Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed into this rainforest paradise retreat. The Lodge itself is nestled amongst the Daintree rainforest in what we would describe as breathtakingly beautiful. The newly refurbished restaurant, bar and surrounding deck with spa is at the heart of it all. A stroll along the boardwalk leads you to your private villa, the room is very well presented with the bathroom being the showstopper. A beautiful tiled bathroom with the shower giving you an amazing view of the rainforest.

Perfect location in amongst the beautiful canopy of trees. We saw a juvenile cassowary, which resides around this location. Fabulous breakfast, which was included. Dinner was so lovely. The rooms are great. Comfy beds. No TV but you can borrow DVDs if you want to watch a movie. Just a beautiful pretty place to stay. So close to Cape Tribulation and all the boardwalks. Close to the rivers for Croc tours.

Beautiful location in the heart of the Daintree. Super easy parking, owner Ross was fantastic and knowledgeable, restaurant staff all excellent - breakfast great every day and catered for vegetarians and carnivores. Dinner lovely modern menu too. Wildlife watching a highlight. You can never guarantee seeing anything but during our 5 nights we saw Wild Boar with piglets, the Cassowary twice - in the car park for about 30 mins and also walking past the glass shower on a morning. Also saw a Praying Mantis on the board walk and two beautiful Pythons late at night crossing the car park and boards. Room was perfect, super comfortable beds and clean. A bit of 4G internet signal in the room and wifi in lobby/restaurant only which was totally manageable - strong 4G across at the ice cream place across the road if needed. Overall the perfect place to explore daintree from and a magical location under the canopy of the fan palms and rainforest trees.

The lodges were well spaced apart amongst the tranquil forest canopy offering privacy & the beautiful feeling of being immersed in the Daintree. The elevated timber pathways provided a lovely path to the main reception and restaurant which offered a very high quality dining experience and delicious meals. We were so happy with our 2 night stay at the Daintree Wilderness Lodge with all staff being incredibly welcoming and genuinely lovely people. A huge thank you to Jason for his warm welcome, local knowledge and ensuring we met with their resident cassowaries, which we were so pleased to meet. A very magical place and it was obvious that all guests and staff alike felt enormous gratitude to share a piece of this rare and idyllic sanctuary.

Ross the manager was great, very welcoming and accommodating during our stay and knowledgeable with where to go in the area and helping to book tours. The rest of the staff were wonderful too and the breakfast each morning was delicious. The cabins are spacious, private and amenities within are well thought out.

This eco lodge is a real gem. It is run on sustainable principles, with everything elevated above Rainforest ground. Each visitor is assigned their own detached hut at the end of a walkway, and the huts have lots of windows and a long skylight to look out at the rain forest where you see cassowary droppings. The beds are highly comfortable and bathroom is amazing with natural bath fittings and the shower having a full height window. Staff are lovely with lots of information provided about the Rainforest and surrounding area to explore. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast and both were superb. Loved our stay.

Did not see Cassowary on are two walks, but maybe next time.

The location in the rainforest is wonderful. This is a small hotel, with the cabins placed to ensure your privacy. Our cabin was very comfortable. The shower room has a great window onto the rainforest. Our aircon unit was very noisy so we didn't use that. The ceiling fan was whisper quiet and even at the end of October that was all we needed. Being under the trees helps keep the cabins cool. The food was excellent. That was a real treat. We had no rain so were able to dine on the deck surrounded by the forest at night. THe water is from a bore hole on site and is lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful and from all over the world. We were unusual in that we stayed for 8 days. Most people stay for less time. We didn't want to keep moving around with heavy cases too much. We found plenty to do but we are very interested in the natural world rather than more touristy things. The Madja boardwalk is a 10 minute drive away which we did most mornings before breakfast while it was quiet. There is a lovely nature walk on the premises down to their swimming hole. There was plenty of evidence of Cassowaries on the ground! We had a very close enounter with one on the Madja board walk. We were there to enjoy the rainforest itself. We did go on a croc cruise and a sunset bird watching trip from Daintree Village. We also did a zip wire tour through the canopy at Cape Tribulation where we saw a Bennets Tree Kangaroo! It doesn't get much better than that. The Daintree forest is stunning. It's dizzying in it's sheer diversity. The sound of the forest. The smell of the forest.. all very beautiful. There was a bumpy satinash tree outside cabin with it's fruit on the trunk... caulifery - looks very weird to european eyes! The accomodation isn't brand new. The rainforest takes it toll. We were not bothered by that I know some guests were.

We missed not being able to do our laundry. Coffee rations at breakfast were variable. Lovely coffee don't get me wrong.

Everything is modern, clean, thought of. The staff was very friendly. The location and the nature walk were very nice.

The endless "entertainment music" which especially the first day was much too loud and could be heard in the chalet. Also the staff was a skeleton one, we never saw more than 2 staff at the same time, one was the cook and the waitress also was doing the bar and the dishes so if you for instance wanted a glass of wine there was a waiting time. Last one: there is nowhere to sit in the room besides on the bed, on the terrace there is a bench.

The wilderness lodge is incredible. I would highly recommend staying here. It is luxurious and cosy at the same time. The location is perfect, the boardwalks lit by small lights add to the incredible beauty of this place. The staff are just as incredible as the location. Thank you especially to Lee who made our stay very comfortable. The food was beautiful, some of the best barramundi have ever had. To sit in the rainforest and take it all in was just incredible. The shower was my favourite thing 😂

Cosy settled in the rainforest with 20 meters to next cabin. Only 7 cabins, total, we had 2x since traveled with our teenage kids. This made us feel special to the wonderful staff we met, and what a kitchen. Wooho - 10 points on the dinner!

Nothing - perhaps initially, the fact that the spa pool was not heated, but since it was 30 degrees, i expect this was the intention, to cool off the heat in the afternoon which was lovely.
