beach town. The ceiling fan provided a cool enough breeze to sleep by, so there was no need for air conditioning. The location is perfect - right on a nice part of the beach with an excellent cafe and cocktail bar next door Organic soap and mosquito repellant. Overall, it's a very good value for the money if you are looking for an affordable alternative to places like El Alchemista.

There are some night clubs right next door that play loud music until 3 am. But I wore earplugs and had no problem sleeping. Also there are a lot of mosquitos that are hard to avoid.

Descalzo is a great hotel right on the beach. The room is good-sized and comfortable. The room is beach modern with the right balance of amenities and simplicity. This was my second time staying at Descalzo and it met our expectations. We had a second floor room both times - I like the balcony. The first floor rooms have a larger porch area. I like that the hotel is just set back a little from the beach- by just a few feet. There is a nice restaurant in front on the beach that has good breakfast and lunch. In the evening there is a bar there that has good drinks. The pool is good, nice sized and just off the main area.

There is a restaurant/ bar that is near the hotel that plays loud music that can be heard- until about 12 or 1 most nights.

I spent a week at Hotel Descalzo and I had the best experience. The hotel is beautiful, walking distance to anywhere and right on the beach. The staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful. Breakfast at Gula Gula was delicious and their little beach club is great as well, food, cocktails... You don't have to go anywhere else if you don't want to! It was a dream and I will be back same time next year!

Great staff, great communication with front desk, excellent view of the beach, parking lot very primitive but secure, flight was delay so I arrive later than planned but still great experience after all.

I wasn’t able to get a safe box in my room, been an international traveler is always worrisome not to have an extra security box to place important documents and extra cash in hand. Will definitely like to have it next time.

Amazing location and situation. It has a lovely layout with easy access to the beach and a beautiful pool in a jungly setting alongside the various buildings. The interior of our room was super lovely, really nice design. The baths are huge and amazing. The ribs at the beach restaurant were excellent!

There were fans in the rooms but given the heat and humidity it would be great to have an aircon option. However the shutters don’t entirely close so appreciate it wouldn’t be very economical.

Beautiful large bungalows hidden in a lush garden, steps from the beach. The bungalows are nice & expansive. I was worried about the lack of AC, but it really wasn’t an issue for sleeping - there is a lot of natural ventilation through the wooden slats on the windows/doors & a powerful fan. Great porch area with a hammock for lounging. Recommend their beach bar & the hotel massages!

low light in the bungalow sometimes made it difficult to see loud music at night coming from neighboring beach bars, as you are basically right on the beach

It was very close to the beach, facilities are super nice and clean, and hotel staff very friendly and helpful.

In theory it should be a place to relax, but unfortunately our last nights were almost impossible to get some sleep since there are few beach clubs that are very close to the hotel and one night especially they had music and base so high until 5am and was very bad experience. Unfortunately hotel can’t fight it much but they stepped in and changed our room to be a bit further from the beach club.

The staff was amazing, super responsive, friendly and helpful. Beautiful large room set in very well maintained property. Definitely excellent value for money.

It is right next to the beach, which is great on the one hand because you just cross a small (no cars) path and you‘re there, but it also means that you‘re pretty close to some restaurants/bars which can be a bit noisy.
