I stayed at Mont d'Or Franschhoek for one night during a solo trip, and it was a truly delightful experience. The property is absolutely lovely, with an exceptional attention to detail that made my stay feel personal and welcoming. The staff were amazing—friendly, attentive, and eager to make sure everything was perfect. The place is super clean and incredibly well-situated, making it easy to explore Franschhoek.

The only thing I’d note is that the room I stayed in was on the smaller side, which worked perfectly for me as a solo traveler but might not be ideal for couples. That said, they do have larger room options available, so it’s worth checking what suits your needs.

The property is lovely, we enjoyed our stay. Staff was nice and breakfast very good.

We had to change room even thought our booking was for 2 nights, the first night was on the street side which wasnt very nice. The day after we stayed at the garden side and that was much better. Check out is a little too early, 11 would be better.

Location is superb - very easy access to the town centre etc. breakfast also excellent with lovely fresh fruit and yoghurt and a cooked breakfast too. Very helpful staff especially the owner who went out of his way to chat and help where he could.

No soap in the bathroom at the sink! When we asked the best they could do was to give us another shower gel tube. A little bar of real soap would be lovely. Also - there were no mattresses on the sun loungers. The owner explained that these were on order but it did make sunbathing quite uncomfortable!

Location was unbelievable to explore the beautiful town , the feeling was tranquil and relaxing by the pool, the garden was beautiful , the staff were very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was delicious.

I could of done with a smaller pillow but then I didnt ask for another one so my fault!

The whole guesthouse is really beautiful with the buildings and garden. It is also in very good location. Our room was super nice and spacious and beds comfortable. Downside was that we stayed there only two nights.

The pool is quite small with cold water, but would definitely stay again!

Our room was spacious and well-equipped and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast had a lot of choice and hot dishes were cooked to order. The manager and owners were welcoming, friendly and helpful. When unable to get a taxi on Valentine's Day one of the owners drove us to our destination.

The toilet seat in our room was broken.

An amazing stay at Mont d’Or. The property is gorgeous, the room was stunning, very clean and the bed was very comfy. The staff were extremely friendly. The location was also a 2 minute walk from the main road with shops and restaurants. We will be back!!

Staff excellent, especially the male manager (unfortunately we didn’t get his name) interacted great with customers and very helpful. Great location, Crisp fresh linen and good house keeping.

Bed was hard and heavy pillows.

Due to the fact that the doors and windows are a bit older the rooms at the street are very noisy (at the main entrance where people come in and go out).

Fabulous guest house. We had a beautiful room which was really tastefully decorated (to the point where I asked the owners where the bedding was from), super friendly staff who gave us so many recommendations. Great location on a quiet road but moments away from the centre of town and the wine tram. Id definitely return.
