Price was extremely affordable, particularly since I was only staying one night. Double bed and bathroom were clean, shower worked well, tea making facilities, room heaters, bedside lights. Very ample parking. Garden is probably very attractive in summer. This is a roadside Inn, so traffic can be heard, but not unpleasantly so. Location was convenient for where I had to be next day.

The pub was closed and there were no staff about, even though booking.com said check-in was from 2 - 10 pm. The venue had accepted my estimated arrival time of 3-4pm. In the end I had to call out loudly, having knocked and phoned and got no response. Then a staff member, who had been resting between shifts, appeared and checked my booking, took payment and gave me the key to my motel-style room. TV signal was weak, but I had a Kindle book to read.

Really easy to find. Well situated. Lovely welcome. Fully stocked bar with alot of choice from real ales to modern gins etc. Traditional feel. Food freshly cooked, good value & plentiful. Staff very welcoming & friendly. Rooms are located in an annex next to the actual inn. Comfortable & surprisingly big with a full size fridge in the room; wardrobe space, cupboards & an en-suite bathroom. Beautiful location, with a river running beside the big beer garden. Great value for money.

Central to where we wanted to visit between Stonehenge surrounding villages and Salsbury. The premises were more than amicable, clean and tidy. Food both breakfast and evening meals were very good well proportioned and value for money. Couldn't fault any of the staff they were all pleasant. If I'm ever down that way again I would definitely stay at the Pelican

The location was great. It's on a busy A road but the rooms are quiet as they are built around a garden. The staff (Jenna) was absolutely fabulous, warm, friendly and very helpful. Spent the wife's birthday there and we had a great evening in the pub along with some very friendly locals.

The fact that they had no kitchen. Marstons who own the Pelican have got it up for sale, which I do think they should tell people.

Fantastic member of staff - sorry didn't get his name - he worked so hard seemingly all by himself. He greeted us, checked us in, took us to our room, took our food orders later on, delivered the food and drink to our table and was running the bar, too! Give that man a pay rise!! Great location, comfortable stay, parking on site, nice food and extremely good value for money.

Nothing! Just what we needed.

We were warmly welcomed and given a spacious room next to where we could park our bicycles. The bathroom was great, sparkling clean and the bed very comfortable. We can highly recommend having the full English breakfast, it was yummie, perfectly cooked and kept us going for 30+ miles! Staff and owner were just lovely, we highly recommend.

Can't think of anything, we thought everything was great.

the property is well looked after and the rooms are extremely spacious and well heated. the adjoining pub is a perfect country pub that has a great atmosphere and the staff are very pleasant and helpful. pub prices for food and drinks are very reasonable with a good selection of both. I will definitely be returning to the pelican in the future.

if I could change anything about this property it would have to be the foliage that hangs from the pergola as you come and go from pub to rooms, I am 6,2 so maybe if I was shorter it wouldn’t be so bad but I do have to duck to pass it. other than that I really like the place. a tv in the bar to watch England games would be good. :0)

Lovely old pub, lots of original features and great beers and wines. Menu was great and a good price. Staff really friendly and helpful - Dave really looked after us. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Shower was great and the view across the lovely gardens was pretty. Parking was easy and the pub easy to find.

Nothing!

I liked the rural location and that the rooms were located in a annex from the main pub The shower was powerful and plenty of hot water

Rooms were a little dated but clean apart from a few cobwebs and spiders that doesn’t phase me but other guest might be alarmed by a spider or two
