Loved our stay at Imperial Hotel Galway, right on Eyre square and central to everything Galway has to offer. Easy stumble home from some of the best pubs we've been to in the world. The room was huge, lots of room for just the two of us and a king bed. Absolutely recommend including breakfast to your booking, very well looked after and fed every morning. If driving, parking is a 5min walk away, the hotel has a good deal with Q-park Hynes Yard at 10 euro a day which saved us a lot of money, just ask the staff about it. If we're ever back visiting Galway, we will stay here again.

What didn't I like is more to the point and there was nothing I did not like. I picked your hotel at random for my birthday stay in Galway whereas I am usually with family at an Airbnb. I was thrilled from the moment I arrived. The welcoming Check-in was a breeze. Room 202 overlooks Eyre Square and the setting up of the Christmas Market. Fifteen minutes later ordering a White Russian from Rachael in the bar for my birthday. Happy Days. Rachael is endearing and charming to say the least. I relaxed listening to her wealth of knowledge on Galway especially as regards to places to eat. She was busy training a new member of staff but still took the time to chat. I was truly appreciative of her attention to detail. She taught Fabritzio how to make a White Russian and he mastered it by the time I ordered my second. I enjoyed every encounter with your team and was beyond happy with my stay. From here on in I choose the Imperial Hotel when I am in Galway. I will be returning 16th December. Highly recommended to my friends thank you.

Nothing. Even when I was a little too warm in the room that was fixed at the click of a button

The staff were easy to work with and very kind. They offered to hold our bags while we parked and walked back. The bed was comfortable and the housekeeping left us a bag of extra towels since we left a "do not disturb" tag on the door. The hotel overall was very nice, though a big part of the cost is for the location. It was nice to be able to walk to our tour meetup, though next time I'd prefer to stay further out away from the city.

Parking was a few blocks aways. It's nice that the hotel comps some of the cost. Breakfast wasn't included and cost $15/person. Not sure it was worth the price, but it was good for a quick breakfast.

The bedrooms were of a very good size, with lovely large beds. The decor was dated, but it was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The staff were welcoming and accommodating. We booked two rooms, one of which was available to check into super early (12.30, which great). The location is perfect if looking to stay around Eyre Square as it is facing out to it. We stayed on a Sunday night and got a good room rate, which was cheaper than others that were outside of the city centre. Comfortable, fairly basic, fantastic location, friendly staff. Give it a try!

I would like to stay again but the prices for Friday and Saturday night stays are more expensive than some of their competitors. Location, location, location, I guess.

The hotel responded very quickly to any requests or questions that I had. I requested a 'quiet' room just before we arrived and it was sorted out for us. The staff were welcoming and professional throughout. Our room was a triple (we were 2) and it was very spacious; the bathroom was modern and everything worked. Particularly liked the squeezy soap dispensers - so much easier than trying to use the push down ones. We knew we had not paid for the buffet breakfast to be included but felt that at the price we paid it should have been. We both had good bar meals on our first night there. Very close to the station and to shopping, bars etc. The lift was working!

The lighting in the bedroom was very dim. Our window didn't let in much light and its outlook was the backs of buildings. The curtain was off its track throughout our stay. But we did enjoy our stay at the Imperial.

Myself and my friend stayed for 3 nights over new year and we couldn’t fault the hotel. It was the perfect location to all shops and bars. The room was big and the bathroom was modern. Clean towels and toilet roll given daily even when we had the do not disturb sign up we got a bag of fresh stuff left at our door. Staff were friendly and for being in such a busy area there was no noise issues. I would 100% visit this hotel again and recommend to anyone coming to Galway for a short stay.

There was no issues at all

Great location, lovely helpful staff, my room was in a quiet location. The bed was comfortable with a variety of pillows (all with pillow protectors, which I am fussy about.) The housekeeping staff were exemplary: nothing was too much trouble (so often they don’t get the credit they deserve!) The front desk staff also get a big tick for printing off my boarding pass which turned out to be tricky…no mentioning of airline names….all these little things add up to a memorable stay in my books! 😇

Nothing.

When I realised the room I'd booked didn't have air conditioning the hotel offered me another room which did. That room was spacious & had good storage space too. I was also offered a free breakfast the next morning as an apology. The chef prepared mushrooms separately for me due to the others being cooked with meat, so request this if it's your preference. The room had a bath with a shower overhead. The TV included streaming apps such as Netflix & Prime. When I checked out, the hotel stored my larger luggage for me behind reception until I was travelling again later that day. While the lift was being fixed the rooms were accessed by stairs only, but there were only 36 stairs to the 2nd floor with a lounge room half way. Staff offered to help with luggage if needed.

The shower head above the bath looked very old and crusty & only released water from the small centre of it, no matter how much I tried to adjust this. That made washing long hair more difficult & the shower less refreshing. Luckily the bath had a modern hand held hose which helped. When I was checking out I was met with an unfriendly attitude from one particular male staff member, which puzzled me as I had not created any issues that I was aware of. I suspected they considered me a trouble maker for expecting my room to have air conditioning on a hot day. Luckily when I came back later to collect my luggage I was met by a friendly staff member.

Rachel and Flip and the gals in the bar made our stay very comfortable and memorable, providing us with everything we needed for our room and good recommendations ! The location is excellent, an easy walk to lovely shops, good pubs and food, and is directly across from Eyre Square which is a beautiful park surrounded by all the bus stops and very old establishments. We took the bus up the coast to Salt Hill for an evening of "Trad on the Prom" which was a fabulous intimate show of live music and world champion dancers. Highly recommend the bus and the show! The buskers and locals were the best part of Galway! Diane at the Flying Cloud in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada

The lift was under repair so it was a 57 stairs hike plus walking on each floor to get to our 3rd floor room! The staff did bring our heavy bags up & down for us though : )

A good breakfast even though a bit laborious as you had to choose every bit from a rather difficult menu. Good pub with fresh Guinnes served etc. for worn out travellers ;=)

Be aware that one is not allowed to even stop for unloading the luggage in front of the hotel, minibuses only for 10 min. I received a parking ticket 40e for staying in the front of the hotel for 15 min or so before taking my rental car to the parking house. And when nobody gave me the actual ticket at time, I only got to know about this at home in Finland 1 month later on by 2 letters. And the final ticket was raised to 60e as I did not pay it right away. I have been in many hotels but this was a bad surprise...
