Staff very helpful and friendly. Room was warm and comfortable, clean and well presented. Access and security easy and reassuring. Close enough to walk to the city centre to all the attractions the city had to offer and there was a helpful guest pack with lots of information in the room. We were meeting family in the city so we didn't have breakfast.
Parking was very tight (not surprising given the city location) and I needed my wife's help to direct me to get the car out. The walk into the city is all downhill, so it was a bit of a hike back (but there are local buses). Room was in the basement so no view from the window, and the room was quite 'compact' - but we had enough room for our brief stay (and there is a large guests lounge available). There was some distracting noise (knocking on floor above?) and audible raised voices late at night. That said, I would not let it put me off staying again.

Location was excellent. The breakfast was great value for money and cooked to perfection.im gluten free and everything was on offer to meet that. The hotel was lovely and clean. The room was great fully equipt with everything. It was lovely and warm. Its a short walk from the town but also has a bus stop right outside. Excellent value for money. Would highly recommend. The staff were so friendly and helpful couldnt do enough for you.they were an absolute pleasure to meet. Bianca that worked on our last night was an absolute dream. A lovely young lady whom we had a great chat with and she gave us some lovely ideas of things to do on our next visit.
Nothing everything was just perfect

We came to Bath and stayed at Oldfields for a weekend getaway, and we couldn't be happier! It's not in the centre of the city but there are buses that take you, or its a lovely 15-minute walk into town. The bed in the photos was a 4-poster which isn't what we got, but that's a small negative! The bed itself was VERY comfortable, and the room was bright, warm and clean.
The only downside was the breakfast: we got the full-english both the veg and non-veg options on our last day before driving, but it was very disappointing. The portion was not as big as we'd expected, but more importantly the food itself was very dry. The veg sausages were overcooked and mealy, the toast was tough. The eggs were decent but in general the food itself was lacking flavour (including salt). We didn't try other breakfast options (eggs benedict was going to be our other option), those may be better, but honestly the full english and continental breakfasts were disappointing.

I liked being able to stay in a Victorian house. The room was clean, had plenty of light and was spacious for a single person. The house was in an area just out of Bath city centre, so it was quiet and peaceful. There was a lovely sitting room you could use, and although I did not have the breakfast it did look delicious.
There wasn't much to dislike. I do not drive, so I did have to walk to the house from the station. It is only a 10-15 min walk, so no issues. Again with being a Victorian house, there can be many stairs - no lifts - and the rooms are on the smaller side. This did not bother me as a solo traveller but could affect others.

Comfortable bed, good in-room facilities, excellent breakfast. Easy to find even though not in a central location. Buses available to city if required. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent overall service. "Vanity kit" supplied included cotton-wool earbuds, which were useful as the B&B is adjacent to a fairly busy road, though quiet enough overnight. Onsite parking available if you have a car. Tasteful decoration and thoughtful inclusions in room.
The things mentioned here may be specific to my room on this occasion. Window didn't open (there was an acknowledgement that it was being fixed). Ventilation could have been an issue as there was no door to the bathroom and its extractor fan wasn't operational.

Loved the house, had so much character. The room was exceptional. Clean, spacious, and beautiful view from the window. Staff were welcoming and friendly... made you feel at home. And as for the breakfast, should keep you full for quite a while. The salmon with scrambled eggs was scrumptious and also the full English. Never got a chance to use the bar as I do like the occasional tipple. A good addition, though. Onsite parking was very handy but could be tricky when they're busy. Sure you can still park close by if there were no spaces. I would highly recommend Oldfields if you want that personal touch and value for money rather than going for the conventional hotel chains.

Lovely old building, characterful, set in pretty, peaceful gardens. There was an old world gentility about the place. The room was clean, comfortable, spacious, I loved the room. Obviously a lot of thought has gone into the little details that make people feel welcome and comfortable, like a personalised welcome note on arrival, welcome chocolates, bath robes. Breakfast was filling, tasty, and beautifully presented, the table service had that old world gentility I mentioned previously. When I visit Bath again, as I intend to,this guesthouse will be my first choice for accommodation

The property was beautiful, the room decorated perfectly, the views lovely, the bathroom very spacious, the dining room delightful. The hostess was charming and the staff friendly. Breakfast was tasty.
Though the size of the bathroom is wonderful, and it is generally well supplied, the tub is very narrow and does not drain properly when showering. In addition, the glass semi-enclosure does NOT keep water from splashing everywhere. The rain shower head fell on my husband’s head when the little rubber ring keeping it in place wore out, the ventilation is poor so the entire bathroom becomes a steamy, slippery mess, and the towel warmer has no obvious on and off but just turns on randomly. Finally, the bathroom remains cold while the room remains too warm, especially at night.

This stay should actually be rated at least 9/10 as on the day of arrival - Sunday afternoon - everything was indeed excellent, from the gentle music that welcomed us and the fantastic lady who checked us in and helped ensure free parking (and her lovely conversation with us later about what to see and do) to the historic nature of the house and grounds that matched beautifully with our time in Bath. There was attention to detail - little chocolates on the bath towels, for example, that were most unexpected for the price point we had paid (which was less than £100 for the night). However, I have to knock at least a point or two as the breakfast experience unfortunately unraveled all the good work the lady in check-in achieved.
After such an exceptional check-in experience, it was a shame that the breakfast, which was expensive (17.50 for a full breakfast, but considering the value of the room, is a minor issue) we came downstairs to find the gentle music of the previous day had been replaced by a blaring local radio station, which ruined the experience and changed the atmosphere completely. Obviously done for the sake of the staff, rather than the guests, its content (radio DJ's banal banter) made the experience more akin to eating in some greasy spoon establishment next to a construction site. Perhaps some would not find it as repulsive as I did - hence I have only knocked off one point. But as this was just before checking out - it is the last impression that so often counts.

The room was very spacious and the bed very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent.
The bathroom was dated as the jacuzzi bath was not working but had been left there as a shower base or regular bath and could do with replacing . The decor of the main house was a little tired in places and could do with updating or refreshing as although it was in period style , it felt a bit tired. The location was a bit far up a steep hill so to walk there with luggage was a challenge. We ended up taking a taxi back to the bus station when leaving and got buses in to the centre each morning and taxis back in the evenings.
