Loved the hotel, the staff were excellent, the food was good, we had several meals including breakfast. The leisure facilities excellent - nice pool, jacuzzi & sauna. Lovely garden & spacious parking. The guest rooms are spacious, with french-doors to an outdoor patio/balcony. If we are in the Athenry area again, we will stay At Raheen Woods Hotel. Overall, very well run & comfortable.

The lift was out of order the whole time we were there. (I'm only mentioning this, as some people would find this difficult). Not us, though - As we always use the stairs, to keep fit! As regards, my preference request for a bath, I didn't query this when we were allocated a room - So it was my own fault!!

This hotel is very clean, well kept and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. There were welcome packs for the kids on arrival and they signed up straight away for kids club which was on every evening from 6pm-8pm. The breakfast options were lovely, continental & cooked breakfast buffets. The kids also availed of the 'Breakfast train' each morning which saw them picked up from the room at 8am and taken down for breakfast for an hour. The staff working with the kids in the mornings and evenings were so kind and caring. It was their highlight. Great range of options in the bar for lunch/dinner with generous portions. We didn't have one bad meal. Bewleys coffee and hot chocolates also available at the hotel for takeaway or dine in. Had a lovely spa treatment at the spa. Kids loved the pool. Kardio kids wasn't open while we we were there (early midweek) but that would have been another option from Wednesday onwards. Underground parking available too. We would definitely return.

The staff were all very young but what stood out for me was their manner, so polite, efficient, constantly working and interested in the customers needs. Whoever is their manager is doing a fantastic job and obviously teaching and treating every individual with respect and they are returning this. The hotel was very relaxing, modern but cosy, food was excellent, bedrooms spacious and so clean. This is a lovely place to stay and swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room excellent

I have only one thing to say and that is could they put signs on the doors in the dressing rooms to show where the pool entrance is, and the exit door is, all doors in the place are white and it was like going in a maze trying each one to see where it lead to :)

The hotel was very well equipped and decorated. Travelling with 2 kids, we were offered a family room with 2 double beds one having a bunk bed, it was perfect! Very spacious and clean too. The car park was large enough with an additional underground car park (limited to 2m height). The breakfast was brilliant, with lots of choice. We enjoyed spending time in he swimming pool to unwind. We didn't go to Kardiokidz as it had an additional cost of 5 euros per kids. Very family friendly hotel: the kids were offered an icecream on arrival and a map with crayons to do the fairy trail in the hotel Park. We went to Galway city by car in the evening, it was 25min long.

The main elevator wasn't working which meant we had to take the stairs (which wasn't much trouble, beautiful stairs btw). It's a shame we had to pay 5euros more per kid to get to the Kardiokids aera.

Hotel was very comfortable. Nice selection of pillows on the beds. I personally like a plump pillow. We went for Easter break and they had brilliant extras for the kids. My girls were given a lovely little colouring pack on arrival along with an easter egg in their room. There was a kids club every evening from 6pm-8pm with different activities each evening. The hotel also provided a breakfast club every morning too from 8am - 9am which was a lovely bonus. Very nice pool and gym. Pool is heated. Swimming costume dryer in the changing rooms which was a great addition. No having to hang /dry togs in the bathroom. There is a soft play area attached to the hotel which we availed off as it rained for our entire stay. We did however have some confusion over the price and deals had with the hotel but was rectified very easily. The reception staff were lovely, extremely kind and helpful. We will definitely return to this hotel.

The only downside to this stay was that the service in the bar area was a bit hit and miss. The long term staff were great and very prompt but we did have a few younger waiting staff which were a bit forgetful which made for hungry and thirsty kids at times. One of our orders took 45 minutes but was clearly forgotten about it. All in all, I put this down to a younger waiting staff with perhaps less experience, which will come with time. The food was lovely but expensive.

Dinner in the restaurant was superb. Room was comfortable and breakfast was ok but selection was limited after 9.30am. We used the pool most days. Kids area a nice hotel addition. Great value for money. Kids activities was a nice touch.

Hotel lobby was a little chilly at times so either relaxed in restaurant or room. When we used the pool, there was a man working making such a noise - with the door wide open and the freezing air coming in, we didn't stay long and soon retreated to the warmth of the jacuzzi and sauna. Coffee wasn't great so paid extra for cappucinos. Kids area needs more attention with cleanliness.

It is a great hotel for school aged kids! It has a pool & soft play area (which you pay extra for daily). My kids were given a welcome pack and a tub of ice cream at check in. We travelled during school midterm and they had kids activities from 6 to 8pm every evening so the kids got to play with other kids while we relaxed in peace! There was also a 'breakfast train' at 8am in the morning, where the kids were picked up from the room and brought down to breakfast for an hour! There is also a little fairy, with lovely lights to see at night. Overall a great experience with good facilities, food, board games to play and a very relaxed feel. Would definitely recommend!

Overall I can't complain about our experience. The only feedback I would give is the sink in the bathroom was way too high. my kids could not reach the tap or the soap so had to be lifted everytime or stood on the bin! Maybe offer a step in rooms where there are young kids!

Very family oriented. Staff were super friendly, particularly at the reception and bar. Kids got a little goody bag and ice-cream on arrival. Breakfast was a great start to the day. Food in the bar was good quality, attested to by the amount of non hotel guests stopping in. Hotel in general was very clean as were the rooms. Walking distance to Athenry and a short to Galway.

Pool area was a bit wild at times, some areas of the hotel were cold, uncomfortable in a T-shirt (I'm guessing due to the crazy energy prices at the moment, so easy to enough forgive 😀).

From the moment we arrived the staff could not be any nicer towards us, all staff members greeted us were so polite could not do enough for us and what we loved was they made it very comfortable for the children they offered free ice cream to the kids which was a bonus!! This hotel is absolutely spotless excellently layed out signage everywhere so we knew exactly where we were going..we can not fault anything with this hotel very central. Would highly recommend for anyone needing a nice break away and especially for families as they have a kids area etc!

Warm welcome including icecream for the children. Room was spacious and comfortable. Water pressure in the shower was amazing. Food was fantastic and staff were helpful and friendly. I would definitely stay again. The main hotel is fantastic and a lovely relaxing atmosphere.

Pool area needs a bit of tlc a lot of rust and smell of damp. More attention to cleaning a lot of hair, plasters around kids pool area staff were cleaning but seemed to miss around kids pool. Play centre 3 staff all on their phones and talking behind the counter while tables and floors needed to be cleaned. Staff in the play centre asked all children if they wanted face paint then said it was only for children at the party leaving a child upset, would have taken no effort to do one more face. Neither of these things would put me off staying again.
