Lovely staff, nice clean room. Good quality breakfast

The pillows were way too soft. Feathers aren’t good for me and they collapsed immediately you lay on them. Some nice firm memory foam pillows would be grest

The facilities are nice. The breakfast offering is good, my partner and I are vegan so the veggie haggis is a nice option. Would be excellent if they had vegan batter for the awesome pancake machine! The reception area and bar with the complimentary water and tourists information is lovely. The rooms are modern and comfortable and the shower / bathroom facilities are great with a lovely selection of cleaning products. The heated mirror is awesome! The location is a short walk to everything especially the castle which is 10mins walk!

The pillows! Might just be a personal choice but they are awful! I had to use both pillows just to get some level of comfort.

It was clean and modern. The breakfast was very good. The staff were very helpful in organising disabled parking for my husband In general the staff were extremely helpful.

I did not like the accessible bathroom. Although my husband is disabled he does not need an accessible bedroom. Presumably we were allocated that because we asked for disabled parking. The walk from the car park to the hotel was difficult for my husband as there is no access from the car park. We would have liked a luggage trolley to take out suitcases to the bedroom.

Very welcoming staff. Check-in was quick and very straightforward. Relaxed atmosphere. Clean and tidy. A wide range of food and drinks. Breakfast was lovely although the sausages were sometimes a little dried up under the heated lamp. Bedroom was nice, clean and tidy. Ensuite bathroom - body wash, shampoo and towels included. Shower was great. Hairdryer was also included in the room. Beds were comfortable. Upon checking out we were able to leave our bags in a safe locked area only accessible by staff whilst we explored more of Edinburgh on our last day. Overall we had a great stay at the Hampton by Hilton Edinburgh West End. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay again hopefully in the near future.

The twin beds were comfortable but creaked every time I turned in the bed. Mattress kept sliding from the base. The air conditioning was a little noisey and kept me awake most of the first night. I'd much rather have a window to open than a sealed one. There was also a building site across the road, not a great view but it didnt really bother myself and my son as we were out most of the day anyway. I personally found the walk into the city and up around the castle a bit of a distance as I have a bad back (had painkillers to hand) but enjoyed the sites, Christmas markets and beautiful shops enroute. (About 20-25 minutes walk). A great range of food for breakfast although the sausages were sometimes a little dried up under the heated lamp.

The breakfast is lovely and the staff is very helpful and friendly in the breakfast area. The bed was comfy, and the room was spacious and very clean. Very good location close to everything on foot. The check-in was efficient and quick, and good service

The water in the shower was lukewarm, two days in a row. We actually got a cold because of it. A bit noisy, we could hear all the noise from the rooms upstairs. When checking out, the receptionist was so rude, we asked her a question about the points for not having the room cleaned every day and she said you have to be a member and put her head down and ignored us, then she said okay is that it? And we just left. Maybe she was having a bad day, but her behaviour really put us off

The breakfast selection was brilliant, there was so many stations so you'd not have to stand and wait about for anything! The hotel was super modern and clean and very nice, the interior was very nice! Theres little booths, different kinds of seating, super nice! The staff were all super attentive! I loved the extra tea, coffee and milk in the reception area. There was a Lebanese restaurant attached to the hotel and although we didn't use it that also looked lovely! I felt really assured that the rooms had a safety feature on the door so no one would be able to get in unless you wanted them to.

The shower tray looked dirty but I think it was just stained maybe, although wasn't going to poke about to find out lol! We were top floor but I could still hear the traffic below. I needed to swap duvet and pillows as they were down and I'm allergic and they could only find 1 pillow that wasn't down, the beds had 2 on, it was disappointing in a place so big but the 1 pillow was a big one at least. It is a about a 20 minute walk to the royal mile so a little bit out the way but I guess that makes it quieter! There was no plug where the kettle was which seemed odd but just moved it onto the desk. I tried to use the iron but there was something sticky on it which was coming off onto my top!

Good location, good value for money. Car parking on site very useful. Ease of check-in / check-out without waiting or delay. Room was good size and bed comfortable.

Room temperature was hard to regulate, room was generally too hot (and this was mid-winter!). Not possible to open a window for natural ventilation. Breakfast was ok, but too little produce for the capacity of restaurant - most items had run out or we had to wait for fresh replacements, coffee machine was not functioning, very little choice of fresh fruits/yoghurt etc. This is the only major criticism of the hotel and should really be improved for a better overall experience.

Location was outside the central part of Edinburgh but nice area and only 20 minutes walk . Plenty of places to eat nearby with a supermarket across the road. Great transport links on your doorstep taking you wherever you want to go . Easy access to the main railway station by public transport within 15 minutes and walk within 30 . Complimentary breakfast each morning plentiful and tasty . Great place to stay .

If you don’t like walking it’s a long way from the centre but suited us fine and much quieter than the centre . Otherwise great place to stay .

Great breakfast, super friendly staff, the rooms where very clean. it looks like the hotel has been freshly renovated, the location is about a 15 - 25 minute walk from the royal mile, and about a 10 minute walk from the Haymarket tram stop.

We had the Queen room with sofa bed for 2 adults and 1 child (15 years old). The only negative comment I have is that the sofa bed wasn't comfortable, other than that everything was great.
