I loved everything about Casa Rofo! The view from the terrace is spectacular, Guanajuato is uniquely beautiful. Omar and Jacquie are so kind, warm, and welcoming., truly wonderful hosts. The room was spotlessly clean, very peaceful, relaxing and comfortable, and it’s such a treat to have a fridge. I found the walk down to the Centro Histórico very quick and charming, definitely harder coming back up in the heat but worth it to sit on the terrace and watch the magical sunset, and the city lights come on. I found GTO very easy to navigate as a solo traveller, I took the v comfortable ETN bus from GDL, got an Uber from the bus station for just over 100 pesos, and a taxi back for 100 pesos. I felt very safe walking around alone, and there are lots of great restaurants. I loved Omar’s breakfasts, especially the huaraches! I wish I’d stayed longer, I would definitely stay at Casa Rofo again if I ever come back to GTO!

Lovely small place overlooking the city; easy to walk down into the centre for the main sites. I took an Uber from the big bus stop and it was easy to find up the hill. The room was small but ok for one person. The bathroom similar, small but doable. Breakfast was lovely on the rooftop

Such a wonderful experience at Casa Rofo! Omar had great communication with us right from the time we booked our reservation. When my husband & I arrived, Omar met us at the door & went over all the logistics of the room and staying there. He speaks English well. He took us up to the rooftop terrace which is AMAZING. The view is **INCREDIBLE**!! He was happy to help us come up with plans to enjoy the city, like suggest where to walk & eat. He was always very helpful and quick to respond to all our questions that came up over the few days of our stay. So many beautiful sights to see & restaurants for eating within a 5 - 15 minute walk. Omar and his wife prepared a lovely hot breakfast both mornings we were there. French toast one day & eggs the second day. Both days with fresh fruit. Breakfast was served on the breathtaking rooftop terrace. Our room was clean & well maintained. Great place for a home base while vacationing in Guanajuato City.

We overall loved our stay at Casa Rofo. To get that incredible view, the building is at the top of a very steep hill (Guanajuato City, in general, is very hilly). It was quite a walk back up that steep hill when returning from town. BUT, we always had the option to Uber back from town. We just chose not to. The spiral staircase inside the building to get to the roof & to our room was pretty steep and tight to maneuver. But was totally manageable for us & soooo worth it for the fantastic views. Our room did not have a lot of "extra" space. Very basic: bed (large bed, actually!), bathroom w/ shower, small cabinet to hang/store clothes, TV, small table w/ 2 chairs, mini fridge. But my husband & I actually thought it was perfect for us.

Breakfast was excellent. Omar, the host was excellent. Location of Casa Rofo and view from mirador superb. Room was pretty clean. Our king bed was comfortable.

Parking is difficult. We had a room with a kitchen, which we wanted, but there was nothing available in the kitchen! No pans, no silverware, no glasses. The kitchen should not even be mentioned if it is not going to be made available to the guest?

Casa Rofo was a great place to stay. Omar and his wife were extremely attentive on our needs and very helpful. Would definitely recommend Casa Rofo if you are ever visiting Guanajuato Mexico. Taxi service was very limited due to the festivals that were taking place Día De Los Muertos… there is a large hill you need to walk up to Casa Rofo , so I would suggest you bring comfortable walking shoes cause Guanajuato is all walking, but so very well worth it. Had a great visit, would definitely stay at Casa Rofo again.

Omar and his wife are two wonderful persons! After a very warm welcome, she introduced me the main highlights of the city of Guanajuato from the stunning terrace of Casa Rofo where they also offer a delicious homade breakfast. There is nothing better then looking at the colourful city while sipping your coffee with a breathtaking view. Casa Rofo is located just a few steps from the city center. My room was spotless and extremly "cozy" Wifi was excellent at all times. They helped me ¹ arreange my taxi early morning to the airport and she stayed up with me on the door waiting for the taxi to pick me up at 4a.m. I truly had a great unforgettable stay with them There is no best option than being a stranger but feeling like you were at home. Thank you once again Omar and Jaky for making myself at home. Your pancakes were fluffy and flavourful.

Everything was over than fine

This is the only place to stay in Guanajuato!! The location is hands down 10/10. The view from the balcony is out of this world 🌈 Omar is the most wonderful host. He and his family go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and magical. The room was super clean and well appointed, and the homemade breakfast was absolutely delicious. Could not recommend this incredible place enough. It feels like home away from home.

Nothing!! However, keep in mind if you are not overly fit, it's a very steep walk into town and the way back up could be hard. Also, the staircase inside Casa Rofo is very narrow so a large suitcase could be a challenge.

The view from our bedroom and rooftop terrace was incredible - you can watch the sunrise over the city in the morning and then watch it come to life and the lights turn on while having sundowners! Omar and Jacquie were wonderful hosts and so helpful - and the breakfasts were delicious! Also if you need a driver, Omar’s cousin Guillermo is fantastic - highly recommend - he drove us to San Miguel de Allende but was happy to stop along the way for us to sightsee and shop in Dolores Hidalgo plus other highlights on the way As mentioned in other reviews - yes it is a steep climb up the lane to Casa Rofo but the whole city is built on steep slopes - you can catch an Uber or Taxi for very little - and yes quick showers (Guanajuato has water shortages) Really loved everything about Casa Rofo - an unforgettable experience

The view is phenomenal, the walk to the center of town is easy and short and the hosts Omar and Jacklyn are exceptional! Having a delicious breakfast every morning on the terrace overlooking the city was an amazing way to start the day!

My room was a little rustic which I didn’t mind but if you are looking for luxury or fancy, this may not be for you. Also there is quite a bit of noise in the night- mostly from dogs barking, but that is a city wide problem and Omar provides earplugs!

I loved how calm and comfortable the place was. Our room "Pipila" had an excellent view, it was cozy and most importantly, clean. The towels and other amenities are perfect and sufficient for a traveler that wants to spend all day walking around the city and just arrive to sleep in a nice, clean bed. Sheets are changed every two days and if you don't want the staff to enter and clean your room during your stay, you can tell them so. Omar is really kind and his breakfast is superb, it's a perfect way to start your day!

The water is not hot enough for winter, just a quick shower and out of the bath. I'm sure during spring and summer it's perfect.
