Nice and cosy little houses in beautiful scenery, close to the main road but far enough to be silent and dark which is great to watch the aurora borealis. Rooms are nice and spacious with some tea and coffee, and there is a free to use hot tub in the garden under the sky - you can't imagine how wonderful is to watch the aurora from the tub. Staff is really friendly: they asked for our phone number so they could alert us in case nordic light shows up and even knocked on every door for nobody to miss it. The restaurant has a giant window so we could eat our breakfast looking at the sunrise, it was wonderful. This place was cheaper than the guesthouse we stayed in but this hotel was definitely more luxoriuos. Would definitely come back.

There is a sauna next to the hot tub but it was out of service. Breakfast is rich but was not so delicious, the quality of the coffee was really low.

It was a very snowy and windy day, but despite the harsh weather, our host was incredibly welcoming. Even the following day, when the conditions remained just as bad, she was kind enough to offer us a late check-out at no extra charge. She didn’t rush us to leave, which made our stay even more comfortable and stress-free. To make our experience even better, they provided us with a free breakfast, which was absolutely amazing. The food was fresh, delicious, and exactly what we needed to start the day. It was a thoughtful touch that made us feel even more at home. The place itself was cozy and inviting, with a warm and homely atmosphere. One of the highlights was the game/chill room, which had a wide variety of games, making it the perfect spot to relax and unwind. Whether it was board games, card games, or other entertainment options, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Overall, it was a truly wonderful and memorable stay, made even better by the thoughtful and accommodating host. We would definitely love to return!

Lovely location, sandwiched between the mountains and a river. So beautiful. Loved our cabin. Beautifully decorated and arranged. Great bathroom and shower. Comfy bed and sofa (I slept on the sofa and it was very comfortable!) We got to see the Northern light too. They came out really quickly to change the fire alarm battery which was beeping. So was

The dinner and breakfast cod be improved a bit. Overall it was good but comparing to our other hotels in Iceland so far it could have been a tiny bit better but this is only me being picky!

This place is a little cabin paradise. I stayed in a newer cabin and it was perfect. Everything is new and clean and well-sized. The food for breakfast and dinner was great. I appreciated that they had the opportunity to get a soup&salad buffet instead of a big meal.

Only thing that I wished you could have done was turn the lights off outside in order to see the northern lights better. I understand they probably leave them on for safety!

Lovely place; gorgeous grounds. Cute cottages. Would definitely stay there again. We enjoyed walking around the beautiful property. The only negative was the food. Breakfast was fine, nothing great. Dinner was overly expensive for what it was, way too salty, and not good. There are 4 dinner options. They ran out of the vegetarian option, which was a problem for one in our group. They offered the salad and soup bar as a substitute when they easily could’ve made one of the other options into a vegetarian main. It’s a bit of a drive to eat dinner elsewhere but we would consider it if we stayed again. Otherwise, it’s a beautiful place to stay.

This was our first stop on our Ring Road trip. We had a 2 bedroom free standing villa which looked west and had the river in front. There was a good amount of space and good facilities. The upstairs bedroom was lovely with good views of the night sky through the skylight. There was a good size bedroom downstairs and a small but functional bathroom. Beds and bedding were very comfortable. There is good space between the villas so there is reasonable privacy. You can park your car about 15m away. The main building houses the restaurant which has a simple menu but food is good quality. Breakfast was good. There is a sitting room upstairs for guests in the hotel rooms. We stayed here because we wanted to be remote from town lights so we could observe the Northern Lights - we got lucky and saw them - very good location to see them. Staff were very friendly.

Not much - the stairs to the upstairs bedroom are a bit steep so you need to be careful.

Lovely hotel in the middle of nowhere. It has a sauna, plunge and a hot tub. Sadly sauna took a bit of time to heat up when I wanted to use it and it barely got up to 80 degrees so I missed out. The hotel offers dinner, which is a godsend in this remote place. I had a lamb curry and it was delicious. The views are absolutely stunning. It should be a great place for spotting northern lights, they even have an Aurora manager that gives guests a call when there is a sighting. I got a call around 10:30pm, unfortunately the hotel is very well lit on the outside which is fabulous on normal occasion but it is a little too much when trying to search for Aurora in the sky. I tried walking further away but it was difficult to see properly. Breakfast was lovely, staff was very friendly and helpful, rooms were comfortable.

Sauna wasn't hot enough and it took a while to heat up so I ended up missing out. It was difficult to see the northern lights in the night sky because of the very well lit outdoor areas of the hotel.

Great location. Very isolated and quiet. Staff really friendly and lovely family feel. Food was really good. Really pretty buildings. Well located for exploring the Hella region and only 30 mins from Reynisfara beach.

There were very bright lights on all night outside the bedrooms meaning that anyone sleeping in a bed next to the window was disturbed by them especially as the curtains are not blackout and barely cover the windows. It also made looking at the stars and searching for the Northern lights difficult as the lights were distracting. The door handle on our room was faulty and made it difficult to open the door. This meant that we did not lock our room at night as we were worried about opening the door if we had to get out quickly for any reason.

Staff were very friendly and made an effort to make our stay great. We arrived late on our check-in day after the kitchen was closed, but they offered us some bread, cheese, and soup if we were hungry. After a long day of traveling and most restaurants already being closed, we decided to take them up on their offer. We spoke to the main manager and he offered us our choice of what was already on the menu, while serving us in the upstairs lounge. We ordered four entrees and two soups, which were delicious and filled up our empty stomachs. We definitely appreciate their accommodating us as we don't know what we would have done; it made our night even better. The morning was a pleasant surprise as we saw the property in the daylight and the views were amazing, with a river view and icelandic horses near the cottages. We were even greeted with a rainbow as we made our way back to the cottage from a tasty breakfast buffet.

The modern facilities were once a farm, but the owners have done a marvelous job turning it into a fantastic hotel in the country. It is a bit out of they way but that means the nights are fantastic. I was able to admire the stars and the aurora. It was cold outside but fantastically cozy inside. The restaurant also was above what I expected. (Iceland has an amazing food scene!). The staff is friendly and very helpful. After a day of driving and hiking it was a wonderful place to stay the night.

It is as tricky for me to learn how to use the new door lock, but that’s about it. It was busier than I expected as they had a tour group staying.
