Staff were very friendly and helpful, room was clean and warm, good size.

Breakfast - no cereal on offer, a set menu which meant you couldn't chose the amount you wanted, no side plates to spread the toast, bread was not the best quality, hot breakfast brought to the table whilst still eating fruit and yoghurt. Cups and saucers would be better than the cracked mug. Tables on the first morning were not cleaned up promptly and we had to wait for the table to be cleaned.

Beautiful room and hotel and view of Edinburgh castle. We booked the one spa for £35 each which was amazing also amazing.

I preordered and paid for gifts/decor for the room as a surprise which weren’t there initially but quickly & easily rectified. Just a bit awkward to query in front of the person you’re surprising!

The front desk staff were lovely and couldn’t have been more welcoming.

The spa staff are pretty rude and don’t help you out or explain where anything is. You are charged too use the spa even though we were staying at hotel. It was so busy we didn’t get a chance too use any of the rooms properly and pool was overcrowded. So disappointed after paying 70 pounds and we left after 20 minutes.

Having paid almost £600 for our room for the night, I don't think this is good value for money. There are other hotels in edinburgh just as nice for far cheaper.

The Room was superb - quiet and well appointed - a bit bigger would have been nice but not essential - a lovely room, The location is brilliant - very central within very easy walking distance to all the sights that Edinburgh has to offer. The concierge and reception staff were absolutely great being both knowledgeable and personable The breakfast was lovely quality food served hot and quickly - very pleased

The only small problem encountered was that coffee machine did not work at breakfast and despite being told it was being sorted - it was not. We (ourselves and another couple) waited for 10 minutes and than spoke to an excellent waitress who very quickly brought us a cafetiere of coffee. When we left the breakfast room maybe 20 minute later, the coffee machine was still not fixed. But as I said - a very small problem rectified by a thoughtful waitress

The rooms are very spacious and well-equipped with everything you might need, making the stay comfortable. However, our room faced the interior side, so the view wasn't great. The service is excellent, and the staff is attentive. Breakfast was a bit disappointing—while it includes one à la carte item and an unlimited buffet, the selection lacked freshness, particularly the fruits and bakery items. The hotel facilities, like the spa and sauna, seem great, but unfortunately, didn’t have the time to explore them. The location is very convenient, just a 15-20 minute walk to the main attractions and Princes Street.

That said, it felt a bit pricey during our stay, especially considering the slightly commercial atmosphere and lack of a personal touch. Overall, it’s a good choice if you're seeking convenience and space, but it may not offer the best value for money

Beautiful hotel, comfortable room, friendly, helpful and accommodating staff

Booked a meal in the brasserie for ourselves and family. The room was very cold had to go back up to the room for extra jumpers. The restaurant was not busy at the time and although restaurant staff were lovely the service was poor. Had to get up and find someone to ask for desert menu after asking the first time at the table, same with wine menu. Desserts were served and did not come with the cream we had ordered but no staff around so we ate our desserts without before they became cold. Cream brought to the table after we had eaten with an apology as it had been forgotten. Put a bit of a dampener on the special meal we had booked for family.

The hotel is very clean , well maintained and the location was perfect for us. It’s just a short walk to the main high street with loads of local attractions. The Sheratons restaurant puts on a lovely breakfast selection ( the amount of granola was very sparse and could be improved) the evening meal we had was really lovely but too expensive to eat there every night. There are loads of great places to eat just a short walk away.

The toilet cubicle was in the bathroom but didn’t have a door on it, so not private. The bathroom also had two access points, one from the bedroom and one from “hallway” which I thought was odd - and increased the sense of no privacy.

Location was close to perfect. Very conveniently situated to downtown, yet not overrun by other tourists. Nice rooms, with good bathrooms. Good breakfast. Spectacular pool / spa (but see below)

One important reason why we booked this hotel was the pool. Unfortunately, we had not read the fine print, and upon arrival, we realized that our 11-year old would be confined to two hours at the pool per day, and no spa access at all. Furthermore, the pool hours for children were at a time where it would seriously interfere with visiting plans.

Situated right in the heart of the city, you're just a short walk from Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, and other major attractions. Whether you’re here for sightseeing or business, it’s an ideal spot to base yourself. Dining at the hotel was fantastic as well. The range of options, from casual meals to fine dining, was exceptional, and the quality of food was outstanding. In short, the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa Edinburgh offers an experience that combines luxury, comfort, and unparalleled service. We left feeling completely refreshed and already planning our next visit. Highly recommend!
