We booked a suite. The space was much appreciated from other New York stays in closet sized rooms. The bed was large and with comfortable linens. The sitting area was comfortable. The bathroom was well appointed with good lighting. There was ample room to move around the room. The closet storage was good. The lounge area on the top floor was welcoming and well tended. The room was quiet.

It was overall a dark room in the suite sitting area. I really wanted better lighting. I often sat by the window in the bedroom to have some natural light. A single dark wall would have been much more inviting rather than the entire room. It made it a little cave-like. I also wished the bedroom door would have stayed open. It was a challenge with the closet door. They often banged together. The tv in the bedroom did not work but I don't watch much tv and did not report it.

The location of the hotel is great, the room is amazing, large and clean. But the location of the hotel lends to some night time room noise and that is a negative. However the area around the hotel is easy to get around, great restaurants and easy subway access. Traveling alone, I found it very safe and was happy to listen to the street noise of a night in place of other areas with a less safe street scape. Breakfast and though the day snacks were great and the lobby/sitting area is lovely, especially when decorated for Xmas. Excellent selection of teas and snacks at all times of day in the lobby bar.

Street noise at night. Unavoidable in this location and came with other benefits, such as safety and easy subway access. A tea or coffee is alway available in the lobby with a Cliff bar or piece of fruit so no need for an in room kettle.

Enjoyed our suite - it was very comfortable and the shower was wonderful! We requested a fridge and kettle and both were in situ on arrival. Breakfast was unexpectedly good. Being able to relax on the roof terrace was great too. Walking distance to some excellent restaurants - Sarabeths was a favourite. Christian was wonderful - I don’t think we would have managed to get our bags into the taxi without him - a real hero!

I feel I was mislead - one of the reasons I booked to stay at The Giraffe hotel because it advertised a cheese and wine reception every evening - when I arrived I discovered this was untrue - yet it is still listed on the website. I complained at reception and asked to see the manager - this never happened.

Such a shame that the wine and cheese happy hour no longer takes place. Without it the hotel doesn’t feel quite so special. In its absence need better range of snacks in foyer

The location was optimal for a variety of activities. I enjoyed the spaciousness of our accommodations and the breakfast that was included. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

There was no mini bar in the room nor an on premises lounge where you could purchase a night cap.

When I purchased the upgraded room with the balcony, I expected to be able to sit outside and have a cocktail with my Wife. There was barely enough room for the potted geranium, no less chairs and Ourselves! We went outside once to check out the obstructed view, took a short look and that was that. The upgrade costs Us $ 57 more each evening plus taxes and fees, approximately $135 more, certainly Not an "extra" that I would EVER purchase again!

The bed was very comfortable, and the room was quiet, considering that it fronted onto Park Avenue South. although the Police and Ambulance sirens were frequent and very loud! The 24-hour coffee was nice as well as the snacks and the continental breakfast. I thought that they were included in the room price but when I received a copy of Our charges, I then realized that We were assessed a daily resort fee of $25, which covered the cost, and taxes, and fees associated with the perceived items that originally, I thought were generously added benefits! However, they were not, but the availability was nice, and the sofa and the comfortable chairs were nice too!

We loved the hotel and the amazing staff . They made our stay in New York one to remember. Our king suite room was made up to accommodate our son in his own sofa bed in the lounge ,whilst we had a separate bedroom. We all loved that we had our own space to relax in after a busy day exploring. The continental breakfast was an added bonus with the extremely helpful hotel ladies who toasted bagels and made coffee at your request. The hotel was located near 2 subways so getting about was easy. We would love to return to New York and stay at Hotel Giraffe in the future and would definitely recommend it to our family and friends .

Just about everything was wonderful. Warm, attentive staff from front dest, to bellmen, to morning breakfast and housekeeping. Love the large sitting area in the lobby, which serves both as breakfast area but also a place just to relax and enjoy the 24 hour snacks and coffee/tea offerings. The rooms are nicely appointed and warmly decorated. Bed was very comfortable and liked that there as a chair and ottoman in addition to the desk chair. Great closet and drawer storage. Nice bathroom and related amenities, including abundant towels and bathrobes (2). And overall quiet. The continental breakfast was excellent with bagels, breads for toast, an assortment of quality pastries, fruit and juices. There were boxed cereals though I wish they offered at least a more healthy cereal option (granola or muesli) rather than the typical sugar-loaded brands. But overall, it was well done. Finally, we loved the location as we walked or rode the subway all over the city.

I had an exceptional experience at the Giraffe Hotel during my recent stay in New York. The location is unbeatable – just steps from the subway, surrounded by great restaurants and shops, and only a short stroll from Madison Square Park. The staff at the reception were warm, welcoming, and always ready to assist. The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean, and beautifully designed, with thoughtful touches like living plants that added a fresh feel. The all-day snacks available in the lobby were a nice perk, and while I couldn’t indulge in the daily bagels due to my gluten intolerance, I found plenty of healthy breakfast options nearby. The hotel offers reliable Wi-Fi, which was crucial for my work, and everything ran smoothly during my stay. Overall, I highly recommend the Giraffe Hotel – it combines an excellent location with outstanding service and comfort. I look forward to returning!

Great location. The room was nice and clean. The bed was comfortable. We also had a little balcony with nice view of the city. The hotel has a roof top where we could hangout with our family that lives in NYC. There was water provided all day, at the foot top and the hotel lobby, as well as fruit and pastries, which was great. Also, hotel is offering a decent continental breakfast. The hotel is open 24/7 which is super helpful too.

The only thing I had a trouble with were the synthetic sheets. I have a mild allergy to some synthetic materials and it also it makes sleeping hotter and less comfortable.
