The food in the restaurant was very nice; we also enjoyed the breakfast. The decor of the hotel was beautiful, and our rooms were spotlessly clean. The staff were very attentive.

One of our rooms was room 101 and we found that room very warm. There was a fan in the living area which was appreciated but it could have benefitted from an air con unit of some kind. But we understood it was because it was a south facing room in a very old building.

The location of the hotel was spot on for us as on our way back to Devon. Hotel has recently been refurbished so everything was new. Rooms were lovely and clean. Bed was comfortable. We eat in the restaurant in the evening and food was good. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Great team. Shout out to Leahih in the restaurant.

Breakfast was a disaster. We turned up at 9.15 for breakfast and there was no food left in the continental breakfast choice. The tables all had plates etc left from previous diners. It was a bit of a mess. Final got some Fruit but no pasties as we were told they had all gone. Ordered cooked breakfast but waited over half an hour and had to leave before we could eat it. Manager dealt with the problem and we had a refund for breakfast. Saying all this we would stay again as a lovely hotel. I think just a glitch as only opened for 6 weeks.

The room was very high quality and so was the bathroom. It was very clean and there were full size shower products provided which were also of high value. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I had to stay an extra night and unfortunately couldn’t have the room I was in as it was booked out for several days, was worried as I had to check out at 11.00 and check in wasn’t until 2.00pm and I had lots of luggage and a large dog with me but they very kindly allowed me to swap the rooms over. I would fully recommend this hotel

Nothing every thing was excellent I can’t think of anything I didn’t like

Lovely old building. Great decor of the public areas - smart, modern and cosy. Staff were welcoming and friendly, including towards the dog! Food was generally good. Bedroom was well decorated and had a suitcase unit. Bathroom was smart and clean - love the duck! Large / refillable bottles of shampoo, soap, etc. Liked having a radio in the room. Great location to explore that part of Wiltshire. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Bed was too small (but we are used to a large bed!). No recycling bins in the room or in a public areas which is very amiss these days. Breakfast staff seemed very rushed off their feet on the Sunday morning and we were forgotten about initially. Would like to see porridge on the breakfast menu.

Breakfast AND evening meal. Staff very friendly and helpful and responsive to any issues. Room and bed comfortable.

Only issue for me was I wanted to go to bed around 10pm as I was staying for a work assignment and dealing with a 'difficult' back problem so was very tired. My room seemed to be above the music area of the hotel so some loud bass until 11pm hindered my earlier sleep but without my additional 'challenges', going on to 11pm wouldn't normally be a problem. I am returning soon so may ask for a room in a different part of the hotel where I know, from my colleague that the music wasn't an issue.

This is a charming little hotel with spotlessly clean rooms. The staff were polite and helpful and check-in was easy. Our room had a name - The Chuzzeiwit Room. It is on the top floor (3rd floor in America) and a bit of climb, but worth it. The room was large with two chairs for royalty :) and with a recently updated bathroom. The shower was great. After visiting Stonehenge we had dinner at the George and it was delicious and beautifully presented. Breakfast the next morning was also excellent. You will not be disappointed if you stay here.

It's an old building and no room for an elevator. If you can't climb stairs, ask for a room on a lower floor.

Room was excellent, olde world but so classy and spacious, we enjoyed our three day stay

Restaurant was ok but slightly pretentious, not too much we would order on an evening. Breakfast was good but one morning the bacon was so overdone it was inedible and there were no pastries left. One evening my wife ordered mince and dumplings which came with cabbage. She also ordered a side of seasonal veg which was also cabbage and nothing else, very odd and not much use! Overall the food was decent but drinks are very expensive, there are decent alternatives nearby

Breakfast was fab, loads of choices, bar meals were excellent, restaurant area was lovely, staff were fantastic, rooms wanted for nothing, nice beer garden, as a solo female felt totally OK in the bar areas on my own.

Nothing, It's a shame there's no lift but I appreciate with the age of the building it's probably not possible. As someone who needs oxygen, I relayed this prior to my stay and there were staff available and willing to bring my case up to my room and down on leaving. Totally rate this venue 10/10 , been twice , once before refurb, it's now so much better...will definately be back !

Nicely located for visiting the surrounding area including Avebury, Stour Head and the Salisbury Plain area. The rooms are decorated and furnished to a high standard with all of the usual tea/Coffee making facilities and large screen TV. En-Suite facilities equally of a high standard. The included breakfast is very generous with good quality ingredients, as was an evening meal which we had. - Despite being busy, the car park is large enough that we had no problem getting a space when returning from a vist out. - All staff were very friendly and helpful.

All good.

Great location for Stonehenge and a cosy and quaint old English pub that’s had a respectful refurbishment. Loved the decor and the service was fantastic with all staff - but special mention to Briony - checked us in with a lovely smile and arranged for a lovely table with a couple of wines awaiting us for dinner. Top marks.

Only one negative - otherwise would be 10/10 is parking. Understandable being an old venue and fortunate to get on street parking on Saturday night but as an overnight guest with luggage did cause some stress. But was the only negative.
