I am very fond of this hotel. It is a lovely country house hotel with a stunning view over the adjacent sea loch. The ambience, room, bar and restaurant facilities are all generally excellent and the people are friendly and efficient. It is expensive but you can see what you are getting for the price.
Both this visit and my last visit in July 2023 were let down by the variable quality of the food in the restaurant. The restaurant holds itself as presenting local food to a high standard from an intentionally limited menu. At each meal almost everything was perfect apart from one item. This time the starters that my partner and I had at dinner were excellent and our main courses (pheasant and accompaniments) were beautifully presented but the pheasant itself was over-cooked and seriously tough. At breakfast we both had poached eggs with (in my case) bacon and (in my partner's case) smoked haddock. The bacon and haddock were fine but the poached eggs had almost solid yokes and very solid whites. They tasted as if they had been part-cooked in advance then heated up to serve.

Lovely old world sort of luxury. Beautiful outlook. Brilliant staff and great food, apart from my profiteroles which were a tad disappointing considering the high quality of other courses.
It was a little difficult to find - not well signposted.

The staff were very welcoming. The location was loch-side and it felt very special. The room was large, with plenty of room to hang clothes etc. The food at breakfast and dinner was superb, served by friendly and knowledgeable staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. There was even real ale (albeit in bottles) on offer in the lounge. Excellent. I will be returning next summer.
A free breakfast when I booked. I was told that had I not booked by stay with Booking.com and dealt directly with the hotel, I would have had a free breakfast. I will do this net year. I am finding time and again that is is cheaper to do this and not book via booking.com

The hotel is a XIX century hunting residence redone into a boutique hotel. Views from the hotel are stunning. Staff is super friendly and the hotel has a soul. Breakfast is excellent, plenty of options to choose from. Restaurant - good quality food. Room was rather small but very clean and overall comfortable. Quiet area.
Dinner prices at hotel's restaurant are quite high - you easily end up with a 90-100 GBP / person, which is pretty high for decent, but not exceptional food.

I had been out on the hills in Torridon and due to poor weather on the hills I arrived about 2 hours after the time I had previously indicated on my booking. When I checked in I said that I assumed that I was too late for dinner and was told that the chef could do me a meat and cheese platter in the bar. The meal was excellent. At check in I explained that I needed to leave as soon as soon as possible after breakfast. At breakfast it was the same lady that had been at reception the previous evening and she did an excellent job in providing my breakfast as quickly as possible. The location is stunning and I will return again for a family visit.

A first class country house hotel with a stunning lochside position. As you would expect, the ambiance, facilities, food and drink were all generally excellent; my room was comfortable in a pleasantly old-fashioned sort of way.
A few elements of the restaurant service could have been improved. My saddle of lamb and its accompaniments were magnificent, but the "croutons" with my tomato velouté starter were almost immediately totally soggy and the "profiteroles" I ordered for dessert were simply balls of ice cream with choux pastry top and bottom.

An exceptional property, felt like we'd walked into Downton Abbey in the 1900s and out of the real world. The selection of whisky was simply vast... we tried a few !... the bar was warm and welcoming and the barman was helpful and courteous. The other rooms downstairs were beautiful. We stayed in for Dinner and were provided with an exceptional 2 course meal. The breakfast was simply superb.... Scrambled eggs and smoked salmon (Yum). Every member of staff we met were friendly and caring, I saw them take care of some elderly guests with patience and dignity.
Our room was small, but that's because we booked the day we arrived and that was what was available, but it was clean, comfortable and well equipped.

I cannot fault this lodge! The owners were so welcoming and friendly. Everything has been thought out to an exceptional standard Their chef is a genius and everything is done to perfection The best whisky collection we’ve come across at a hotel this size Beautiful grounds and very dog friendly, even a little doggy bag on arrival
It’s too far for us to make it an annual visit! Honestly can’t fault them!

Booked the family room for two adults and a four year old. The second bed was a single so definitely enough room for the three of us. The bathroom was a good size and room looked out over the lake. Plenty of parking at the hotel. The grounds and area around the hotel offer great scenery. The food there was excellent. We had the “tasting menu” with matching wines for dinner and is really worth trying. The staff were all very helpful and accommodating.
Nothing to fault

The staff were attentive, courteous and warm, without exception. There was a good sense of the staff working together to provide guests with a super experience. During our visit, Victor seemed to be the lead staff member and he could not have been nicer or more proffessional in this role. The bedroom was lovely and spacious with good furniture and a very nice bathroom. The food was excellent in every way; delicious, varied and beautifully presented. Breakfast was excellent. The downstairs communal rooms were plentiful and spaciuos. There was always somewhere lovely to sit and read or chat. The snooker table was great fun. Cocktails were delicious, served by Alasdair, who knows his stuff!
If I have to find a fault, the bathroom sink was a bit squashed in and there wasn't a surface to put things on in the bathroom, but I'm sure this could be rectified as it was very roomy. The shower was large and spacious. A bedroom tea making tray would be handy, so any spilt water doesn't damage the wooden furniture.
