Great room, friendly staff, felt very comfortable and high quality

The restaurant for breakfast was chaotic, staff there were not super friendly, and the process of ordering at the counter was chaotic. The inclusive breakfast option didn't cover the full cost of breakfast. Felt very different from the rest of the hotel.

The location was really convenient and central. The hotel is in Union Square but just on the edge of what would be considered a safe place to stay -- any further west and you probably wouldn't feel as comfortable. Room was great value for what we got and was in great condition with new and stylish furniture, modern and clean bathroom, and had a beautiful view.

The cafe within the hotel was really expensive. We received a $10 voucher and that got us one fruit cup. The hot water dispenser in the lobby didn't work. We had a relative staying in the next room and he said he could hear us (and our toddler) through the wall.

It's a bit on the pricey side but the location is just perfect. We had a room with an amazing View of the Skyscrapers at night. The Room was Big and very modern. Very clean.

almost 400$ a night for two Queensize but to be fair, it was in the middle of San Francisco on a nice location. No free parking, Valet parking is 70$/night.

The hotel has a perfect location as we read in previous reviews. Our main reason for the trip was to attend Pats vs 49ers game. The stadium is in Santa Clara, approximately one hour or from $80 to $100 Uber ride. Close in Uber to main attractions such as Golden Gate, Alcatraz and Pressidio. The Hop on hop off can take one block from hotel. The location is perfect with great restaurants close the hotel. There will also many stores such as Ross, Macys and Apple. The rooms are very comfortable and very big. All front desk representatives provide an excellent customer service. Our returning flight was at 10pm and the hotel offers various rate for late checkout very reasonable. Highly recommend. We definitely consider stay again if return to SF.

It was a great experience staying at The Clift! Room service was amazing and fast! Staff very friendly and helpful! The ambiance of the hotel was both luxurious and inviting, making it a perfect retreat after a long day of exploring the city. Each morning, I looked forward to the delightful breakfast options that catered to every taste. Additionally, the hotel's location allowed easy access to nearby attractions, enhancing the overall convenience of my stay. I can't wait to return and relive the wonderful memories I created during my time there.

It was perfect only if the Cafe opened after 11 am.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at The Clift Royal Sonesta in San Francisco, and it was an unforgettable experience! Upon arrival, we were thrilled to receive an upgrade to a stunning suite, which truly elevated our stay. The hotel itself is incredibly chic, with stylish decor and a modern vibe that made us feel right at home. The staff were lovely and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, adding to the overall wonderful experience. One of the highlights of our stay was the beautiful bar, where we enjoyed some amazing cocktails in a vibrant atmosphere. We highly recommend The Clift Royal Sonesta for anyone looking for a stylish and luxurious getaway in San Francisco. We can’t wait to return!

The only downside to our stay was that the walls were quite thin, so we could hear our neighbors pretty clearly.

The hotel itself is great, clean with comfortable beds. Staff are nice.

San Francisco itself has a problem with homeless people and the area where the hotel is has become a hub for them. People out of their mind walking around those streets, talking to themselves, shouting to nobody…you see them sleeping in the street…the streets smell like pee everywhere around there…it is a shame and sad to see. It is not a criticism to this hotel but to the area…a lot of businesses are also gone so you see a lot of them shutdown… I would not recommend to anyone to stay in the area.

Overall a great place to stay. Very central, great staff and nice rooms. I really enjoyed the helpfulness of the employees and their kind way to ask if I needed anything. The room was nice and large with plenty of daylight. Everything was clean.

Despite two minor complaints, I would visit the hotel again. First, the cleaning staff missed out one day to take care of my bed and towels. Second, the ac was noisy and the air inside fairly sticky. Opening the window was challenging but helped, accepting the smell from outside. A major issue for me was a necessary invoice change for my employer. Getting a change on my invoice after leaving the hotel was a nightmare. Many messages and e-mail were required without response.

We loved the Size of the room, the modern bathroom, the view, the comfortable double beds. Receptionist was very helpful and efficient when we asked for a different room. Redwood Room is lovely, cocktails are great, waiters are awesome. Highly recommend.

Breakfast credit: each day we heard a different story which stressed us out. Once they excluded tax other times we could order more. Breakfast included generally means we can just choose some food and leave satisfied. Here we couldn’t choose 3 hot meals without paying extra, not to mention hot drinks etc. After breakfast we straight had to head out for a cafe.

When we were underwhelmed by our first room we were offered a 'holiday special' upgrade from our executive King to a one bedroom suite for $50. It was TOTALLY worth it! The view from our original room was just meh. The suite was on the 13th floor and the view was fabulous!

I had breakfast alone at Fredrick's (their restaurant) our first morning at the hotel and I was horrified to pay $44 (inc. tax + tip) for one of the worst breakfasts I've ever eaten!! Terrible scrambled eggs, flavorless potatoes, fatty/undercooked bacon and a latte. The staff was lovely, but I wouldn't spend a dime in this restaurant (at least for breakfast) if you can avoid it.
