Beautiful, old country house hotel. Spacious room, excellent breakfasts, and friendly staff. Plenty of parking, and short walk to the centre of the village.
Nothing!

On arrival the staff were extremely helpful and attentive. My booked room was a large single which exceeded expectations. Very comfortable bed, large bathroom, with the most amazing hot, powerful shower! Had room service which was great, and the food was very tasty. The breakfast and service on the first morning of my two night stay was exceptional, and my room was made up before I got back. Parking free on site.
It's not a criticism as such, the building is old so sound proofing not great. I could hear coughing from next room on the first night and whatsapp messages pinging on the second night. Luckily otherwise guests quiet, but would've been kept awake if they were more rowdy! Breakfast on second morning not as good as first morning. Poached egg whites not quite cooked.

Beautiful building set in lovely grounds. Plenty of space to park. Staff were exceptional, attentive, efficient, helpful and polite. Lovely lounge/bar area that serves superb snacks. The restaurant is very elegant and the food was incredible. Bed was comfy, standard double was plenty big enough, excellent en suite bathroom.
The standard rooms are a bit of a trek from the lobby, plenty of stairs as you would expect from an older building. Would prefer a coffee/tea machine in the room instead of the old school kettle, and there was no full fat milk to be had anywhere!

The hotel is in a convenient location a short drive from central Lincoln, off a quiet drive and surrounded by attractive gardens. We had a friendly and warm welcome from the staff, and enjoyed two quiet nights in a comfortable room, great breakfast and an exceptional dinner on the first night for which we booked when making our hotel booking. The hotel was clean and well maintained, and we appreciated the availability of a variety of additional types of tea and extra milk, easily obtained from a station on a nearby landing.
Very little not to like. Having booked a higher grade room, we were disconcerted to be directed downstairs from the reception entrance and perhaps a little disappointed that our room therefore was a bit dark and had no particular view, just of a gravel pathway and outbuilding, though it was spacious. Whilst this did not contradict any of the previous information sent when booking, it might have been helpful to understand the variety of possible choices and views of rooms as we might have chosen to upgrade further for this birthday weekend.

Lovely old property with beautiful decor and sumptuous furnishings. Breakfast was really good, the vegetarian option was perfect using all fresh ingredients. A nice surprise was the free standing bath and complimentary Arran toiletries . Convenient for bus service to Lincoln City centre. We enjoyed sitting outside on the patio area overlooking the gardens.
The duvet was rather heavy for summer use. Didn't like the outside lights on at night , but keeping the curtains and shutters closed tight prevented airflow. To be fair there was an electric fan provided which was effective but too noisy to keep on all night.

The breakfast was excellent, a really good selection and the quality was exceptional. The whole stay was really great, staff very good and nothing was an effort. We also had dinner at the hotel that was also really good. We were also lucky to have stayed a couple days after their Christmas decorations were put up including the outside lights.
Not sure there was anything that we did not like, only that we were not staying longer, as we were staying on the top floor the bathroom did not have enough space for a shower to be mounted on the wall, but that was it.

Completely met expectations and was situated in a very quiet and secluded location. It's clear much emphasis is given to guests comfort, and the whole ambience is one of indulgence. Whilst we didn't dine in, other than to enjoy the fabulous breakfast, then I am sure the experience would have been very worthwhile, but we wanted to explore a little further. Next time, however, we will pencil in a full dining experience.
The incessant email communication from the hotel, which amounted to 12 e-mails, many of which were simply repeating ad infinitum what had already been said!

Staff went beyond what would have been expected. They were so friendly and helpful. Hotel was extremely comfortable, and every effort was made to accommodate our requests, especially having a baby and a dog. We had a problem with the shower and they not only listened to our complaint, but they installed a completely new shower unit during our stay. First class response! It is ideally placed for getting around the county and Lincoln itself. The village has reasonable amenities which are all within walking distance. First class breakfast.
Nothing to add in this category.

Were do I start.. This hotel was in my top 3 hotels I've stayed in. Couldn't fault the stay from start to finish. Staff, rooms and food were fabulous. Staff professional, friendly and could do enough for you.. Made you feel really welcome and special. Room was clean and spacious with some lovely features. Separate shower and bath in bathroom. Comfortable beds. Restaurant was beautifully laid out and food was excellent. Jonathan, Monty and Wendy you were particularly fabulous. Jonathan your Bailey's latté was the best I've tasted. Thank you all for making my daughters 30th a birthday to remember.
Very small niggle. The shower could have been a better design for the cubicle. It was an over head large fitted rainfall shower which is great if you want to wash your hair although it had a hand held small shower head too it was fixed so you couldn't move it very well.. With not needing to wash my hair had to try and manage with the small head. If my only concern was the style of shower for the size of cubicle then that's fantastic.. Wouldn't have mentioned it because it wasn't that bad but as you asked what I didn't like I thought I would just comment on that minor niggle. I'm sure the shower situation wouldn't be the same in every room. Just to add, the bathroom was lovely.

Old fashioned values Very pretty Great service
I would have liked the opportunity to see the other rooms as I’d booked an executive room and an upgrade I didn’t feel the room was as good as I was expecting. No bath and the shower / toilet felt like it had been put into a cupboard. Also I wasn’t expecting to have two single beds put together I would have thought it would have been a single large bed maybe even four posted would be more fitting to the establishment. The room was nice enough and spacious just needed a bit more luxury. The radiators also was either on or off even though they had thermostat valves of put onto 1 it was still boiling.
