Our stay at the horse and hound was outstanding, mainly due to the unbelievable hospitality from the staff, particularly Mark in the restaurant. They made us feel like old friends that had come to visit. The restaurant was really stunning. Beautifully styled and delicious food. They managed to squeeze five of us in at the last minute on a Saturday night, which was very much appreciated. Our room (room 5) was beautiful and a really good size. Beds were comfy and the shower was amazing with great water pressure. For us, the location was perfect. We travelled from Dublin airport (around 40 minutes drive) and met up with friends in the area.
Because of the amazing Irish welcome we received, we would struggle to fault the property.

We were welcomed by a very friendly staff member working in the pub who showed us the room and gave us plenty of tips to get around. The rooms are pretty spacious with a very large and very comfortable bed and they leave the softest towels in the bathroom. There is convenient parking on the property. The hotel is very conveniently located to discover Wicklow and there is a really nice bakery just next to the property, and some nice food options in the pub/restaurant itself or in walking distance from the property. Highly recommended!
A mini fridge in the room would have been handy

I stayed in the “small double room”. It was very cute and cosy. There is a perfect area with a stool for doing hair and makeup, and coffee and water were provided. The bed was comfortable, and the sheets were very nice. The location of the room to the pub was great, no noise could be heard from the restaurant or the bar. There was traditional music the night I was there, but as it was my first night in Ireland, I fell asleep too early, and missed it. 😜 The bathroom is small, but very well fitted. It was just perfect for a solo traveller, or even 2 people who don’t mind sleeping in the same bed, and can get along in a tight space.
The entrance to the car park is quite narrow, but once in the back there is plenty of parking. This cant be changed, just info for people thinking of staying there.

The room was perfect for our needs and was also value for money considering the location. Though we didn't get much use out of it, the Sky box was a very nice touch! We had the most amazing meal for my nephew's birthday in the restaurant. As there was no chicken from the early bird menu on the night, the manager was so good as to replace it with the duck for us which was a very welcome move! The meal was divine and we will be talking about it for weeks to come. I think the most notable thing about the Horse & Hound is the staff. From the young man that we met when we checked in, to the waiting staff in the restaurant (particularly the man who I assume was the manager), to the bar team - all of you should be so proud of yourselves for such a fabulous service you provide. A really wonderful hospitality experience and I would gladly return. 10/10!
I think the only thing I would note here, which is extremely minor, is the products (shampoo/shower gel) in the bathroom. I would suggest going for a better brand, maybe adding in the little extras such as shower cap, earbuds etc. and then present them nicely in the bathroom. But again, minor and I would not deduct points for this - just a suggestion.

Very nice room, very quiet, lovely little town, and incredible staff.
Reception was a tiny bit confusing, we got the key from the restaurant on the back side of the building, I wasn't clear on that before arrival. But, it was super quick and hassle-free once I understood where to go. Also, if you want to eat in the bar, be sure there's not a sporting event blocking all the tables, because it was tricky to get a seat in the main restaurant at the last minute.

We found a 1500 year old castle to explore just a short walk away. Also a lovely bakery next door for our breakfast. we ate dinner at the restaurant and it was very yummy. The room was beautifully decorated and cozy.
At night the room was hot ( we were there in mid June ) we could open a window but then you hear talking from the restaurant patio below. The bed was also not comfortable to sleep in and only had 2 pillows. I like that many hotels provide more in case you like more.

The inn and pub, and restaurant were all we hoped for. Great value. We were glad to have requested the larger room with an ample-sized bathroom. The review says small room, but we actually had two next to each other, and we had the better digs than our son for sure, lol. The room was lovely and just as you expect from the pictures. Food was great in both the pub and restaurant ~ creative and elevated menus, great staff, and both had a festive and lively atmosphere which we enjoyed. (We actually were there Christmas Week 2022). Rooms had some quirks, but to be expected in old buildings. That said, our rooms and the inn felt fresh, clean, bright, and modern. Delgany is charming, and we really enjoyed eating at The Firehouse and The Pigeon House. There is a little groumet food store out the back of The Firehouse dining room that is divine. Lovely to walk the village. The Hungry Monk in Grestones was fantastic too. Highly recommend Horse and Hound as a comfy, lovely, home base for a relaxed holiday.
A small thing, but as we love coffee, it mattered. Our coffee maker was broken, so we made coffee in our son's room. The housekeeper (lovely and quick to respond) showed us the "trick" on the second day, but honestly, the room needed a new coffee maker. We still could not get it to work.

Lovely big room. Very comfortable bed. Complimentary bottles of water. Bar food in the evening was very good. Only 1 hour from Dublin so perfect for catching the ferry.
No hairdryer in the room but one was very quickly delivered to me. Also the tea bags had not been replenished. Again very quickly resolved. We had the room with bathroom in the corridor (which we knew beforehand). As we were only staying one night it was ok but I would try for en suite in future.

Absolutely lovely pub with rooms upstairs, very beautifully decorated, situated in a quiet village. There was not a breakfast option (at least not during my stay) but around the corner there was a very nice bakery/cafeteria (it was busy morning so I had to wait quite long form my coffee and sandwich). The pub has a food restaurant (separate restaurant) and one can also eat in the pub area. My room was small but it was very nice and had everything one would need for one night's stay. I did the heritage round, which I highly recommend, the village have a nice history and beautiful scenery which you can experience by taking the heritage walk. Maps are by the gate to the old church yard, almost opposite the pub.
My bed could have been slightly more comfortable.

Location excellent, Delgany is a super central location to discover Wicklow. Accommodation really comfortable. Room 2 lovely and quiet over looking the gardens in the back. Pub cosy and restaurant lovely atmosphere serving tasty food. Plenty of choice.
No option for breakfast on site. However fab brunch place 5 mins walk away called the Pigeon House.
