I was recommended Auberge Clermont by someone who had recently stayed here for their honeymoon and it did not disappoint! The room was stunning with an amazing view out to the pool, vineyard and mountains. We weren't here on our honeymoon but it was the only room available when booking and it was a stunning room! The bathroom was amazing with 'his' and 'hers' showers and sinks and a bath. Tennis court was a nice bonus that we weren't aware of and did have a few games on our first day. We also attempted going in the pool however as not heated it was cold this time of year. Location was good as only 15 min walk into Franschhoek and about 25mins to the wine tram terminal (although after dark we got uber back to the hotel as hotel is located on a quiet road with no street lighting). Staff were very helpful and offered to organise transport for us, although we found organising ubers ourselves to be a lot cheaper!! I had also brought the wrong adaptor so they lent us one of the spare adaptors they had. Breakfast was amazing! Overall an amazing stay and would highly recommend

Everything! Our room was beautiful and our bed was very comfortable- made it hard to get up! We arrived early upon check in and Caroline kindly offered us some breakfast before we went on the wine tram. The surrounding area is beautiful and the pool is set overlooking the vineyards. We wish we had stayed longer! It’s only about a 5 minute taxi ride to the town centre where there are lots of nice shops, cafes and restaurants. Nicest place we have stayed so far with a lovely selection of wines and teas in our room. Thanks to the hosts for being very accommodating.

Auberge Clermont exceeded our expectations on all fronts. An absolutely gorgeous property, with lovely pools, clean and beautiful rooms, and wonderful staff. They were so kind and accommodating of our baby. The breakfast was as good as any I’ve ever had at a hotel. The thoughtful touches - providing a map for walks of the vineyards, bottles of local wine available in the room, being able to order in food from town - made this an exceptional stay. We had the honeymoon suite and it was fantastic. Wish we could have stayed longer!

The place is just stunning. The location, oasis of tranquillity in a beautiful avenue and surrounded by vines and olive groves. Everything is done with attention. Details matter. If you want quiet, smaller scale accommodation and high-quality, book with your eyes closed. Obviously, fantastic dining in Franschhoek. 5 mins by car...

Was close enough to the town to be within walking distance. Breakfast was a nice selection every morning. The room felt luxurious in a shabby chic kind of way. Having a private outdoor space was great The wine supplied was excellent. Sad we only tried on the last day

The pool was lovely but would have preferred if it had been heated. But not a major problem as we were there in summer

Auberge Clermont is in a stunning location - gorgeous views, farm setting, away from the hubbub of the town but so close and convenient to town, wineries, and hiking. The rooms were spacious and comfortable with gorgeous views, a lovely private patio overlooking the vineyards. Delicious breakfast, excellent service. We went for a hike on our last day and they were willing to hold onto our bags and allowed us to have a swim when we returned. Very accommodating.

Everything was great.

Location was ideal for us. We knew the hotel was c15 mins walk from the town and this made it very peaceful. Beautiful views from our room. Great breakfast. Helpful, cheerful staff. Had a quick look at the villa, for possible future use with friends, and it looked excellent.

Given the good overall rating, the following are minor quibbles / ideas to help achieve excellence: - Room a little tired in terms of paintwork / maintenance (tho it could be argued that is also part of the hotel's charm). - Staff were great but can be difficult to find. Understandable given the relatively small size of the hotel but a means of attracting attention when there is no one at reception during the day would be helpful. - Given the location, an honesty bar would be a ideal, because sometimes one wants just a glass of fizz / wine / G&T before or after going into town. There are bottles in the fridge of course but opening, say, a full bottle of fizz just for the odd glass over the course of 3 or 4 days isn't that practical / desirable.

Everything. A perfect beautiful oasis of immense beauty and calm unlike the touristy and gawdy nearby town, the Auberge Clemont is simply wonderful. Everywhere you look you see attention to details. Views are to die for. Great beds, very nice breakfast, lovely staff. We wanted to stay weeks

The road leading to the place is very dark and cannot be walked at night but it's a positive for isolation from commercial areas.

1) stunning, peaceful location in a small wine estate surrounded by awsome mountains. 2) spacious, very comfortable bedroom with large bed. 3) TV with channels that are worth watching. 4) excellent breakfast, especially the coffee, orange juice and mushrooms. 5) Nespresso machine in bedroom.

1) air-con goes off during load shedding. 2) need a car at night to go to Franschhoek's restaurants.

The location is stunning. The mountain backdrop with the vineyard and then planting of flowers around the property. So tranquil and a tonic to your soul. I felt I had walked into a page of House and Gardens. So tastefully furnished and the grounds beautifully thought out. Ten minute walk to town with numerous restaurants . The region suffers from power outages but the property has a generator which is an added bonus. The staff were lovely. I would definitely recommend it and I will return.one day.
