The staff are incredible - all polite, diligent, and hard working. The cleaners are a brilliant part of the team, helpful, full of smiles, and they leave the place looking spotless! The food is delicious - it is clear the chef takes pride in their work! Every mouthful was cooked to perfection (I had the cheese souffle, lamb roast, and sticky toffee... Extremely indulgent, but I didn't feel like I had overindulged by the time I finished - a sign of well-portioned and excellently cooked meals!). The hotel is right next to the castle, so it is a perfect base if you're attending a live event there. Equally, because of the unique acoustics of the castle wall you will not be disturbed by any live music events. Especially with the delightfully comfortable beds.

The staff were extremely friendly and couldn't do enough. We were upgraded to a superior room/suite, so it was really excellent value. The room was really spacious with a bath and a shower. One of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had. All cooked fresh, very impressive. I was told about the free parking permit, which was a deposit of £10, then reimbursed at the end of the stay. Rooms were spotless. On the first day the heating went off and it was cold in the room, but as soon as I enquired it was put back on again (it had been an oversight only) Would definitely stay again.

It was a bit difficult to get a seat in the bar (as clearly very popular) but it was Christmas time, so no real issue.

Everything, clean, modern with a touch of olde worlde. Staff were so helpful. Would like to say this place is a gem in the Crown of Lincoln. Food is amazing and the selection of drinks is very good. Great place to stay ideal for the castle and Lincoln cathedral. Spread the word.

Staff were welcoming on arrival. We were fortunate enough to get a parking permit so essentially had free parking over the weekend. Excellent location for walking around the town centre. Room was stylish, spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast menu was varied and food was tasty.

We, and our friends who also stayed at the same time, felt the lighting in the bedrooms was very subdued, the best light was in the bathroom. Also, on the Saturday morning, there was only one person looking after the busy breakfast room and service was therefore 'leisurely'. Perhaps there are more staff on during the week.

The location is fantastic, up in the old town right by the Castle walls. We were upgraded as they were quiet. The room was lovely - very comfortable, nice bathroom with a bath, lovely bed, and a view of the Castle. The staff were great - extremely helpful and friendly. When we said we couldn't stay for a cooked breakfast as we were rushing they offered bacon sandwiches for us to go - brilliant! We arrived on a Sunday and the hotel has a really warm inviting feel, with Sunday lunch going on in the bar/restuarant. We loved it there!

It was a very cold couple of days. The radiator didn't pump heat out - but actually it was really fine as there was another heater and the room was plenty warm enough with that.

The location was perfect because it was close to the "old" town of Lincoln on the hill next to the castle and cathedral with a short walk. Everything was in walking distance. Breakfast was more then exceptional and has a nice selection of food choices. Our room was clean, the bathroom was larger then expected and had everything that we needed. What was nice is that our room had tea's, coffee and little cookies waiting which made our room stay increasingly comfortable. A shout out to the hotel staff as they were always helpful with a smile.

Well, the parking was a little bit of a challenge but we did managed to find a spot later in the day.

Blown away by the breakfast! The choice and quality of the ingredients were top notch right down to the butter. There is self service filter coffee but I asked for a latte and it was excellent, and staff were happy to provide a refill. Extra points for allowing ANY combo of items from the extensive menu, and not just choice of one. So generous! I had a lovely eggs Benedict and very good sourdough toast. Breakfast room is lovely as well. Very cosy and tastefully decorated. Nice to have quiet background music for atmosphere as well. Without the breakfast this might have been a 7 or 8 for the room but I’m just so impressed and it set me up perfectly for a day Christmas shopping.

The room (room 2) was nothing special, it was pretty cold with no sockets near the bed and right above the pub, so noisy till after 11:30pm. However the bathroom was lovely: Warm and clearly recently renovated. That said, the room was more than fine for the price. It’s excellent value.

On arrival we were able to get a permit for on street parking for a refundable £10, which was very useful. We received a warm welcome and went upstairs to our room. Initial impression were generally good. Plenty of space and storage, decent and modern en-suite and a reasonably comfortable bed. Location is excellent, with easy access to the historic town and there is a pleasant bar and restaurant on site. Breakfast, included in the rate, offered a good choice and our vegetarian full English was very tasty. The staff we encountered in the bar and at breakfast were polite and efficient. We would definitely consider staying again.

Bedroom window was hard to close properly as the handle was loose, so initially we had unwanted cold air and traffic noise. After a while we managed to get it closed properly. Toilet seat very creaky. Some furnishings a little tired looking. A lamp on the dresser with no plug socket nearby which was odd. Mostly minor complaints though, as the rest of our experience was very good.

Extremely friendly staff, The location was right next to Bars, restaurants and Lincoln Castle, with a view of the Water Tower from the superior room, very cosy rooms with lots of space, large bathroom everywhere was clean... The premises had there own bar and restaurant... lovely staff... Breakfast was lovely... The decor, menus, fixtures and fittings, everything as had a lot of thought put into making your stay pleasurable... There is nothing not to like about this place. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, but there are three car parks nearby that charge £10 for 24 hours.

Nice comfortable place - old style rooms made a pleasant change from faceless brand hotels. Friendly staff. Large clean bathroom. Easy walking distance to town - as long as you don't mind the walk back up Steep Hill. Car parking nearby - BUT BE WARNED!!!! Nice couple of pubs and an excellent Indian restaurant a short walk away. Good breakfast. Suited for older residents but you may have to walk up several flights of stairs to your room. Nice bar with real ale. Price fine.

Place is SOOOOO hot. Even without the central heating on, me and my friends all had to sleep with the fan on and the window open. We asked one of the staff and he couldn't explain it....be wary if you are parking in the public car parks opposite. We had our car broken into and multiple items stolen. May be a known crime area as we had a note from an attending PC left on the windscreen...not sure how he was made aware of it. DO NOT LEAVE ANY VALUABLES IN YOUR CAR if you are using the local public car parks.
