Location is ideal. Shower and bath was nice. Nespresso machine in room. We appreciated the hotel's willingness to hold our luggage while we explored Oxford before our train ride back to London.

I was under the impression that an extra bed for my son would be available in the room which was booked for 3 adults. I expected a sofa bed. However, upon arrival, there was no sofa and I was told that I would need to pay for a cot but housekeeping had left for the day. I can't imagine how a cot would have fit in a room of that size. The "emergency" (trundle) bed had no sheets on it, so front desk staff brought up sheets for my son to put on himself. Ultimately, it all worked out but stress after checking in after a long day of travel was not what I anticipated.

Location for walking the city was great. Looks a little run down on the outside. Staff very accommodating. In fact, we admired the receptionist for dealing patiently dealing with a totally un-reasonable, rude, loud and over-demanding customer at the desk when we were checking in.

We were placed in a basement (windowless) room and the bathroom had a mechanical noise whenever the water was used - asking at the front desk, they said it was the plumbing/on-demand and nothing could be done. We got used to it. The movable, wall-mounted bathroom vanity mirror was broken and hanging down- we reported to the staff each day (for 3 days) but it was not fixed or attended to by the time we left.

Staff were friendly and accommodating. We were given the option to drop our bags and leave in their storage area before check in and after we'd checked out so we could explore the city without our luggage. The room was clean and somewhat spacious for a basement room. No window for the basement rooms but did reduce the overall cost. They did have AC thankfully as it was rather warm which worked well. Shower room was well stocked and was nice and clean. No breakfast on the premises but they have a deal with the cafe/restaurant next door where you get 10% off. The Oxford Brunch Bar in which you can go for breakfast was delicious. Really good selection of quality food at a very reasonable price.

I would have preferred a pump action soap rather than a block for the wash basin but that's more of a personal preference. As the room had no window, a larger TV with a scenery function (e.g. camera view of Oxford) would be pleasant. Not sure I'd like to spend more than 2 or 3 nights in a room without a window, but the hotel does make the stay cheaper by selecting these rooms which is good for a weekend getaway!

This hotel is positioned in a very convenient place to easily reach all other attractions in Oxford. The staff was helpful and especially I want to thank you Minakshi who was able to change our room with a better view after my request. The rooms were clean, with air conditioning, a small fridge, a safety box, and many more helpful items. In general, it was a pleasant stay. Happy to stay again or recommend it to family or friends only if the price is more reasonable.

I wished I could stay in the room with the view advertised during my booking from the first night. Breakfast wasn't included during my stay and for a price above £300.00/ night, I believe it was overpriced. Balconies needed a proper clean from spider nets.

Check in host was friendly, knowledgeable and made the check in and check out process smooth, seamless and enjoyable. Two double bed room was spacious enough, but also still a bit on the smaller side. It was clean enough, but the aircondition unit should be cleaned. The bathroom was small but very nice and had impressive heated floors. Location was perfection, you could walk anywhere within 20-25 minutes. Lots of cafes, shops and attractions within minutes of walking. Ideal location, would recommend and will stay again on my next trip to Oxford.

Aircondition to be cleaned, but this is my only 'dislike'. No other complaints!

Staff were lovely and welcoming, room was comfortable, very spacious, clean and decorated superbly...very impressed with decor tbf, bed was comfortable and bathroom/shower was very good...room had everything you need, fridge, iron, safe, kettle. Location was good right on main street opposite the theatre with plenty of access to attractions and local eateries. Felt very safe at all times staying here as a solo traveller with key card access and 24/7 staff. Very impressed with whole hotel.

Even though location was great it was noisy into the evening outside and doors closing throughout the hotel could be heard (if your a heavy sleeper though it will not be a problem). Only freeview avaliable on tv. Some of lightbulbs also did not work.

Lovely comfortable room, lovely decor. Very comfortable beds, clean. Wonderful touches - l'Occitane En Provence toiletries. Very helpful and friendly staff. Exceptional location, central to city and literally 5 steps away from the New Theatre which is why we were in town. I'd seen some reviews where people had different experiences but we honestly had the best time, loved the place, and were so well treated by the wonderful staff on reception. I knew there was no parking but I expected that in Oxford City Centre. Had a fantastic breakfast at the Oxford Brunch Bar next door, with a small but still welcome discount.as a hotel guest. Would definitely stay again..Great boutique hotel. No complaints from us.

I hadn't been aware of the pre-charge deposit for damage which is cancelled on check out. I booked through booking.com and hadnt seen that mentioned. But it wasn't a problem.

Oxford is expensive so this is one of the "cheaper" places. Location is perfect and quiet due to the no windows - this was strange the first time I stayed but is actually a plus for quiet and dark at night. Staff were friendly throughout stay and helpful when I had travel issues on day of check out. They will hold your luggage for you too at arrival and departure to make the most of your stay.

You get two pillows; it would be great if they were of different depths/firmness. Might be a bit too much to ask for on their budget.

Great location, lovely room, very nicely appointed

Entrance to property is hard to find and also feels a bit dodgy. You are literally in a vestibule off the street and it made me a bit uneasy. Once inside, you have to take an elevator up to the reception. If my husband hadn’t been with me, I would have felt extremely uncomfortable. But once at reception, it was lovely and front desk receptionist was helpful and friendly!

Location was perfect for the centre of Oxford. Despite being on a busy street, room was quiet. Bathroom was well appointed with a good shower. Room was OK. The Brunch Bar next door does great breakfasts. Apparantly there was a discount for guests but we didn't see anything in our room. The hotel felt very safe with the security at the door to get in and 24hr staff.

There is no communal area at the hotel only the reception lobby. On arrival they will take a holding deposit of £200 off your card. Not great if you are budgeting for the w/e. Be prepared!
