Good location, clean room and bathroom. Staff were friendly

I had several emails about on line check in and upgrading etc before my stay. The on line check in links did not work, I also was offered an e upgrade to add breakfast - that did not work either. Staff at reception were perfectly nice but not friendly really and also no apology for the fact my online check in didn't work and/or the breakfast wasn't added. Breakfast was ok - lot of choice. They didnt have scrambled eggs as advertised so had to ask for these separately which took ages

The location was great. Walking distance to the castle and the Mile and Haymarket station.

Water pressure in the shower was low. Initially, one of our bed smelled of urine. When we informed the reception, it was promptly handled.

Great location. The hotel is within walking distance to Edinburgh Castle and there are lots of lovely restaurant around the hotel area as well. The hotel staff are very nice. We had a clean and decent size room with tea/coffee maker. They also have a proper coffee machine and hotel housekeeping were so nice to give us coffee capsule when we asked for some as we used all of the ones provided. We also enjoyed their breakfast buffet.

We were in room 336 and we can hear a sliding door opening and closing. This sound starts at around 8am and sometimes we can hear it in the afternoon as well. We got used to it in the end BUT would've been nice if we didnt hear it at all. The tiles in the bathroom and the paint on the bathroom door could do with an upgrade.

The staff are super friendly. If you needed anything they were quick to respond. Comfy beds and good size rooms. Good location and tram station within a few minutes which is direct to the airport.

Restaurant is silly expensive. 2 x hotdogs, 2 x cokes, a very average cheesecake and ice cream was £49. Our room had a terrible smell which I did make mention to reception. They did seem to sort it but it was back the next day. Our room also had patches of touch up paint on doors which was mismatched and looked like they needed to do a quick job.

Location was good, a bit of a hike to city center but good neighborhood nonetheless.

Bath tubs are extremely high and offer little to no support to get out. After the first night I asked for an accessible room, which staff provided immediately, problem solved. Unfortunately I lost the seating space feature I had looked forward to in my original booking ( a sofa and plenty of walking space). Although I stayed a week I did not ask for a price adjustment but feel that I got less than I paid for. If management could do something about this I would be most thankful.

We actually booked another place but it was for the wrong date which is why we had to cancel that one and book another accomodation. We found this hotel by coincedence but wouldn’t want to have it any differently. We had a super comfortable stay even when it was just for one night! Daniel from the reception was super kind, and was able to upgrade us to a 3 person room with 3 beds instead of a double bed with a sleeping sofa. Would 100% stay here again in the future! Everything was great!!

The room was great, clean and had all the usual requirements. The mattresses were wonderful, probably the best sleep's we've had in a hotel or B/B. Good to have a safe, fridge and coffee machine in the room. It was classed as a basic twin room so this was definitely a step up. We did use room service one night for a snack and it was very tasty.

We don't like air conditioning and despite turning it off before sleeping it always turned back on at some point during the night and then felt airless. Great to have a coffee machine but no coffee pods were with the drink supplies and we were there for 4 days. As we ate out for our meals it wasn't a problem for us but if provided should be serviced.

There were 3 of us staying in the hotel (2 adults, 1 child) and all 3 beds were made up for us when we arrived - this was helpful as we didn't have to do it ourselves/have to wait for it to be done. There were also complimentary drinks and snacks in the room for our arrival, which was a very nice touch! The room was very spacious and had lots of useful facilities, and there was also a delightful fragrance in the reception area downstairs that could be smelt every time you walked through it.

Not a complaint but maybe if the hotel advertised more of the attractions to do in and around Edinburgh, and to know if it is something we can book through them?

Central location to transport i.e, buses, train, tram and nearby eateries. Property was clean, room was big and nice dining room and bar. Free coffee at the dining room. It was lovely to receive a welcome pack consisting of a letter, postcard, fridge magnet and biscuit and chocolate.

Bath in the bathroom and half shower screen. Not safe for elder people to get in and out to have a shower. I’d rather they have a shower and not step into a high bath tub. The design of where the fridge is located is unsafe when you stand up you hit your head on the corner of the above cupboard. These are safety issues.

Staff were very welcoming & friendly. Lifts required a room key for them to be called to the main lobby, instead of a button, which added a nice bit of extra security. The room offered a lot of storage options, including hidden draws underneath the TV console & a nicely hidden fridge, which was a very nice surprise! The king size bed was fantastic to just starfish on - with a comfortable but firm mattress that led to a great night's sleep! There was also a lot of natural light during the day thanks to the large window in the room. Room had controllable air conditioning/heating.

The main lobby, at the lifts, did smell like a public toilet that had just been cleaned - a rather peculiar smell. I did find quite a few cobwebs in my room that looked like they had been there for a while, and the air vents at the windows were caked in grimey dust. The seat at the desk did have a white stain on the back, which was rather unfortunate. The shower in the bath was anxiety-inducing as the tub curves and there is little to no grip on the bottom of the tub, combined with the lack of handle rails - it was an unstable shower experience. Breakfast was rather middle of the road - I was kind of expecting a bit more variety for a cooked breakfast as there was no haggis or black pudding & the fried eggs tasted rather plastic-y. I've had a better breakfast at a lesser-star hotel chain.
