I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at nap York. First of all when you walk up to the building it's very narrow so it's easy to miss it. When you walk in your greeted by the front desk attendant, whichever one I met was very hospitable. We stayed in the next dorms, so there was six bunks in each room with its own bathroom. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, and the bedding was very clean. The only thing I struggled with was the air flow. I was just getting over a common cold when I arrived. Once you close your curtain there's not much air flow there is a cutout above your head to allow ventilation but I still struggled and coughed a lot throughout the night. I actually felt bad for the people I was sharing the Pod with. The common area was really nice and clean and they also had a rooftop patio. I would totally stay again over and over!

This is a hard one because I really enjoyed my stay. The only thing that's slightly bothered me and it really wasn't much of a bother at all was the music but it wasn't music on the main floor. It was extremely loud, but really I only had to hear it while waiting for the elevator. It had no effect on my stay in the room.

Amazing location, and the property is very well kept for what it is (a decently old building near central park).

My main gripe that the light turns on too easily when people enter the room, it is too bright, and that top bunks are not sufficiently sealed to prevent light from coming in. The AC doesn't work that well so summers can be tough, and windows don't really block outside noise.

I was in NYC for a week for a conference and some sight-seeing. I needed a budget friendly option near everything I wanted to visit as this was my first time in NYC. The location is within short walking distance of the subway, a pharmacy, round the clock food options and major tourist attractions. BRING YOUR OWN LOCK for your locker and to chain up your luggage in the hallways until you have your room. As someone who was only coming back super late at night to sleep, this was a perfect set up for me. The obvious should go without saying, but be courteous to your bedmates - be quiet when coming in/out. Free earplugs are available if you end up with someone who snores badly and there are face masks too.

Hard to find the place initially! You'll walk right past it a bajillion times. It's just past the McDonalds and you need to look for the twinkling star lights. In my room, the proximity sensor light kept turning on the main light when I would walk in, which I would manually turn off so as to not disturb others who were sleeping/resting. Only one night where someone snored in my room (unavoidable), but I was able to mitigate this by putting in bluetooth earplugs. On the day I was leaving, there was an issue with the door lock and no one was picking up the phone to let us in, or after knocking on the front door, despite there being a staff member inside. Thankfully, the door finally opened, but being unable to get in to my belongings when I was rushing to get to a flight was very stressful.

I felt very safe here. It was easy to find, the person at the front desk was very friendly and efficient, and finding my room was easy. It was also very important to me that even though I was sharing a room with strangers, it was a women only room with a passcode on the door for extra security. I felt safe enough that I didn't use my locker, I just left my stuff on my bunk while I went out on the town. There's a commons area with a kitchen outside the rooms on the floor where you can store take-away, cook fresh food, or make tea/coffee. Very comfortable. The beds are bunk beds with bare minimum quality bedding but there's a shelf and outlet inside each bunk and it was all I needed for a one night stay. The location was awesome, it's directly next to a wendys and plenty of other food options and it's only a 10 minute walk from Times Square, as well as close to entrances/exits to the subway. I'll definitely be staying here again during my next trip to new york, it was by far the safest place for less than any of the airbnbs that I looked into, and perfectly located.

I read that there were supposed to be a few features that they didn't actually have. The beds didn't look the way they're advertised on the website, there was no fan or pink noise machine, the bathroom did not smell good. It wasn't a bad place just really took me by surprise when I arrived in person and it didn't look/feel anything like what i had expected.

Excellent location, Times Square is just a few blocks away as well as Central Park… The staff is friendly and eager to help with any topic. The rooms are clean and silent! Although the property is facing against the street, the noise is seemingly observed by the windows so you don’t hear much of the noise outside. Check in starts at 4pm punctually and they allow you to enter the building and drop your luggage if you arrive earlier than check in time. Make sure you bring a nice and steady pad lock for your storage in the room. The ones sold by Nap York are useless

Not much but it felt weird to speak with remote agent at the desk when arriving before the check in time in case of questions.

Unbeatable location. You are in the heart of Manhattan, just a few steps away from Time Square. You save a lot of time you would have spent traveling to all the attractions. You can also go back to your stay for a quick rest / toilet break / phone recharge / water refill in between your sightseeing. The place was also kept very clean and tidy. Bed was comfortable and the whole place is quiet and peaceful , guaranteeing you are well rested for your busy days. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Check in was smooth but the 4 pm check in time is a bit unreasonable. They end up charging everyone 10 dollars for an early check in. Also you are charged 5 $ for a padlock for the locker which should ideally come with a number lock. CARRY A NUMBER LOCK WITH YOU ! Taking care of the microscopic keys that come with the padlock is not easy. Also, I got an upper berth, the treck up and down the bed is not easy. I was afraid I would fall off and hurt myself, especially during the midnight toilet visits when you are practically half asleep.

The bed I was assigned was super comfy with a small shelf close to the night lite and the outlets for charging devices. A towel and top sheet was provided (pillow & bottom sheet already on bed). Took advantage of the pre-check-in which essentially allowed me to arrive, present my id and head straight to my space. A locker was available but locks were an add-on price. Bag storage was $5 after check-out. Location on 8th Ave just a few blocks from Central Park was ideal. Great neighborhood. Shower and bathroom were large. Hot shower. A mirror outside the bathroom made it easy to get ready w/o needing the bathroom. Lovely, friendly, professional staff.

I would choose the 4 bed dorm or 2 bed dorm over the 6 bed dorm regardless of price difference. Too difficult to coordinate access to bathroom with six ppl.

The pod/bunk bed was comfortable, there was enough privacy and the location (Hell's Kitchen neighborhood) was great! The shared places also looked clean and good, and there's a rooftop terrace where you can admire the view! Bring a lock with you, but you can also buy one for $5 which will be yours after your stay. Also, I had a big checked in bag during my trip and it did not fit in the locker they provided. I just stored it in the room and it was fine but just know that the lockers are smaller. The staff were nice and helpful.

3 things: They ask for a $100 damage deposit when you check in, which I think is fair. I checked out on Wednesday and received the money by Friday, so it was relatively fast, as promised. But just something to be aware of! The silent hours are between 9pm-9am, and during this time you can't use the hairdryer (they turn it off). Maybe this is only a problem for me but I had to rush back to the hostel to wash and dry my hair in time, so just be aware of that. The blanket was just a sheet which was fine in the summer heat, however, during colder days/months I would have been cold when sleeping, especially since the AC is on. I believe you can request extra blankets but that's for extra charge.

Location was in a bustling area with nearby transit. Facilities were clean, room was quiet. Free tea and coffee, hot/cold water, fridge for food. Outside the kitchen there was a “bar” area you could do work in, which was pretty nice.

Top bunk a bit painful on the feet to get up to; if anyone has mobility issues that may be affected, probably ask if you can get a bottom bunk instead. With the drapes completely shut the pod felt suffocating (there was ventilation but it wouldn’t travel into the pod) so I had to keep it open halfway. Not much noise but you are rooming with others so some should be expected. Lights are automatic (motion-based) which meant you had to wait a while for them to close again.

Convenient location and unique experience compared to a regular hostel. Atmosphere was great for a small pod capsule hotel. Communication was great.

I really can’t think of anything.
