Clean, spacious, 20 minutes walk to city centre. The castle pub itself was nice with a beautiful outdoor seating area, also 5 minutes walk to another pub that did lovely food. Would definitely stay again.

Bed wasn't very comfortable, although for 3 nights it was ok. Breakfast!! We actually thought we were getting a cooked breakfast, Our fault for not reading description properly, You just assume "breakfast included" means a cooked breakfast. Didn't get coffee or bread topped up, only had 4 sachets of coffee and a small loaf to last 2 of us for 3 nights.. Also we only had 1 toilet roll when we got there.. I'm sure we could have had more "loo roll, coffee, bread etc.." but didn't want to keep asking.

Excellent value for money if you simply want somewhere to stay relatively close to city centre. The rooms are separate from the main building and have en suite, large fridge, coffee machine, microwave, kitchen area. Could not get anything close to this price. 10 mins walk max from the cathedral Very clean Breakfast is small packs of cereal, bread for toast with jams etc, and a small bottle of milk and a large carton of orange. They are left in the room for you.

It's not a hotel, it is a pub with a rooms business. If you want a hotel, book one and pay a LOT more. Couldn't get the underfloor heating to work in rm 7 but the wall heater/ air con soon warmed the room up. Ideally I would have preferred a larger bottle of milk to make better use of the ample tea, coffee and cereals, but I appreciate not everyone would use it

The room included a kitchen and food for breakfast. The property was part of a public house but we were not disturbed by any noise from that area; although being on a main road there was a lot of traffic noise well into the night.

The bathroom was adequate although the skirting board was in need of replacing or great deal of refurbishment and the shower edges appeared to be in need of a deep clean. The shade on the kitchen window also required dusting. Otherwise the apartment was clean and the beds were fine. The gentleman working in the bar was very helpful.

Little kitchenette is well equipped. Comfortable mattresses. Room is very spacious. Blackout curtains. Short walk from cathedral. Free parking space. Lovely cleaning lady.

1. Saturday night the disco in the pub was on until 2am, very noisy music and public. We had a sleepless night. But it could be good if you want to participate. 2. If you walk to the cathedral or town centre, you need to cross unregulated roads on roundabout with fast traffic. 3. There is no towel dryer in the bathroom, and no furniture to place them in the room under aicon to dry. So on the second day we had to use wet towels.

They were very private rooms with lots of space. I liked that it was extra safe with the gate locking system. The whole room was clean and up to standard. Very good value for money! Staff were lovely and welcoming, allowing me early access to decorate the room.

The tap had a leak when used. And the air on constantly makes a clicking sound. Needed more mirrors, as wasn’t a big mirror to get ready in.

Accommodation set away from the bar so not impacted if it was busy. Property had A/C and underfloor heating in the bathroom! Good selection of foods for breakfast Comfy bed

Only 1 of everything cutlery / kitchen wise - just meant I had to do some washing up! Although no sponge or liquid provided (that I could find!)

Good value studio apartment with free parking within walking distance of town centre. Compact but had everything we needed - comfy bed, plenty of hanging space, iron, tv, Wi-Fi, modern en suite with good shower, plenty of mirrors, kitchenette with fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee maker. Bread, milk, oj, butter, jams, tea , coffee capsules and cereals provided for breakfast. Lovely staff were very welcoming. Concerned we would have road noise but slept very well and black out curtains were great. Made use of the very friendly pub bar. All in all a much better option than the usual travelodge / premier inn alternatives.

Great room, cosy and well equipt. We were well impressed. For £102 what do you want.? Drinks in the bar were nice, breakfast in the room with fresh orange juice, milk and Yorkshire tea bags (the best imo!) was great. All in we had a nice stay and would stay again. We live 20 or so miles away so glad this is on our doorstep. Cheers!

Road noise is present as the room is facing the roundabout, but who cares, didn't matter as I'd drank 300 gin and tonics so slept like a log!

Really comfortable bed - I had a great night's sleep 😴 Very clean and tidy with continental breakfast facilities in the room Excellent value for money 🤑 Proprietor very helpful in assisting and advice for local nearby places to eat for the evening. I've added photos of the interior as mine was like a self contained apartment building and outside photos available online when you Google it or look on booking.com

Unfortunately the bar was closed Mondays and Tuesdays due to lack of local demand - circumstances beyond control 🙂 on the plus side very helpful in assisting me to find somewhere local to eat.

the unit was great. very clean and modern with everything you need, even bits to make your own breakfast and REAL MILK in the fridge. really lovely touches.

the pub itself is much more run down than it looks in the pictures here, and the units are round the back with all the detritus you’d expect round the back of a pub. the pub is also on a busy roundabout, which was very difficult to cross safely.
