The enviroment is ABSOLUTLY BEAUTIFULL, the location is fantastic, very charming decorated, restaurant, the bar , the lounge ,the entrance absolutly FANTASTIC!!! What can i say about the food, we had dinner and breakfast, the best meal ever for me!! Not just tasty but also how it was exposed....mammma mia... very nice the room with old foto - museum, where there were old foto with nice stories. I liked it very very much !!
Althout the room had a nice clean new bathroom and the bed was very comfortable and clean, the carpet in the room was very old (and I think stained) also the furniture in the room very old. Otherwise everything perfect! Just need to update a little bit the room and will be PERFECT!

What a superb hotel and stunning location. The hotel is very cosy, with a authentic Norwegion interior and fantastic view from our hotelroom. Beautiful rooms, restaurant and the bar was so homely with sofa’s, armchairs and a library. We felt like distinguished travellers from early 20th century. It even made us leave our mobile phones in the hotelroom. The lady at the reception was very friendly and we had a nice chat with her. She completed the homely feel! We regretted staying for just one night and will absolutely stay here again in the near future. We travel a lot but this was the most cosy hotel we have ever stayed in!

The hotel is located just off the road in a quiet location surrounded by mountains. The hotel reminded us of a cozy ski lodge. The common areas were all very well presented, cozy and very comfortable. The room was comfortable but not big, bathroom was modern but again not big. Good shower. Comfortable beds. Dinner was a 3 course set menu as we were still in low season and there were only a few guests. Breakfast was extensive with plenty of choice both hot and cold. Added bonus, there was greaseproof paper provided so you could make sandwiches for a packed lunch!
Nothing to be honest.

Grotli Hotel is a very special, beautiful, charming place where traditions and history meet a gorgeous nature and a warm hospitality. The world outside the windows is breathtaking, the world inside the walls is peaceful and convivial. We spent here 4 nights and had a splendid stay. We enjoyed the superbe bar/living room with the fireplace, the great breakfasts and diners. The staff are super friendly and take very good care of the guests, they pay attention to every detail: the candles are lit all over the house, the tables in the restaurant are served quickly and professionally, the food is not only delicious but also very nicely presented. During the day simply but very good meals are served in the cafeteria which is open for everyone, not only for the hotel guests. The magnificent scenic road 258 to Videseter starts by the door and the location of the hotel is perfect to discover this splendid region of Norway.

Countryside hotel with a warm, cozy style, with a lot of wooden construction (primarily in the "historic" Central Part of the hotel. Room was relatively simple, but with a good bed and modernized bathroom. Single room relatively compact, but there are other bigger rooms as well. Decent breakfast. Possibility to have a set-menu for dinner (the hotel is "on the middle of nowhere, so no other options in the immediate vicinity). The dinner was really good quality (the beer too;-)). Very nice and comfortable bar with an open fireplace to spend the evening. Nice staff. Nice mountainside all around. Parking at the hotel (free), and even chargers for electric cars.
Nothing to complain about. There wasn't a TV in the room (didn't bother me though, as I don't understand Norwegian TV anyway).

a wonderful hotel with a very homey, family friendly, and cozy vibe. The staff was wonderful and incredibly helpful, as well as welcoming.
Breakfast was a bit disappointing, but they had all the needs you need for a nutritious meal. I wish that they had a larger selection, especially when their dinner was such an outstanding buffet!

The location of the hotel being so close to the mountains was amazing. The bar had such a nice cozy feeling that you really wanted to sit there after a day of working.
The breakfast buffet was not maintained as fast as it should’ve been. One day we had to wait quite long for things to be refilled. It was however a good buffet.

Cozy and relaxing atmosphere, the lounge area and the bar was very nice, the staff was great, the location.
Not very soundproof rooms due to the hotel being so old, a minor inconvenience. The buffet was a bit expensive and was also the only choice when i stayed there.

A lovely old hotel with many spaces to relax. The room was not very big but as expected when we booked. The location is excellent - if you have a car then go down the old road almost opposite the hotel.
The hotel was fine but quite expensive. Initially thought we may enjoy the lounge area at night with a few drinks but they were too expensive. I would have liked some choice with the set meal as only a meat option offered (which was a lovely meal but not overly filling - would have expected a hearty meal in this type of location).

Very neat hotel high in the mountains in Norway. In the middle of nowhere, but in the best of ways. Wish we could have stayed longer than one night just to spend more time relaxing in the large lobby & bar area. Several day trips nearby including Geiranger fjord & Gamle Strynefjellsvegen scenic road. Excellent breakfast & dinner buffet.
