Overall, we had an amazing time at this beautiful and centrally located hotel that is just steps from the Royal Mile. We got a complimentary upgrade to a suite and the room was absolutely lovely. Staff were friendly, everything was very easy.

Small lobby (just because the building is old and wasn't originally designed to be a hotel), and a lackluster bar meant that it wasn't very tempting to hang out at the hotel outside of the room. The weather was beautiful but I can imaging if it were rainy we would have liked a cozy hotel bar to sit in - the one in the hotel was very dead, very expensive, and the bartended actually went somewhere else to make our drinks (I assume the restaurant).

What wasn’t to like, all of the facilities were immaculate. The location is perfect close enough to be a part of the Galway experience, but still with enough privacy. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and one of the best nights sleep on our holiday was had here. The staff were all amazing, extremely friendly and made our stay seamless. The were incredibly accommodating with our very early check out departure they ensured car was ready and kind enough to supply coffee and some small snacks for breakfast. It was an absolute pleasure and we hope to return to stay again in the future.

The location is excellent! I also really appreciated the discount for parking. I like that they had both shampoo and conditioner (small detail) and grooming kits in case you forgot anything. The bed was mostly comfortable. The breakfast was decent.

I really didn't like that there is a coffee machine at breakfast but we were not offered to order a proper coffee. We were given bad, bitter filter coffee where we both wanted a double espresso. I also really dislike when hotels use powdered eggs at breakfast instead of fresh eggs. I know it is cheaper but it makes all the difference for the guest instead of having rubbery eggs. There's also a terrible smell near the bathrooms for all guests on the first floor. This was on the way to our room so it drifted down the hallway. I assume it's from the plumbing which probably cannot be helped but it doesn't make for a pleasant experience. Finally, while I appreciate the discounted parking, please don't advertise that you offer parking when you don't actually offer parking.

Deco friendly welcome and good service in the oyster bar

Overall liked and would come back. Just some small areas that did not meet my expectation but things can not always be perfect Got missed for ordered breakfast and had to go find someone to order. Ordered the avocado on toast was not good needs to be made simpler i.e no salad or salad on side, fresh avocado without to much mixed with it avoid soggy bread. Maybe one sun dried tomatoes or a fresh one. Other breakfast bits i tries were lovely. Better communication for the parking. never got the voucher for reduction on booking out tho mentioned on booking in. needed more toilet roll in room

Honestly a very nice stay. Think we paid €179 for one night, but we were upgraded for free to a deluxe room that had a view of the Christmas markets (Eyre square). The location is EVERYTHING! Literally would stay here again for that alone. Right next to Christmas markets, town centre, and train station. Breakfast was nice, one of the receptionists was very nice, light brown hair and glasses, forget her name but she was lovely. Rest were fine, nothing exceptional but just standard. And the young couple from breakfast (they came to our bar in Killarney a few days later) were lovely too. Room looked lovely. Also, appreciate the plate with treats they put in for our anniversary. Was very special. All in all a nice stay!

Smell of fresh paint made me wanna gag, not sure it was best to paint it right before Christmas. Could’ve waited till after and closed that section for the night since January tends to be quiet anyway. Also, walls were very thin, probably because it’s an old hotel, but I could hear creaks from upstairs and could hear the man snoring in the room next to us. Bar menu is only average food wise, but didn’t affect us much as we ate out mostly. Had lunch and breakfast following day, lunch was ok, breakfast was quite nice!

The Hardiman is in a great location on Eyre Square, just around the corner from the train station. It is an easy walk to the main shopping streets. Breakfast was excellent. The photo of the room I booked was not the room I was given which was disappointing but Thomas was wonderful and was able to upgrade us to a beautiful room which made our stay so much nicer. There are beautiful sitting rooms in this hotel for guests and the restaurant has excellent chefs. We were even entertained by an accomplished pianist/guest playing the baby grand piano! All the staff at this hotel are lovely and welcoming!

Location and staff are wonderful. We ad a Suite and the views were lovely over Eyre Square the room was very well appointed. Breakfast was good and the hotel was super clean

No bar service after midnight and breakfast was very busy meaning the staff were a little overwhelmed but super helpful. Some items were missing and there were queues. A good sign to have a busy hotel in January and the points noted didn’t impact our stay

Location was perfect. Easy access to major sites, train station, restaurants, etc. Dropped car rental right across the street and a bonus on our rainy day departure: the hotel has a :secret door" that permits direct access directly into the train station. We were going to hire a taxi for the short ride around the block as we had a lot of luggage. On a hunch I Googled "Hardiman Hotel back door to Galway train station." And by magic the information came up. Just ask management for access if you need it.

We booked a standard room well in advance of our stay. The room we were given upon arrival was what I would describe as "substandard" and looked very lttle like what I saw on Booking.com (very small, stuffy and hot, no a/c or ventillation ). After speaking to the reception staff, we were given a far superior room with an in-room thermostat to control ventilation and temperature. On the whole, the staff were extremely attentive, cordial, etc and after the room switch our stay was excellent.

Breakfast was excellent. It catered for every taste. Staff were in constant attendance.

The metal teapot had in insecure lid and spilled tea when pouring. I had to get another teapot. The staff were most helpful in this. We were frequently asked if everything was satisfactory, it was, but every staff member was asking. I counted 7 times asked at breakfast . Good to see this, but perhaps if this task was allocated to 1 or 2 staff members, it wouldn't be so irritating.

Breakfast was great! one of the best we’ve seen included in the room fee - full buffet or you could order from a menu - servers were excellent too!

After overnight travel couldn’t check in until afternoon - should be a way to have an option for maybe a fee to have early check in - staff did try and accommodate our request and we were able to check in around 1 pm
