My second time staying at Portnellan at the Pinemarten cabin and it was so fantastic we can’t wait for our next visit already. The views are simply breathtaking. Photos don’t do it justice. The cabin is modern but cosy and very clean. One of the best cabins I’ve ever stayed in. The hosts are fantastic, we have met Cameron each stay and he is very helpful, really goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and helped us out when we had an issue with our taxi, can’t thank him enough! Will be back again soon, highly recommend this place.

Lovely location, clean, quiet and very comfortable. A very warm welcome and lots of help from Cameron - a huge thankyou again for unloading the grocery delivery!

Whilst it was as advertised, I feel for the amount charged the facilities could do with being updated/ upgraded eg rusty fridge, dated washing machine, not much crockery/ small pan sizes for 4 people.

Location, view, warmth, wildlife and quietness

Hum from electrical cupboard in main bedroom disturbed sleep making bedroom useless for a good night’s sleep. Had to decamp to the sofa in living room. Lots of promotional bumf obscured essential information about how to get hot water and Wi-Fi. Was no personal contact with host whatsoever. Just prompt and helpful responses to questions about Wi-Fi and how to get hot water. A Covid hangover seemed to be there to suit the hosts. We complied with the requirement to put all our bed linen and towels in a bag before vacating the property.

It was a relaxing holiday and the property was well equipped and clean. It was also nice to not be overlooking other lodges.

Had a few hiccups with the television and because we did not get the email from Cameron about working some of the equipment we figured it out ourselves. The weather was probably the cause of the tv.

Very friendly and helpful owners. Left tea, coffee and milk for us on arrival, which was appreciated. The place had plenty of room for our party of 7. It was clean with a fully equipped kitchen and 3 lovely bathrooms. We stayed in a 4-bed cottage, Stob Bennein. Beautiful scenery on our doorstep and overlooking the loch. Would definitely stay again.

Not much. A few niggles in terms of loose bars on a couple of the chairs and the mattress was too soft for me personally, but that didn't detract from the property/stay at all.

Clean, comfortable, well equipped lodge. Warm and well laid out to provide everything we needed for a week's stay. I also liked the fact that dog friendly cabins were separate from those where pets weren't allowed. Fantastic location for walking locally.

I'd have chosen not to have a down filled duvet. Owners did state that we could have had one with man made fibres but bed had been made up and it wasn't a major issue. Not many places to eat out (or buy supplies) locally but lodge was well equipped for self catering and we went prepared.

Amazing location at the base of Ben More, to the side of Lochs Dochart and Lubhair, nestled into a beautiful woodland. And excellent spot as a base for some hiking; I did parts of the West Highland Way over a couple of days. Excellent communication throughout from Cameron and Lucy made the stay completely stress-free. The lodge itself was beautifully decorated, in immaculate condition, spotlessly clean, and incredibly comfortable.

The view was exceptional and the cabin was private and comfortable.

Having to drive our garbage and recycling down to the bottom of the hill. Also, the WiFi and cellular were a bit spotty.

beautiful. clean. tidy. breathtaking views. modern. felt like home. cosy interiors. fully functional kitchen. amazing / large balcony.

most people don’t care about this, but I hate looking at my phone when on holidays. all the instructions were online as opposed to a traditional booklet or printed instructions. no human interaction either! we were stuck in the rain to get instructions for the game room code… (didn’t use it after all as wasn’t available in time) so if anyone interested, make sure you look through every single instruction as likely the staff support will be minimal as the model is “self catering” (again, this is the way the whole holiday / hotel business is heading to as an industry, just that I personally don’t like it)

Very serviceable kitchen and comfortable living area. Central location for touring the West Highlands. Lucy and Cameron were delightful hosts and very helpful and knowledgeable about the area.

The view wasn’t particularly great from our unit compared to the others on the property but still quite nice and pleasant.
