Nice location. Although out of the village itself, it is in a very pleasant spot, within short, easy walking of its sister property, The Old Inn, which served excellent food. Michael, our host, could not have been more welcoming and informative. Everything was well organised and nothing was too much trouble.

The property is in a great location, but is very tired inside & out. It really needs updating. On the whole, everything was clean and tidy, but the shower for example was virtually unusable. A trickle at best. It is a shame, because this could be really an excellent hotel, in an excellent location. Michael, however could not be vaulted, he was hard-working and very welcoming.

Cosy comfortable room with excellent view of the harbour. Facilities all good. Location was great with an easy quick walk to the sister hotel (the Old Inn) for dinner where service & food was superb. Honesty bar was rather novel & the lounge was spacious & comfortable. Staff very friendly , welcoming & helpful.

Breakfast could possibly be a bit more organised. You had to order what cooked food you wanted the night before to avoid unnecessary waste (good idea) but then when we came down for breakfast somebody had obviously taken more than they ordered so we didn’t get ours! There was plenty other cold breakfast food available but not hot food. We were however compensated with complimentary filled rolls to take away with us for a snack lunch which was appreciated.

In a lovely location we had double aspect room, with woodland hill view and from the other a view across Gairloch and the sea. Lovely sunset and view of the moon. Room spacious and comfy. Staff went above and beyond for us. Nothing was a bother from getting us fed as we arrived after 9pm to planning routes for our forward travel.

Nothing we could fault. Yes it’s an old building but with that is a charm. It had a lovely warmth with it, you were made to feel special. Something we’ve not experienced before!!

The professional way we were greeted and looked after. Friendly, polite, helpful staff with an excellent, caring manageress. The booked food in the evening was excellent value for money. A good set up at breakfast time with yet another kind and helpful member of staff, in one of the busiest hotels we have stayed in over the last 10 days. A brilliant location with excellent walks nearby. Lovely for tiring out an over energetic dog.

The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was very comfortable and there was an extensive choice of breakfast. I was particularly impressed that we were asked to indicate what we wanted for breakfast the previous evening to reduce waste.

If I were being picky there were a couple of thins missing from the tea tray in my room but there were quickly provided when I asked.

Great choice and super service at breakfast with local specialities and waiter even went and found Worcestershire sauce from the other kitchen. Lots of items are cooked fresh there and then in front of you Boss / manager very helpful for ideas, directions etc. big maps on the walls. Very accommodating if you wish to bring a takeaway meal or similar.

We were moved to the Old Inn because of maintenance issues. The Inn was very nice. They had a variety of both hot and cold items for breakfast. Dinner in the pub downstairs was very good. We discovered a walk next to the Inn to a waterfall which was quite nice.

Location Room was excellent, sparklingly clean, great shower Excellent breakfast Friendly & helpful staff

Nothing really, except…….. Egg option at breakfast - only boiled or poached, neither of which would be my choice. A small thing but small things matter.

Good location for NC500. Breakfast was good and served in the bar so our dog could come as dogs are not allowed in the restaurant and we have no problem with this. Staff friendly and room comfortable even provided bed, blanket and bowl for our dog.

The misleading sign about how it is the law that dogs are not allowed in the restaurant. Dogs are allowed in restaurants, bars etc. What the law says (Health and Safety Law) is they are not allowed in the areas where food is prepared i.e the kitchens. So if an establishment does not allow dogs in their restaurant it is company policy which is fine so just say that.

The view of the harbor from our room and the dinning room. The attentive care given to my wife who is celiac by all the staff in a discreet way. How we were folded in with a much larger walking group and several other independent travelers. It was quiet, a Ring Tail Pheasant walked passed us on the morning walking out to the car. The bathroom was spacious and I could figure out how to work everything. The morning breakfast was fine tuned about what we liked.

Nothing to report that I can think off. The staff aimed to please all the visitors. Everyone looked to be hardy souls and dressed for the elements that varied during our stay….maybe about forty visitors.
