What did I like? Where do I start. From my arrival at the airport Jack had sent me a message about arranging transport, but I had already jumped in a taxi, but it was the fact he was checking my movements made me felt that he cared. The following day, he checked on me at breakfast (I'll come back to that) and was wanting to assist with tours and visits. I did book the city tour with him and it was amazing, by the time the tour cam round (Thursday), I had already walked most of the Old Quarter and surrounding areas (Tuesday and Wednesday), but I had missed some stuff and this covered off the check list. Breakfast was a FEAST, normally I would get a "continental" breakfast, but this was a full on Vietnamese breakfast and you could order either scrambled eggs, omlette's or anything at no extra charge. The staff were polite and keen to help. Jack again was amazing and keen to help with everything. I do recommend arranging airport transfers with him, as it was cheaper than jumping in a taxi. The room was perfect for what I needed, out during the day exploring, then a shower (maybe a nap), then out at night. On that note, the location of the Golden Sails is PERFECT. Right in the heart of the Old Quarter, "drinking alley" which I liked to called it was out of the hotel, turn right, right again and you're there. Go further a field down the streets and alley ways offer so much more. The Street Train is a mere 18 minutes walk away, I highly recommend you do that, best to go on a Sunday from 6pm. So overall, I can't recommend The Golden Sails enough, I plan to go back one day, go further afield with my tours, but I will book with Jack and his hotel again. Thank you Jack.

Nothing, well, the coffee cups could have been bigger but I'm from Australia/New Zealand and we like our coffee, but this is the Vietnamese way. The only "slight" issue I had was the is some construction to the right of the hotel and it goes from Monday to Saturday and disturbed me once or twice. But that will obviously be completed soon, and it's out of Jack's control.

The best thing of the accommodation was the staff. Very attentive and tried to provide a personalized service. Very friendly. The location was quite central and reasonable room sizes. Price seemed reasonable for such a large city in Vietnam to us.

Probably not a 5-star hotel and others felt they were a little misleading because of this. But overall for the price, we felt it was reasonable !

The location was ideal, making it easy to explore the city on foot. The breakfast exceeded my expectations, offering a variety of fresh options that set me up well for the day. The staff were particularly helpful, always ready with local tips and quick to assist with any requests. While the rooms were basic, they were clean and comfortable, providing good value for the price. Overall, a great choice for budget-conscious travelers looking for a convenient and comfortable stay.

Directly next to the hotel there is a construction site which is extremely noisy throughout the day (from the early hours of the morning till night). The hower curtains need to be replaced as they have mould.

The location is excellent. Busy outside but very quiet when you get inside. It is an old building but everything are in good working condition. Make a big difference to our vacation staying in the Golden Sail Hotel, Hanoi.

Perfect location for exploring the bustle of the Old Quarter. Quiet at night, friendly staff, and decent breakfast. Bottled water provided in room. Jack Son helpfully offered to organise a taxi and tours before arrival - I booked two great tours the day before they happened at reception for a reasonable price, and luckily some cool people did the same! Spent my last day in Hanoi and the staff kindly let me use the laundry service and store my bag until evening despite checking out at 12:00. Was warned by staff about some light construction work next door which started around 7:30-8:00. Not an issue if an early riser like the rest of Hanoi! Also, the window in my room faced an internal skylight. Not really an issue but not shown on pictures.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Golden Sail Hotel. It was very nice experience from start to finish. The staff's attentiveness and dedication to personalized service truly set this hotel apart. Manager Bob deserves a special mention for going above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable. The hotel itself was delightful with comfortable rooms. I would highly recommend Golden Sail Hotel to anyone seeking a nice place to stay in Hanoi. Thank you very much

But you have to realize hotel is in the city centre. During the day and during the night there is little bit noisy.

All of their staff were super friendly and will try to accommodate any requests you may have. Special shout out to Ms Rosie, always with a genuine smile and ready to help. Location was perfect, really just steps away from their beautiful sword lake and plenty of eateries nearby (I would not recommend the one directly opposite them). They gladly allowed me to store my luggage with them while I took an overnight Halong Bay cruise. Hotel have SPA AND BAR AVAILABLE. Hotel company operator could arrange all travel arrangement with better price than Travel Agent outside. My room was at the 6th floor with balcony and was still quiet enough even during the weekends when the roads nearby become a busy pedestrian only street. Room and bathroom itself was pretty clean and basic. The feature that made me Golden Sail hotel and spa was their room layout, where the 2 beds are located very far apart :D Don't think you will be able to find that anywhere else!

The hotel has a truly magnificent location, and the moment you step out, you find yourself on the street where the heart of Hanoi beats. But the hotel and rooms are also quiet, calm and comfortable. The hotel was very clean, the breakfast, laundry and other facilities were very good. But above all, the staff was incredibly kind, polite and helpful. They took care of all our needs regarding transportation, guided tours, pharmacies and other things about the city. Among the staff, I would especially like to thank Bob, our entire Hanoi trip was perfect thanks to him. I would like to stay at this hotel again on my next visit to Hanoi.

Golden Sail Hotel is simply amazing in terms of price/quality. The room I stayed in was not huge but its the right size for the price you pay and has everything you need. The location is perfect. Close to restaurants and night life but still very quiet inside the rooms. What is really outstanding about this hotel is the staff. The manager, Mr. Jack Son goes above and beyond to help you during your stay. Before arriving he sent us a message and ever since he helped us with anything we needed. Even after our stay! During check in he showed us the map and provided some tips and guidance to navigate. I didnt get the name of the girl from the reception but she was also amazing! Thank you so much for the great stay!

A great location and really friendly and helpful staff. Great value for money. Was nice to have breakfast included. This is an older building right in the heart of the Old Quarter so not surprisingly the rooms are smaller. Completely fine though given you spend most of your time out exploring this wonderful city. Was clean and the beds comfortable. For the money and the location it was a great stay and would stay again if we were looking to be in Old Quarter.

Absolutely no fault of the staff ( I actually really feel for them) but there is construction happening next door which started at 6am each morning to avoid the heat of the afternoon (understandably). Didn't matter to us as we were up and rearing to explore for the day but if you are wanting to sleep in then maybe just enquire before booking if the construction is still underway. I am sure that many other businesses around the area are also impacted by this or other developments happening in this area. Can't be helped.
