The staff at reception were lovely. Very welcoming and friendly and instantly made myself and my son feel at home. When I asked for a room that could cater with a view , the room that we were allocated was exceptional. The twin room 123 looked on out to the loch, the high ceilings and fresh decor plus the lovely canvases in the main room and bathroom was so homely. The television had all the mod cons to keep my son amused in the evening after our lovely meal in the hotel restaurant. The bar staff also helped me with my beverages back to the room and we're very friendly and willing to help.

The only thing I would say is a more direct route from the hotel to the shore of the loch. There were construction work going on across the road that blocked the main path but that's only temporary so I'd still give the stay a 10

This was a weekend away for us, and we were not disappointed. I made a request before arrival, and my request was no issue. Staff were very friendly, and the atmosphere was relaxed with no airs or graces. Nothing was too much bother for anyone. Excellent value for money. The food was freshly cooked, and the highland broth was bloody delicious 😋 I would certainly recommend a stay here. I won't hesitate to return.

Breakfast could be a little better organised. I'm not a lover of dogs, so dogs allowed in the restaurant area was a thumbs down for me but didn't detract us from having a great weekend. I'd also like a wee bit more shelf space in the bathroom for toiletries.....but that's just me !!

This was one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. A very unique building from the outside, and incredibly spacious and comfortable on the inside. We had a superior room in one of the round turret bits of the hotel with an enormous window looking right onto Loch Lomond. Big comfortable bed, which was made up daily. The room was also well stocked with teas/coffees and an ever replenishing cast of tunnocks confectionary. The location is perfect as it’s where the a82/a83 intersect, so it makes for an ideal base for day trips to Glencoe, Fort William, Campbeltown, Oban or even further afield depending on your daily driving tolerance. We only used the restaurant on a few occasions but it was very reasonably priced for the quality of food, and a beautiful big dining room with loch views. The staff were all very polite and happy to help, and with a very relaxed customer service style that doesn’t make you feel badgered like in some hotels.

I can’t really think of a single negative. If I dredge deep then I suppose having hot chocolate sachets in the room could be nice, and hash browns in the breakfast.

Beautiful exterior and lobby, the best feel of hotel throughtout our trip. Warm and rustic. Loved seeing redwood trees and monkey puzzle nearby our favourite trees. Good TV and nice welcome snacks , nice view outside and a short walk to loch. Enjoyed our meals in the restaurant and Gin fizz cocktail was lovely.

The door lock was a bit stubborn. Shower switch needs to be explained as shower was too cold at first so couldnt wash hair before dinner. Realised what the switch does later on. The blue heater switch is too bright at night. The bed did feel a bit 'short' but was comfortable.

As noted, the room was otherwise clean. The main selling point for this hotel is the value they clearly have for their staff. According to the bar menu, they pay their staff a real living wage and the way the economy is right now that was really wonderful to see. The staff in turn were extremely helpful and friendly and we could not fault them. For that reason alone, I'd return.

The only complaints we had are minor in the grand scheme of our stay. It is clear money has been put into the front reception area of the hotel rather than the bedrooms, but altogether the room was comfortable and clean just a little more basic than we initially thought. The room was also very cold upon arrival and there were three dead or half dead wasps in the room but as no more came in, we did not report it at the time as an issue so perhaps a suggestion for staff to check the room before marking it as ready to receive guests.

Quick check-in. Friendly reception staff. Attentive bar staff. Excellent selection and quality of dinner meals. Breakfast is reasonable, but additional selection would have enhanced the meal.

Breakfast..., Sunday 09:00hrs. No offer of milk or sweetener with coffee. Used plates not cleared from table when finished with. There is no indication that alternative items are available..., brown bread, poached eggs, and small smorgasbord has no labels indicating what is on offer.. , type of cheese/meat. Apple juice container empty and generally quantity of food in heated containers was not checked as regularly as required, so some items exhausted.. , scrambled eggs empty and no black pudding!

Beautiful hotel and great location. Easy to park and check in. Inside was very clean, rooms beautiful and bed was super comfy. Overlooking Loch lomand we had an extra treat seeing the northern lights from our bedroom window. We have driven past this hotel many times and assumed it was out of our price range. Very wrong, such good value for money and food was excellent and great value too. Staff were so friendly and answered and questions. We had regarding transport and the local area. We would definitely come again.

A welcoming smile from reception on arrival & departure, the bar staff were friendly & welcoming, all the staff very friendly. Our room was big, excellent shower & facilities & we could adjust the heating to our needs. The dining room is lovely & spacious, menu great, can recommend the Cajun chicken burger, excellent portion, needed help to finish it. Lovely lounge area for privacy & after meal drinks . Good parking at the hotel, fantastic views of Lough Lomond, & handy for any of the Lough tours. Beautiful Luss is down the road,minutes away & well worth a visit.

So pleased that I ignored the negative comments on previous reviews, we had great overnight stay, the staff couldn’t have been any more friendly and approachable, from the welcome at the reception to the barman and the serving staff. The food was really good value for money and delicious. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a large shower room and a view of the loch. The stairs and communal areas were clean and spacious. There is a lift, so suitable for people with reduced mobility. We had a great stay, thank you.

From a personal perspective I would have preferred to see a little more Scotland in this beautiful building, the walls and surfaces would benefit a more cosy feel but this did not detract from our enjoyment of the stay, and is more about personal taste.

The Target Hotel is in a stunning location. We stayed at the hotel for just 2 nights to conduct some family business in the area. The staff were welcoming and exceptionally helpful, especially Lesley on the front desk, who imparted her local knowledge about where to go and what to do which helped us to fill the 2 days we were there. It is understood the hotel is undergoing some refurbishment but overall the hotel was comfortable and the food very good. There is currently construction work to the leisure area opposite but this will only enhance the setting when finished.
