Location, charm, parking. The person at check-in was friendly, smiling, and accommodating.

Lack of “springs” Room was drab, mattress was worn, and the bathroom could be cleaner (towel basket) and shower head hung larger (not an issue for those shorter than 5’7). “Complimentary” breakfast was just empty trays of what was food probably if you got there at 7am sharp. The vibe was of a badly managed senior home cafeteria. Would not want to age there or have anyone retire. Fortunately, the check out person provided an excellent recommendation for breakfast in town (hither) which was great, yet an unexpected expense due to a poor experience of hotel management.

The location is the very best thing. Less than 5 minutes to the theaters from my room. I loved the history of the hotel. The hotel is beautiful. The latest owners have done a great job of upgrading the facility while retaining the historic appearance. The breakfast buffet is a great time and money saver. A great variety of hot and cold options so everyone can find something to eat to start the day and be on your way. The wonderful ice cream shop across the street, open late, is a delicious bonus.

Do you really need to put a king-sized bed in that small room? I think a queen would do so there would be a little more room around the bed. And easier to open and close the bathroom door.

Classic century-old hotel perfectly located in Ashland, within steps of the OSF, great restaurants, interesting shops,, and the wonderful Lithia Park. Attentive staff, quiet and comfortable room, stylish and elegant public spaces.

Its old world charm is in some ways a disadvantage. Rooms and baths are on the small side, in keeping with its 100 year old pedigree, but can feel cramped at times. Fortunately, all of downtown Ashland is easily at hand when one feels the need for more space to move around.

We loved the style in which ASH has been decorated. During an era when it appears that Hotels choose inferior furniture and decor for their rooms, we were immediately taken not only by our room but even the art work in the hallways, the lighting, and color schemes. Our room had super stylish chairs and couch and the drapes were very cool. We enjoyed the healthy complementary breakfast on the Mezzanine’s outdoor terrace which was fabulous.

I guess the absence of a spa or pool?

There is no better hotel for proximity to OSF and downtown Ashland. It is still a charming, vintage hotel. Breakfast was good, better than a typical chain hotel. The staff are outstanding, helpful and friendly. Larks restaurant is one of the better dining options in town. Beds and linens are comfortable.

The hotel could use a polish and update of paint and carpets. The bathroom tub and shower is smaller than standard.

Breakfast was very tasty with many options. Whenever things ran out the staff was attentive to refill the options. Staff at the front desk were always very helpful. The location is unbeatable and we walked everywhere in the town.

My biggest gripe was the comfort of the bed. It was a little firm and unforgiving, but good enough for a few days. The pillows could also be better, but the rest of the room was quaint and functional.

Location is fantastic, right in the middle this wonderful town, yet very quiet- we were there off- season so that probably contributed. We loved the history and style of the hotel , the views, the friendly attentive welcome- we were offered early check in and loved luxuriating in the comfort of our room- my mom wrote letters at the writing desk overlooking the hills. Breakfast was more abundant than expected and served buffet style a lovely, sunny breakfast room. The beds were a dream. We had a lovely “city-break” here!

Breakfast was fantastic. The property was adorable. Parking was convenient. We absolutely loved the nighttime front desk worker, she was the best. The room was excellent - robes, toiletries. towels, cleanliness, TWO luggage stands-- really great. Amenities are awesome. Location and value were great.

Our room was so cold when we got in and even with the "heat" cranked, it never really warmed up. It did, however, get my husband and I to snuggle all night and neither of us woke up with fried nasal passageways. So still a 5 star from us!

Beautiful hotel! Amazing location! Friendly staff. Rooms are very small but that did not bother me. Sink was not cleaned, had stuff around the rim of it. Quiet room, other than when other doors close. Would stay there again.

Sink was not cleaned, mold in grout. Extremely hot when I walked in room and took me awhile to find the thermastat which was hidden behind the TV.

I have always wanted to stay at this hotel but it has always seems unaffordable. We got a great rate through Booking and the hotel did not disappoint! We were able to park (in the free parking lot right behind the hotel!) and walk to all restaurants and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival plays. I would absolutely stay here again, if I can get a good rate!

I can't think of a thing!
