We arrived at the hotel in the early evening on a Saturday, plenty of parking although car park was busier than expected probably due to the adjoining restaurant. We’d completed check in details online so quick and easy process. The place is like a tardis… lots of corridors and doors to go through to find your room, but luckily, pretty clearly signposted! The room was cosy and decorated in a nice simple and modern way, nothing fancy but doesn’t appear dated. Kettle provided with ample tea/coffee and proper sized mugs! Decent size wall mounted TV. Bed was super comfortable as were the pillows. Plenty of towels and some complimentary toiletries provided, plus everything was properly clean. Our stay included breakfast, which was served in the restaurant. Perfect way to start the day, before checking out and heading to Carrow Road to watch our team (QPR). The hotel is perfectly situated for visiting Norwich city and surrounding areas.

No view from the window, which looked out onto a flat roof and an air conditioner unit, but it was dark when we arrived and we didn’t expect to be looking out of the window anyway. Only downside to the hotel (which bothered my partner more than it did me, and the reason she says she wouldn’t return again), was the noisy pipes, you could hear the toilets flushing and taps running from all over the building in our room, consistently throughout the night. If you are a light sleeper, I’d recommend talking earplugs!

On the day of my arrival, a Wednesday, I did not prebook evening meal, but changed my mind. At 7:45pm I was told that there was no food unless I was prepared to wait. At next meal, breakfast, again I did not prebook. I came down 15 minutes before the due opening time and saw no one for 10 minutes, and returned to my room. Arrived back in restaurant area 5 minutes after it opened, and took a seat for 10 minutes and was ignored. Had breakfast elsewhere

Breakfast was lovely as always We have stared several time over the last couple of years,so we know the form, however there was no invite/ explanation to the breakfast bar/juice etc, which I also notice either around me were also not invited to I has requested a room with a bath and feather free pillows which I was delighted to have been blessed with both. Thankyou very much appreciated

The bath/shower I feel was an accident waiting to happen, there was no slip mat or handrail to susport, No water supplied in the room which would have been a welcome especially as it was so hot The kettle is to big to fill in the sink, needed to fill a cup then pour into kettle The iron was a travel iron and not a full size, There is parking but not a lot, unless you arrive early which as experienced stayers we are aware of, there is off street parking but can be. Bit of a walk,

The greeting from all the staff was a wonderful as if coming home to family. Warm, courteous, nothing was too much to ask for. The dinner was first rate, excellent value for money. The staff in the bistro were first rate. Managed a really busy service with effortless grace. Helpful when questions needed answers, excellent repartee when appropriate, and true assets to the hotel. Breakfast suited both our tastes. Room was basic but very comfortable and very clean. Good parking facilities and easy access into the centre of Norwich

The room was as far away from reception as you could get. This is the second time this has happened using booking.com. Wish there was more non dining seating in the bar area.

The hotel and our room were excellent and in "as new" condition. Breakfast was included in the price and offered a wide range of options from the main menu in addition to the continental breakfast. The dinner menu was relatively limited but well cooked and presented, and we enjoyed the meal the first night so much we went there for the second night as well. It was only a 20 minute walk into town, with plenty of parking on-site.

The staff are very welcoming and friendly. Our double room was really clean and comfortable with a huge ensuite and great shower. The breakfast was very good with a lot of choices too. We have stayed here quite a few times now and would recommend it to others. It is very easy to walk into town and the hotel was very accommodating when we arrived early, they let us park our car there before check in. Thank you for a lovely stay.

The only thing was our room was above the dining room or kitchen and so you could hear everything from below us. There was quite a lot of banging and crashing. It did stop by about 10pm though so it was quiet during the night but started again very early in the morning.

The location of the hotel gives great access to the city centre on foot/bus and quick access elsewhere by road. The bar and restaurant area is very pleasant, with an outside seating area. The staff were excellent and always helpful. It was real service with a smile. Breakfast and evening meal were consistently good. I was in a single room, which was a good size and had everything I needed.

The shower was in the bath, which might not suit everyone. The sound insulation isn't great and the water pipes a bit noisy, but they are probably more noticeable because of the quiet location of the hotel.

All staff helpful, friendly and professional. Breakfast was delicious, plentiful and with plenty of choice. Bed was comfortable and large. TV a good size and conveniently placed. Good shower, electric towel heater (v. useful). Plenty of plug sockets. MUGS not cups...yay!!! Nice area (golden triangle) and very convenient for visiting family and walking into town. Will definitely book here again!

Only issue was the bathroom. Shower temperature changed frequently whilst in use and I almost burned my back. Taps in the sink too close to the sides of the sink so you couldn't get hands under the stream of water. No anti slip mat in the bath.

The hotel is conveniently located close to the University of East Anglia where we were visiting for our son's graduation. The staff were wonderfully helpful and friendly, and they made our stay are memorable by being so genuinely accommodating with our requests for everything from last minute sandwiches and prosecco, to filling our water bottles when we left . The rooms were clean, beds very comfortable and the bar and restaurant offered a well balanced, fresh and delicious menu . Thank-you to everyone at The George, especially Nad, and Michelle and the F&B team .

The car park is a little small but we were always able to find a space . We usually stay in an Executive room , and missed the excellent coffee pod machine coffee. There is a tea , coffee and hot chocolate tray in the standard rooms which was also good , but we've been spoilt by the coffee machine!

Beautifully furnished and well decorated hotel with both a modern and traditional twist. The emphasis is on beauty and comfort. The staff are very kind and knowledgeable. The food is excellent with great choices available for breakfast. I will definitely plan to stay again as it really is a very special place.

My pillows were a little hard for me. The bed was exceptionally comfortable though with beautiful bedding. I realise that I should have asked for a different pillow as I imagine that I could have swapped for a slightly softer one!
