This hotel went above and beyond for our dog, Casper. We were thrilled to see a hotel near the city centre that was dog friendly, this hotel though, was a doggy haven. They left the best doggie welcome bag with a toy, treats, and poo bags on the bed, they greeted Casper by name when we checked in, and when we had breakfast the very nice server - who was a different person from check in - asked us for our orders and then said "And, would Casper like a sausage?" They also knew his name! The sausage was cooled and cut for him even. This fantastic attention to detail made the stay all the more special for us (the humans!) The room was very comfortable with an ensuite and TV, it was easy to find location wise, breakfast was delicious with several options to order from as well as a section to choose from, and the staff were phenomenal! We will absolutely be staying here again. It is certainly Casper's favourite hotel!

There wasn't much that they could do differently. They exceeded our expectations in every way.

2 weeks before Xmas and the hotel was in full swing with functions and parties. The staff were nontheless amazing, cheerful, generous and helpful. They gave my delighted dog a sausage by the kitchen back door when we went for evening walkies. Our dinner was made memorable by the delicious chicken fajitas extravaganza that my teenager chose. My fish n chips were ace but not in the same league as said extravaganza! The breakfast was also just right as we were both frayed at the edges from lack of sleep in our noisy room overlooking the main road. I'll ask for a quiet room next time. As we had our dog, we ate dinner and breakfast in the reception area. They have a cute doggie station with treats and toys near the reception area too. Our room also had 2 poop bags, chews and a ball. I've never come across such a dog welcoming hotel as The Chieftain hotel. Thank you for taking a care of the 3 of us.

Only one thing stopped our stay from being perfect and that was the traffic noise from the main road and hearing people chat as they walked past. The road wasn't busy, about 1 car every 30 seconds all through the night, but we're used to utter peace at night time so we were kept wide awake which made the following day hellish. The window in room 3 is utterly unequal to the task.

the breakfast was very good cant fault it the room was roomy and comfortable the beds were very comfortable didn't have dinner so cant comment on that but from the look of it it seemed very nice.

Didn't like the disable parking space and the fact someone cant park in their own space and took up most of the disabled space making it hard to park. Didn't like the fact that nothing was done about it when it was reported to staff on more the one occasion and the person who cant park was still in part of the disabled space in the morning when we left which makes me think it was the manager or staff member who need lessons in parking

The room was very big with a corridor that had plenty of wardrobe space leading to a fantastic bathroom, there were a lot of nice touches from free toiletries including body wash, shampoo & conditioner & complimentary cans of Iron Bru, and shortbread biscuits, the hotel had a really nice sports bar attached and a good value restaurant on site, the inclusive Breakfast was amazing.

Due to the design of the building, there was a bulkhead in the room which I had to be very careful not to bang my head on but it wasn't a problem and is part and parcel of the character of the building.

This suited us, as we were just using it as a stopover. but it is a long way from the centre if you are looking to explore Inverness. However, it is friendly and welcoming and the food was good, which is just as well, as there isn't much else nearby. The room had everything you need and was comfortable.

The overall impression was that the place was a little bit 'tired', but it looked as if some areas had been upgraded.

The breakfast was by far the best cooked breakfast I have had in any hotel. Every single day it was of the same very high standard. The male staff member running breakfast each day of our visit was extremely friendly and by our last day had noticed my partner had tea each morning - by our last day he met us at our table at breakfast with freshly brewed tea for my partner without even being asked - he personally, was fantastic!

I am not sure whether it was a problem with the window as it did not appear to be fully closed at the top (we couldnt close/fix this) or just the thin windows but there was strong winds coming in each evening and we were sadly awoken each morning by the very loud hotel delivery van banging around and unloading below our window. To add to this, the walls were very thin within rooms and we were kept awake our first 2 nights by our neighbours and the noise of their shower buzzing.

Staff was wonderful! Liz the manager was always helpful and kind. They definitely made you feel welcome and quick to help when needed. Would highly recommend the Chieftain for anybody traveling to Inverness. And let’s not forget to mention they have a wonderful breakfast for those needing some sustenance for a day of exploring! Let me say the Chieftain is a great choice to stay when in Inverness.

The room was nice, pretty small but pretty clean, the bathroom as well. We had a restful night here and a good breakfast in the morning. It is pretty close to the center, about a 15minutes leisure walk to the main attractions and pubs. Overall, pretty good value for money.

The stairs are pretty narrow and steep, but I think that's just how it is in older buildings.

Generous space for four of us in a room (one double and two twin beds and a huge space in between). The room had plenty of shortbred and tea (which we enjoyed after dinner), which made us feel that we finally made it to in Scotland! Thank you. The breakfast was a full Scottish thorughfare and gave us a wonderful start for the day.

The room was big and well equipped. The staff were very good especially the hotel manager. Breakfast is very good. They have good restaurant and sports bar but we could not enjoy that.

Our room was facing the highway and the hotel is near the train station. We had to open the window for some ventilation which led to disturbed sleep.
