Owners were very friendly and welcoming, along with their dogs and very chilled cat. The b&b is certainly dog friendly. Cooked breakfast was excellent. Location was very pretty and beautifully quiet.

I was a little dismayed to find I couldn't shut my bedroom door (the door is very old and twisted). Although there was a catch on the outside of the door, there was nothing on the inside so I had to prop it shut with a bag. I was worried my two dogs staying with me in the room might decide to go exploring in the middle of the night - although thankfully they behaved themselves.

Lovely farmhouse, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Room was spacious and well-planned out to accommodate us and the dog. Breakfast was lovely except we found it rather strange that the granola was already portioned out into the bowl. However, it was delicious and I'm sure the host would have provided a second helping if we had asked.

The temperature hit 7C and there was no heating in the bathroom so rather cold to take showers.

Beautiful property, loved the decor and the bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in! Evening meal and breakfast were lovely, delicious local products and Charles was a very helpful host with directing us where to go on walks nearby

No fault of the host but unfortunately there were electrical issues which meant there was no hot water in the morning for a nice shower (shame as it was lovely and powerful just freezing!) Power also was tripping in the evening so lamps in the room and charging sockets didn’t work initially but did come back on quite late in the night Garden lovely but do watch step as there is dog mess around - I did read this in a previous review so knew to look out as I needed to walk my dog around the garden

Delicious breakfast especially Forthay's own delicious muesli. The property itself is very attractive and well tended. Especially lovely was an evening reading by the fire in the 'snug' after a long day out walking. Our hosts were gracious, generous and provided excellent suggestions about walks and dining out.

A must for anyone walking the Cotswold Way - just a short detour off the path down into Forthay and you come across this gorgeous, historical BnB. Cozy bedrooms, hot showers and the 'snug' which is a lovely sitting room for guests made this one of my favourite stays while walking the Cotswolds. Highly recommend the Supper Menu - a home cooked delight which had me rolling off to bed very satisfied (not to mention the amazing selection of muesli [they make their own] and hot breakfast the following morning).

Very friendly, welcoming and helpful host (Charles). Beautiful, characterful, house. Fantastic meals (Supper and Breakfast). Great rural location. Very dog friendly.

Mattresses bit too soft for our liking. Some of the pricing on booking.com is clearly out of date (e.g. additional charge for dog, supper menu, etc.) not a major problem (supper still great value!) however should probably be updated. Needed to take care crossing the garden in order to avoid occasional stray dog poo!

Our stay at the Forthay was wonderful. We loved getting to hang out in the snug with Humphrey the cat, and our host Charles made sure to give us local recommendations--don't miss the Black Horse Inn for dinner! The room was very comfortable and cozy, and breakfast was delicious.

We wish we could have met the dogs!

Off to a great start when Charles welcomed us with a pot of tea, served in the beautiful garden, when we arrived Friday afternoon. We were also welcomed by Humphrey, the friendly ginger tom cat! We loved the old, but very clean and comfortable, quirky house. Breakfast was superb. Debs served us on Sunday morning and she was as friendly as Charles. Our attic twin bed room was clean and comfortable, with an adjacent shower room which was equally good.

My only niggle was that the blind on one of the dormer windows in our bedroom didn't fit properly. This meant that the light streamed into our room at dawn, waking me up.

everything was perfect. the room, the hospitality and the food. the house itself is complete magical - a stunningly restored 17th century farm house. there is whimsical art mixed with stately antiques throughout the home. we were welcomed with tea and scones upon arrival and then shown to our room which was beautifully appointed with a lovely big bathroom with walk in shower. the bedding was yummy. the breakfast was excellent as well - can’t say enough good things about the home and hospitality of Deb and Charles.

Lovely friendly gentleman who gave us a warm welcome. He was very accomadating and allowed me to leave my stuff early in the morning while I went to the wedding venue to get ready with the bride and he brought my suitcases to my room.
